sorry if this is inappropriate to be here.
iv pretty new to xda and finding it very good.
i have a galaxy 3 i5800
and a x10 mini pro
the 5800 is very easy to install custom roms
BUT im finding it pretty hard to find a complete good rom for the x10.
im gone through other treads and topics and only found slades rom to work for me so far but not quite what im after,
so im hoping you could point me to a few roms that work well with the x10 pro.
many thanks Stu
(ps please move to the right place if needed}
There aren't any complete roms yet, the best you can do is install a froyo/gingerbread dev rom and report bugs so they can be fixed.
do you have a link to one you would use?
Here are some links but I wouldn't use any of them as my main OS yet as they still contain bugs.
I suggest you set your phone up how you like it, install xrecovery, backup your system then experiment with the new roms. You can always restore your backup to get the phone back to it's original state.

And t is the most stable ive used so far. been using for prob almost 5 days now. no reboots and everything is working perfectly. Anyway, have a look around and you'll find what you are looking for.

Hi, really sorry if posted before please dont flame shout or anything else.
i have managed to root my x10i.
my phone has the following details
uk on 3
firmware 2.1 update1
baseband 2.1.54
kernel version 2.6.29
build number 2.1.a.0.435
what i want to know is what should i do now???? i would like to install a new rom.
which one do i choose.... there are many threads with links here, there, and everywhere and i am finding it confusing, i am new to this and would appreciate any help and advice that you could part to a willing and eager x10i user.
i would prefer to use/have a fully working rom inc camera and video playback.
i understand this will limit my options,
i dont mind using a stripped down stock rom.
thanks in advance for any help
It is possible for you to get 2.2, but dont know which version is the best, thinking rdannar or what he's called. it doesn't have a functioning cam, but you can get that from apps.

mmmh the camera works in most of the roms but the quality really isnt great. there is a 2.1custom stripped down se rom which im using and that is full functional and much faster than the standard se. just go through the 1st to pages on the android development and take your pick, they all list whats working and whats not.the 2.1 roms will mostly be fully functional
i got my x10a last week on friday an within 12 hurs rooted 1.6 installed 2.1.a.0.435 rooted that installed Root Explorer, xRecovery, hunnycomb 2.1 rom.
used this to install new F/W

Well.
Have you considered the applications you can use?
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/07/13/8-great-apps-every-rooted-android-user-should-know-about/ (I know.. Old news, but still gives some idea)
Regarding ROMS: If you paint a SAAB blue, it doesn´t become a Volvo. Some parts of the 2.2> roms still uses big parts o the 2.1-update 1 firmware and it uses the same bootloader
thanks guys for all the replys and links. i have just used the go3easys rom
Hi All,
I purchased an X10 Mini Pro yesterday and I rooted last night.
I am now looking for the most stable ROM to put on my phone, I just don't know which one has had more development put into it.
Is it possible to use 'X10 Mini' ROMs on the X10 Mini Pro?
Appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction into which ROM I should put on my phone in terms of stability and functionality. Many thanks!
You can not use the rom from the mini for the mini pro...
the only advice is try them. backup your present rom first and then flash one of the few. try it for a couple of days and flash another.
you will find the rom that suits you most this way.
I'm using the Floyo rom and happy with it.
as all roms they are still under developement. things are not working random reboots may occur.
as said in other forums. there is no best rom. all roms are made to personal taste of the developer and that might you like more or less depending the rom. just try the roms available as said before. this is the only way.
read the threads about the roms they will give you all the info you will need.
@wilcovh
Okay thanks for getting back to me m8...
the most stabile and functional rom is the stock rom at this moment.
sorry guys, but you know it's like that. custom roms still need some bugfixes, but the progress is very promising.
hi,
you want a good and stable custom room?
well the best for now is the Foyo rom. it is almost bug free...(only 2 or 3 bug know bugs) and it have some themes options....
see the topic here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961783
Floyo v3.4 reboots often, but I couldn't find any other bugs. If you can (I can) tolerate these reboots, I think this is the best choice.
Temes
i cant boot to xrecovery after installed v3.4
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=951274
and instal xRecovery.
But xRecovery should be working after installed v3.4
Maybe you did something wrong.
There's no random reboot on mine using CM6 3.4, try to reflash your phone and then install 3.4, I didn't see any bugs imho. Instead complaining about the bugs for each rom, try to help the dev by supporting they work and help them find a solution.
Try 3.4 for daily basis it's quite stable. CM7 V5 is still a little bit buggy in some vital section.
Hello everyone, I´m new on the android word and just got myself an x10 mini, and would like to install a ROM. the real thing im after is the ability to save apps to SD, I tried installing App2sd, using a tutorial in these forums, but it completely broke android 3 times, getting stuck on an endless reboot cycle.
Now that that option is out of the window I am looking at ROMS.
My phone is flashed with an international firmware, with band M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015, Android 2.1. What would be the best ROM (given persona experience) fully working, of course?
Thank you,
DamDSx
hi im pretty new too, but found it quite easy, i installled 2.3.3, i havent got time right now to post the links il get back 2 you if you havnt sorted it, but you can get all links and software from this site, the easiest way i found was using superoneclick to root, just one click! then youl need xrecovery to backup (just incase) &restore then browse for the rom you want to use, if you have a look you'll find all these on here with n00bie instructions 4 us beginners, hope this helps some what.
Im going with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200675
Currently backing up with Xrecovery, but im not sure if I need to wipe user data and cache? the rom guide does not say anything

welcome 2 android
ROM's are of personal taste and as the camera problem of gingerbread is fixed, most of the ROM's are fully working.....as u r new to android, i would suggest you to go for MiniCM7 2.0.5 as the MiniCM is perfectly "tailored" for the mini's small screen estate...however, other ROM's like GingerDX, FroyoBread, MiniCM6, Andread etc are very stable alternatives too ..i am using "FRoyoBread" latest version because i find the battery consumption to be less than the Gingerbread builds
if you are after the ability of moving the apps to SD, most ROM's would suffice. But, i'll give u a caution, don't move apps with "Widget" support or "operational" apps to the SD card...many a time u will get a "problem loading widget" popup or your SD card won't show up on the computer.
try some ROM's until u find the one u would like the best...most of the ROM's are great because OUR DEVS ARE AWESOME
if i helped you, press the "THANKS" button

Thank you. Android is awesome!
I´m trying GingerDX, the only problem I have found is the keyboard. it was too big for the screen (Unmodified X8 port) but ThickButtons from the market fixed it. Loving Gingerbread so far. On a side note, my new phone, and thus Android, has put some stress between me and my wife, because ive been spending more time with the phone than with her! lol!
Indeed the devs are awesome. THANK YOU!!!!!
Hey guys...
I know it may seem a bit strange to post here since i own an HTC DS
but i am an old X10 user until i've lost it 1,5 year ago..
Anyway, i have this friend of mine who would like to have his phone
Rooted and run a new ROM on it.
Since i have much more experience in flashing and programming he
asked me to do it for him.
So you will be asking now, where is the problem in all these?
It has been a long time since i've changed phone and the rooting method
has changed i guess...
Can someone provide me an easy way to get rooted since it is NOT my phone
and i dont want to get in trouble?
PS. I've checked most of the roms in the forums, since i cant test them and etc,
Can someone tell wich is the most stable XperiaS looking ROM for x10 ?
Root using Flashtool, then install any ROM you like, i'd suggest you use Cobrato's MiUI or DonutHD or FeraLab, these three are the most stable in my own experience, i only installed these for quite a while, other members may help you with their opinions on other roms
good luck!
Most stable rom as used before is Oodie X prime MiUI, kernel based on developer (ooDie kernel) So its stable, smooth and fastest without any problem. Then i switch to Feralab V20 and using now stable , smooth without any FC. Use ThKernel 029 or ThKernal v12-4, both is very good for Feralab v20 ROM.
U should try
ahhh thank you guys but im looking for an XperiaS-themed ROM
is there any stable one? i've seen some in the development forum but,
i cant test them xD
I would undoubtly say DiXperia, I have used for quite a while, it has the Xperia S look and feel, it's stable, fast, a great one! you can't find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557455

hmmm thank you mate, i still have some days to decide what i will be flashing on his x10, ahhh i miss my x10i,
even if DesireS is pretty amazing even after a year of having it
Fera V20 with ThKernel 12-4... perfect!!!
So, sorry to ask this here but no "General" forum for the Ray unfortunately...
My wife's Gingerbread Ray is showing some signs of fatigue and I want to update it in order to start with a fresh new Rom.
It's running stock 2.3 right now and I'm not excited to update to the official 4.0 as I've read quite a lot about its very poor reactiveness.
I am planning to go with a custom Rom. I know my wife won't like to change of UI so I'm looking for an optimized official version. But if the phone does get way more responsive with an aosp/cm9 ROM (and I'm pretty sure it will), aosp/cm9.
The thing is that it has to be stable and fully functional cause I won't be updating it daily. Actually, if it was my phone, I would test roms out for a week or two, but it's a no go here : I will have to find the right one right away or she won't be happy !
So what is the best, stable, fast, fully-functional 4.0 ROM out there ? If such thing doesn't exist yet and if I should wait a while, tell me. I'll wait.
Thanks !
the latest 4.0.4 is quite ok, have u tried it?
I think you should ask jj doctor to give you an old jj hyrid rom. Its aosp and stable.Or wait some more time when he relese the final version for 3.0 ROM
