Hi, I have folio 100 an i cant play HD Movies. It is working only in default browser - YouTube HD. I have tried lot of players - RockPlayer, VPlayer, VitalPlayer, meridian and the default player. They write "This file cannot be played" or they start and the sound is good but video lags. I have the same problem with non HD Movies. They are going only in VitalPlayer.
Games
I can play games like AngryBirds or Buka a even can play play H.A.W.X but when I want to play Asphalt, or Spiderman Total Mayhem from Gameloft it is not working. Intro will start but then quit or not run at all. When I start Gangstar it is workinkg but almost all textures are white.
Does anyone know what can I do with it?
Try QQPlayer or MoboPlayer.
If you want your folio to output 1080p videos via hdmi you might want to try dexters folioblur, all other roms just render the video in 1024*600 and scale it up.

As for games, it's a known compatibility problem of some early gameloft's games with Tegra 2 (something like, if I recall correctly, they are using PowerVR's proprietary texture compression formats non supported by Tegra). So, just stick with Tegra games or try free versions when available.
You can find a specifig thread about gaming, here:

Other games, worms for example, might need the compatibility flag to be checked upon install and then unchecked once the data download process is finished (btw: worms works flawlessly).

Because those are HQ videos made for high end phones. But the game runs fine!!!!
Is the game only for online multiplayer play?
When I select "Play Local", no computer players join the game whatsoever
Hi there, I been searching around regarding this HD Video playback issue but till now there are just like half half situation. Some people claimed their device can run smoothly for 720P video but some said can't, therefore I would like to ask about this question again.
I have tried out few HD trailer in 720p mp4 format, coded in h.264. My result was out of 10 720P video I tried, only 2-3 able to play smoothly in my x10i, the rest will either have video lagging or require soft-decoding which will cause in video lagging as well. In short, my x10i can't play 720P well.
I have another solution in hand which is converted them still into h.264 but in resolution of 854*480, and all of these converted video worked fine. Just wondering if most of the x10i user able to play 720P video smoothly or not since conversion requires some times... Also wish to know is it the real hardware constraints for x10i to play HD video or only my device having some processing problem...
Nevertheless thank you for your answer and opinion =)

hmm that's weird, I played HD on my phone perfectly fine, didn't lag at all maybe you need to try different video players, there's some one that play HD/MKV on the market but there is no point playing HD on a non-hd screen.

I tried moboplayer, rockplayer, vplayer. They all won't able to play it smoothly, neither hard-decoding nor soft-decoding. Hmm your video size is 1280*720 or above? As far as I concerned 480P already consider as HD and my phone is able to play them well as well.
I understand there is no point playing HD on x10 screen, but all my video source are in HD format and I would like to figure out x10i capabilities in HD playing so it may save me some time doing video conversion

+1.Indeed
But give mx player or Dice Player a try they are a bit smoother.
use mx player
The built in video player seems to work fine with all my 720p HD videos.

Which ROM are you using?

I've tried every darn free player app in the market and had no great results. Either there is lag when watching videos, or there is bad pixelation/divxing. Or it won't play the files.
What do you guys use on you flyers to play HD video content? Something suitable for .mkvs and .movs...
I use DicePlayer on my Flyer and Desire HD, and 720p mkv's play flawlesly. Well worth those 3€ for the application!

Thanks. I've tried the trial version. Mkvs play well. .movs and .wmvs dont play well. It uses software acceleration for movs so its a bit choppy, though the sound works. .wmvs video is off by a second.
Has anyone tried playing any HD MKV's through the Rezound? If so, does it handle it better than Tegra 2 and utilize the screen well?
i've got a bunch of 720P .mkv files i've tried out. for the most part they play fine, but occasionally there's a slight "out-of-sync" issue. it seems the 2 best apps to use for playing these files are Dice Player and MX Video Player. the weird thing is, sometimes when a sync issue occurs, for instance if it's in MX, i'll try playing in Dice instead and it'll play fine... but there's times it'll happen the other way around to. of course, considering that the OS isn't really designed to take advantage of multi-core CPU's + the b.s. Sense & bloatware on the phone don't help either.
I have seen the same type of files play on the Galaxy Nexus as well(but through the stock player) and the GN had similiar issues as well though.. so... hmmm.. !!
Theyplay fine with moBo player for me

What's your video properties? I just tried to play Transformers: Dark of the Moon and it stutter forever.
I saw the videos in the gallery that come preloaded on the device and they look amazing. I want to be able to take my HD MKV's and have then look good and play as fluid as the pre-loaded ones. Any suggestions for that or conversion?
There is a vlc media player beta floating around in the nook color threads. It works pretty fing good, mobo seems to do the job as well. I have found that it depends on how, or what it was encoded with. I will try and post a link to the vlc file in awhile. Good luck.

ok here's one that'll play slightly "out-of-sync":
Regular Show - 309 - House Rules (720p).mkv
MPEG4 video (.H264)
1280x720 23.98fps
Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch
