Facing a really annoying problem of automic rebooting. Badly need HELP! - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

I am facing a very annoying problem: my x10 mini(unrooted) automatically gets restarts.
Some of the days it works fine. But once it gets restarts then it restarts atleast 3-4 times a day. I have tried to reinstall the android firmware but still the problem prevails. I keep the phone memory at 21-22MB level, is the problem because of this( But I want to tell you 1 thing that I bought the phone in november and in feb end my phone was not switching on ,then I went to SE service centre they reinstalled the firmware and the problem was solved. Since then I am facing the problem of rebooting, before that it worked fine. I used to keep the phone memory around 2mb in the initial days of purchasing and it worked fine even in 2mb so I guess low phone memory is not a problem. I rooted my phone in november but when service centre employee reinstalled the firmware then I lost rooting.i.e. Now my phone is unrooted). Can the problem be because of SIM card or SD Card(corrupt files which I am aware of) or it is because of some other reason?
I dont want to go to the service centre because I feel that they will just reinstall the firmware which I already have done. It would be great if you could tell me any solution. If not the solution then a user friendly and so technical language using app which show the log of my phone so that I can figure out what happens in the system. But I really want a solution. Please guys help! Hope you guys would bring all your experience into play and help me.

Well ..people will need some more specific info ..like are you on the latest SE update ? what programs did u install (seems u did install quite a few as ur phone memory is ~22 MB ). Anything you noticed when it reboots ? Like while doing some operation or running something in particular when this reboot happens ?
Why dont you do a fresh flashing of the latest update through SEUS (not PC companion) and then just stick to the stock ROM (without installing anything else) for 7-10 days and see how it behaves ?
You can always take a backup of ur essentials like SMS and contacts (if you are not syncing ur contacts with google ) before you flash using SEUS.
There are ways to check the logs (using logcat ) but not sure how much effective it might be as u might not be in a position to check logs everytime when your phone reboots.
Hope this helps. Really there was very less inputs available for giving any solution.

I am having the latest android firmware. I updated the android firmware by downloading a firmware file avaible on the sony's website, I don't know what it is called but I surely didn't used pc companion for updating. There is no specific app which I am using when it restarts.
I will give any necessary info which will help you to suggest a solution.

you cannot just download a firmware from SE site ..it can be done only by two ways one via PC companion and the other by SE Update service. (SEUS)
And yes , it would be better to reflash through SEUS . It does seem that you have installed lots of things ..better forget them now and just use the stock ROM from SE.

[UNSOLVABLE]Weird camera problem

Hi everyone,
Yesterday I was installed 2.1 on my Xperia. After that, my camera stopped working. Everytime, when I try to launch it, i see only "Camera unaviablle". I was trying everything. First, I reflash phone to 1.6, and guess what - the same problem! After that, I was trying "Repair" in PCC and SEUS. Four times. Nothing... Anyone have any ideas whats going wrong? Problem was started after update, but I don't belive, that the update is reason. Please, help me. I have great phone, with great 8mpx camera, but I can't use it... I'm desperate.
probably a hardware problem mate ~ i think you should go to your dealer ~ wer you brought your mobile ~ hope it still on warranty ~ or you would have to pay extra costs !!
I think the same. But I still hope, that anybody have same problem, and it isn't hardware. But if it is hardware - then I'm going to disassembly my phone and take a look what is wrong. Maybe it is only problem with connector or something like this. I think, I haven't warranty after what I was doing with my kit...
in my x10 i cant do video recording only photo shoot
did u by any chane get this problem after installing adw launcher?
Yeah I'm having the same problem which I talked about here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826174
Lets see if we can find some commonalities:
Which phone do you have: X10a or X10i?
Which firmware revision? Nordic? Generic? etc
How did you flash it? Did the flash program say press enter to continue?
When the phone first started up, did you see a Camera --> Phone icon?
Anything else significant that you can think of?
1. I have X10i
2.Now, I have Global FW, but I have Nordic 2.1 when problem was apeared
3. I used Flashtool to flash to nordic, then I used SEUS to update to 2.1
4. YES! I saw this icon! And I knew that this is a sign!
Also, when I flash to Generic 1.6 my phone was bricked. Only vibrate.
I was thinking, that this is hardware problem. But now, thanks you, I think, that is software hopefully. It is impossible, that two person have the same hardware problem in the same circumstances
Do you have any ideas what goes wrong?
Camera worked the first time since 2.1, then I get the camera not available message. didn't try to go back to 1.6... Hope the camera didn't break..
Camera not available
Hey iv got the same problem, when I start the camera it says "Camera Not Available" iv tried everything iv re-flashed the phone used SEUS and reinstalled the FW however still the same problem. Done factory reset. cleared cache
Iv even downgraded back to 1.6 and the camera still doesn't work
it still says "Camera Not Available"
Can some1 please help?
Is anybody here, who might help us? Or tell us what is wrong, ane where we must search reason of this problem?
Hi,
Adding my woes listed in post 8993145
1. I have X10i
2. I currently have Nordic 2.1 loaded, but I originally had global 2.1 loaded and have reloaded that 3 times before I tried Nordic.
3. The firmware files I have are ok as I have flashed 5 other phones for work colleagues with no problem.
4. I used Flashtool to flash to global and I have also used SEUS to reload 2.1
I can successfully root the phone, and everything else appears to be working apart from the camera.
My problem is solved, I emptied the picture/video folder using a file manager (in the DCIM folder of the SD card). Camera is working again
I tried and nothing. So, my problem this isn't reason for my kit. Anyone else tried this method? Or anyone solved this problem? Or anyone want help us? Maybe devs? Even for money...

Worked here!! Camera is back again!
Update: It crashed again but i've tryied to remove Vignette (demo) of the device and it worked!
I have removed the photos held under the DCIM directory, but the camera is still not working for me.
I think we need bin4ry or someone who knows a bit about the flash process. I feel that the issue has something to do with something that stays between flashes. Otherwise, flashing back to old firmware would fix the issue.
Have you tried backing up your sd card then formatting it and replacing the files? (and empty dcim)
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Tried. Not working. It's truth, we need bin4ry...
I have the same problem with my X10a, I flashed it with 2.1 nordic using bin4rys flashtool. I formated my SD and nothing.
Ah so the problem resurfaces
Back when i had 1.6 on my x10i ... the camera apk would crash when i clicked on the camera button.... [my work around is to use the "on screen" click option]

My dear friend,
You obviously have no clue about the whole system, until you get used to operating system, i would recommend that you dont start flashing just yet. let's get you up to date on the whole thing.
Android is an Operating System it helps your hardware interact with the software, Freex10 and gingerbread are like windows XP and windows 7, the latest version of android is 2.3.2 a.k.a Gingerbread, Freex10 is version 2.2.1.
Considering you dont know anything about flashing, i am assuming that you are using the stock OS supplied either 1.6 (Donut) or if you have updated the OS, 2.1 (Eclair). You can verify by going to settings-> About Phone -> Android Version.
Gapps refers to google apps like maps, voice dialer, google search, market etc.
For the time being what i want you to do is tell me which android version you are using and also how exactly this problem started.
Regards
E
Click on the thanks button if my post was of any use to you
No...it turns off when I open Maps o Wisepilot and try to get position using the GPS....few seconds after the app start running ,it switch off and switch on again...
I have android 2.1 updated.... I have an app named Juicedefender and MYLookOut...I delete memory booster app and Auto killer. The maps app star working rigth wit the GPS for a while but few minutes later the phone switch off again....
Try updating apps of it still does not work try flashing the phone by going to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746 download the flasher and the firmware from http://www.mediafire.com/?sqv6274anzfzn2x
Extract the flasher zip file, open the program X10FlashTool.exe
If the firmware is of the extension .ftf
copy the firmware to the firmwares folder found in the flasher folder
if the firmware is not in the .ftf format
Advanced -> Bundle creation -> select the folder containg the firmware -> enter details required ( Device, Branding, version) -> select all the files present in the folder list (on the left side) and transfer to the firmware content -> click ok
-> click on flash -> select the firmware -> when asked connect the phone in flasher mode and you are good to go.
If you require busybox or root or xrecovery it will be found in the advanced menu.
Now update Maps and try again,
Regards

I was making some test and the problems happen also when I opne GPSTest app. Yesterday I used the SonyEricson Companion Software to repaire the phone (I think is like "reflash the phone"). After that I install superuser, busibox and I rooted my phone. Finally activate the GPS and try to test it using GPSTest app but it works fine for a couple of minutes and after that the phone turned off by itself.... Don´t u think the problem could be the GPS Hardaware instead of software?......By the way , It seems like the problems showed up after I updated my phone fromo android 1.6 to 2.1-updated....
the link you wrote for getting flash and firmware is for xperia X10i but my phone is X10a is there any problem with that? O I need to look for X10a?

There is a possibility that it could be your hardware and since no other user is helping us out, i think its best you reflash using SEUS and DO NOT root the phone and go to a nearby service center and show it to them
Yea the firmware link i gave is for x10i, my bad i thought you had a x10i anyways it doesnt matter because i have heard of users who have installed x10i firmware on x10a anyways for the sake of safety of you mobile, in the flasher website, if you scroll down a bit you will find firmware for the x10a

Ok I reflash the way you told me...I selected the firmware for x10a ...everything was OK after I reflash the phone until I see that I do not have data conection anymore!!....I am in mexico and I was paying a data conection using EDge and 3G but after the reflash I can not havit both of them!!....now what_
Thank you so much...I fix the data conection problem...I need to restore my system settings backup. Now it seems to work properly incluiding the GPS....I am gonna test it the rest of the day to confirm is 100% ok....Thanks a lot
Always there to help a person in need bro. Take care and if everything is fine, i would recommed that you root the phone and try out all the features possible on the mobile, make it worth your money

Did you go back to 1.6 or 2.1? Just in case that it is a hardware problem, i would suggest that you take the phone to your local dealer and ask for a replacement device.
Better act while you still have warranty.
I will do that....after I reflash the phone , the problem comes out again...Afer a couple of minutes I activate the GPS and opened the Maps, the phone crash, I mean it switch off...
Im gonna ask warranty....regards
mine use to do it but it stoped after the third time

Sent from XDA Premium from my X10a rooted running 2.3.2 gingerbread rom from rdannar
Thanks for your input
Hi, Thanks for your input, could you please tell me how to run on ROM mode which u have mentioned? i could not able to understand coz 1st time i m using this kind of phone. what could be the reason to restart while make a call or recieve a call or sync with gmail? As per the service person they told me that the motherboard has to replace. is there a major issue?
I would say that your radio/baseband is 'dead'.
Have you tried to restore it through SEUS/PC Companion?
And to check on which ROM/Firmware you are
- settings
- about the phone
- there it is

[Q] com.android.phone force close, X10 Mini Pro

Hello,
I have a weird problem, I sold my X10 mini pro, but the customer has a weird force close of the phone app...
the rom version is 2.1.1.A.0.6 as it is the latest available with an italian KIT number.
Anyone knows how to solve this?
He already tried to reflash via Pc Companion, and hard reset via settings...
he is allready done hard reset and memory reset and what the phone doing now?
he says that sometimes the phone hangs, and it shows the phone FC, the only way to reboot is to take the battery out. But the rom is the original one
if the phone is stock... 3 things
1. the phone has problem in it electronic cirquits not firmware
2. he maybe try to unlock it or root it or other kernel /rom
3. dont put the battery out just press the menu button and on/off button together to reboot it
tell him to make a reset and let the phone as stock without programms to see... if the phone has stock apps with the latest stock firmware maybe is the (1.) if the phone is stable in stock mode tell him that is some programm make that hang... because i see that on my phone where i had it stock... install apps only from android market and see if it stable.... then continue easily and stable ... not 5 to 5 programms every time....

I don't think he rooted or installed anything, and the phone was working fine when I had it. It's so weird...
if the phone work fine when u had it and is stock and it did not fall down and brake any electronic parts tell him to reset it all everythings programms and start from begginng maybe is a programm... or else he is unlucky guy recycle or fix it to Sony Ericsson... after all i believe that is a programm problem and i say again ... if the truth is that the phone is stock...
IMHO full memory (on-board).
Remove some apps...
Cheers,

[Q] Battery Problem + Updating doesn't work

Hey guys,
I hope someone will know the answer to my problems, I'll try to keep this short. (English is not my first language so excuse me for any mistakes I make).
Around 2 months ago I couldn't connect to my wifi, I tried everything, but eventually I thought the only solution was to factory reset my Samsung Galaxy S2.
That turned out to be a stupid decision. I made a back up of my media files, so those were safe. But the option to make a back up of your contacts using google didn't work, so I lost all my contacts, whatsapp messages and text messages.
Factory resetting my phone was the solution to the wifi problem though, so I was happy with that. And in the mean time I've gotten a lot of my contacts back, so that's not that kind of a big issue to me anymore.
But now I have a new problem. My phone can't update it's firmware anymore. I've tried using the update function from the phone, but it says it can't connect to the server. And using KIES, it says that the phone can't be updated as well. Now it's running on 2.3.5 and I'd really like to get the new OS available. (This is problem #1).
Problem #2 is the fact that in the last few days my battery has been incredibly weak. Normally I could last 1,5 days to 2 days with a fully charged battery, but now it seems to only last about 4-6 hours. The phone seemed to be a lot warmer as well.
I've tried to find a solution for problem #1, and all I could find is that maybe the factory reset changed the settings of which country your phone is from (I'm from the Netherlands), and that this is the reason why I can't update my phone.
In the thread I found they were talking about using #1234# and checking the codes there, but when I use this my phone displays (translated) ''connection problem or wrong MMI-code''. So I can't check if the data changed after the factory reset.
What should I do next?
Thanks in advance.
Hello there mate.
Im not a dev or something but from different cases that i've seen with many GS2 phones i think i can help you ( i hope at least ).
First of all i think you can easily update with odin to the new ICS firmware Samsung has for GS2.( If you use windows 7 run as administirator )
You can find many tutorials on youtube of how to do that.
Remember to back up all of your data before updating because they will be erased.
After installing fresh ICS firmware (official 4.0.3) you will need to do a factory reset.
Now for your second problem i think it might be an app problem which requires power from your CPU and that's why your phone is overheating and the battery is draining that fast.
I would suggest after using an app to kill it via the task manager so it won't run at the background demanding dedication from the system.
If that doesn't work also try re-installing all of your apps.
Hope you find this kinda useful friend and solve your problems.Take care
Thanks for the reply!
But before I upgrade with odin, don't I need to know the codes (representing where your phone is from etc.)?
I've found them under settings. They are:
Baseband: I9100XXKI4
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKJ3-CL647431 [email protected]#2
Build number:GINGERBREAD.XWKJ3.
And how do I backup all my files? Especially contacts, text messages and whatsapp messages?
No problem ! Im glad that you found my info somehow helpful!
Now as i said earlier im not that kind of expert so giving the current sittuation i don't really know. You should search on the internet for your firmware available for your country and also you can search at sammobile.com then go to firmwares then select the Smartphone option then Android and you should be good to choose the firmware and download it for your region/country. ( Terribly sorry for not giving a link but xda forums are saying that i need more than 10 posts to post a link.
So good luck with that one :good:
I never tried it myself but i've seen that people backup their contacts, texts and apps with KIES so you should give it a try :good:
Either than that, this is all i know and im really sorry if i can't help you any further as im new here too
Alright thanks for the help.
I made a backup of my contacts, whatsapp messages and text messages on my SD card. I'm almost gonna start using Odin. (You don't need a rooted device in order for Odin to work, right?). And I also only got a .tar file from the downloaded package from Sammobile.com, is that all I need?
I'll post the results
Yes Odin will work with unrooted and rooted devices!
I don't know if that's the file, i would do a little search before updating about the files and remember to watch a video on youtube to help you with the process !
Things to remember : If you are on windows vista/7 run Odin as administirator
After installing the firmware do a factory reset / clear cache
Good luck! I hope somebody more experienced than me will help you better than i did . :good:
Haha alright thanks for the help.
I used Odin this afternoon, with succes! I updated to 4.0.3 (only using the .tar file) and after that I factory reset my phone.
Also, I managed to succesfully retain my text/whatsappp messages + contacts, so everything's fine.
I'm going to try out my phone for a couple of days and I'll report if anythings wrong with it.
Really glad that things went in the right direction for you
Just a quick thought now, our Samsung Galaxy S2 will get a new update to 4.0.4 which is reported to be far better than the current one and will be available on the upcoming weeks so be prepared to do another update
But anyway you did a great job! :good:
