I have a quick question about this recovery. Do u flash this over xrecovery with xrecovery?
I know about the .52 baseband it must be on. So some help will be great. I would love to flash the new 2.2 pure cyanogen ROM kxhawkins and try its speed.

Morning....
Im currently running 2.2.1 by Trip and i would like to get to x10 free beta 3 - 4
Looking around, it seemes i need to go back to 2.1, then update the baseband , then i can go with x10 b3-4....
Does that sound right?
Nope, u can directly flash the basëband using flash tool by bin4ry
And then flash beta4 using xRecovery
Note: not all ROMs support the new baseband except the latest stock SE & a few custom.
Edit : Use steve.adams.x10 's guide for flashing via flash tool.
Happy flashing
Regards
kLouD

You can flash beta3 through xrec with your current rom but if you want beta4 you should flash the latest baseband first using flash tool. Search at androxyde and steve adam's thread for guide.

Hey all, i need help installing a custom kernel. I dont quite understand what i need to do. Am running Wolfbreaks CM and under his post, there were instructions to install baseband 52 and patch before installing kernel. I am currently on baseband 54. Do i just flash the kernel or do i still have to install baseband 52 over my mod?

You should flash the correct baseband using flash tool. Then do an xrec backup. Flash the custom kernel you want to use using xrecovery and reboot. You can verify that you are running the custom kernel by going to the about phone section of settings. If you choose to revert to the stock kernel you can restore your previous backup using xrecovery

Thanks but i have another question. by the end of flashing custom kernel, i should be having baseband .52 with custom kernel and running wolfbreak's custom rom. Will there be any incompatibility? Cause i was having baseband probs an hour ago and just reflashed WB's rom. Will there be no problems? Or should i flash yet a new baseband after custom kernel installation? like .58 or .54?
EDIT2: Apparently i was having probs with direct update to v06..had to go with increments from v54 to be on the safe side..trying for the last time today to get that kernel on..
flash baseband with flashtool and custom kernel with xrec its easy bro
x10a

no need to reply, i don't know how to remove thread or i would
Your version says 2.2. Are you running a ROM or did u put down 2.2 instead of 2.1 by mistake. SE didnt release 2.2 firmware. Just want the facts right so i can help or others can help.

Im tired of waiting i have an x10a im going to flash gb already, what should i do? Flash stock and wait for root? Or search for that pre-rooted stock ive heard about?
Ive read about the wb rom but i dont want to miss any features of the stock(sorry if i dont know, noob at the whole custom rom stuff?.
But i had my 2.1 rooted and i loved it(specially the ability to control cpu usage)

Root is already out for gb

Oh thats good, so it would be better to flash stock and root, but i just heard(read) so many good things about the wb rom im undecided, what features of stock would i be missing with wb?

If you look at wb Rom it comes with the gingerbread baseband to flash if you already have root on 2.1 you dont need to upgrade to stock gingerbread flash the Rom dont reboot then flash the baseband then reboot gingerbread with root and xrecovery

i'm also x10a originally but there's absolutely nothing wrong in flashing a x10i, looks like baseband 71 works on all regions.
Yay now running gb, feels like a new phone(at least on-screen)
Sent from my x10a"i"(running pre-rooted 2.3.3) thanks doomlord:-D
If you don't want to miss anything, don't use custom ROM. Just root to delete unneed apps and xRecovery to install plugin. It works perfect.
