Hello, I am currently running StreakDroid 1.9.0, I am trying to figure out how to put a shutdown and a start up sound. But when I put them in the respectable location. Nothing.
PowerOn.wav to system/etc
Shutdown.ogg to system/media/audio/ui.
I am not entirely sure if this is the correct placement or correct names for the audio files.
If anyone could please help me, it would be very appreciative.

Hi, Noob here.
Before posting this, I've researched a lot and I've still come up empty.
I'm trying to change my shutdown animation to the Galaxy S swirl with a "custom" tone - basically just removing the T-Mobile crap and leaving the Galaxy S and adding the tone. I got the the shutdown animation files from an adroidforum.
I placed the PNG files in system/media/video/shutdown. It maxed out at 64 PNG files, but there were more in the zip file. I also placed the custom tone in system/media/audio/ui - as "shutdown_128.ogg". All of this I did using Root Explorer and on the stock ROM running Froyo.
The only thing this does after following the steps is remove the jingle and shutdown animation. Nothing comes up. When I reboot or turn the phone off, a prompt screen shows up says:
Power off
Shutting down.
And it's off.
I have two questions and hoping someone can help:
1. Does anyone have another zip file containing the Galaxy S swirl shutdown animation or know if I even need one?
2. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong and know how to fix it?
Please let me know if I need to provide any add'l info or files.
Thanks in advance!
Just thought this post might have been overlooked. Can anyone assist?

1. I am sure you can search around for the shutdown, I THINK bionix might have it, just pull the shutdown folder out of the Rom.
2. Check your .cfg file in the shutdown folder. Should read the same numbers as your png's ie; Shutdown_0.png, Shutdown_1.png, Shutdown_2.png, Shutdown_3.png ect.. in your folder then the .cfg file should read 0123456789101112 ect... in it.
Also, try changing the shutdown to just shutdown.ogg and see if that helps.
I was able to change boot animation right after root by using the same methods as I used on my DINC. But I want to replace the boot sound as well. I have tried renaiming to thunderfinal.mp3, android_audio.mp3, and (VZW_) something .mp3 to no avail. Any suggestions or success?

The boot sound is the FinalThunder.mp3
If you're rooted w/stock, the file is under /system/customize/resource
If you've flashed Adrynalyne's rom, it's under /system/media
you have to rename it finalthunder.mp3.old. It worked on mine
you guys are reading his question wrong. he doesnt want to get rid of thundersound he wants to add his own music or sound.
Right, so name it finalthunder, make sure it's an mp3, and adb push it to whichever location applies to him.

has that worked for you?
I did finalthunder.mp3 and named the renamed the old file to finalthunder.old before i even posted this and still i got nothing. Does it have a specific quality or codec used?
How to Turn the ThunderBolt's Boot Sound into a Ringtone/Alarm/Notification:
1) Grab the FinalThunder.mp3 file and place it on your /sdcard.
2) Install Ringdroid or a similar ringtone maker app from the Market.
3) Find "FinalThunder" in Ringdroid and open it.
4) Select only the parts of the sound you want to keep (if you want to keep the entire sound make sure Start = 0.0 seconds and End = 8.42 seconds) and save it as a Notification sound with whatever name you want it to have in the Settings menu.
This file now is modified for notification purposes and can be found in /sdcard/media/audio/notifications/<WhateverYouNamed>.mp3.
You can choose right then and there to make it your default notification sound or you can choose it later from the Settings->Sound->Notification Sound menu.
Enjoy!
Not what I was asking but good info though. I want to replace the boot sound with something custom.
hey all.
was hoping someone can help with removing the stock audio files from my SGS4G. im using root explorer, going to system/media/audio. there i have alarms, notifications, ringtones, UI. im trying to delete, &/or overwrite some of the stock alarm & ringtones files. i long press the file & choose delete. it says file deleted, but when i back out of the folder & go back in, its there again. iv tried it in R/W & R/O but everytime i go back into the folder its there again. also tried removing/ overwriting start up & shutdown sounds & having the same problem. is there something im missing ??
im running model # SGH-T959V, froyo.vuvkd1, firmware 2.2.1, kernel 2.6.32.9
hoping someone can help.
thanks
Rooted my phone, changing the system sounds. I can't find the key-tap sound. I replaced the TW_SIP file with my own in system/media/audio/ui and restarted the phone but it still plays the default sound, which probably means i'm replacing the wrong file. Anyone know where the right one is located?

You need to replace two files in that folder
1)TW_Touch.ogg
2)S_HW_Touch.ogg
Still the same. I'll explore with the settings and files some more.
Thats strange.I have those two files on my SDCard so that every time I flash a new ROM I can instantly change the sound from the awful water drip.I take it you rebooted after changing the files?
yes.
I tried using different files, same problem.
Mods, please feel free to move this to which ever folder is appropriate.
I have a US Cellular Galaxy S5, rooted with Cyanogenmod 11 installed. I cannot for the life of me get a shutdown animation to work OR boot/shut down audio. I've been trying for about a week now to figure it out. I can change the boot animation without any real problem but I get stuck elsewhere. In my /system/media/ui folder there is an Audio folder, bootanimation.zip and two emd files. Some of the tutorials I've found talk about there being a video folder, but mine does not seem to have to have one.
Any tips?
