I'm using DJSteve's latest but not sure if it's a general problem.
When waking the Streak using the power button it sometimes takes two or three tries to get the device on. The screen will come on but then straight back off again, or it will come on and the screen will be unresponsive to code swipes. It gets there in the end but it's annoying.
Anyone else have the same and any fix suggestions?

Dude, RMA'ed mine because of that same issue, think it is your power button. Make sure you go back to BaseBand 340 (if you are on AT&T) before you send it back to Dell.

Hello everyone,
Over the last 2 weeks, I have noticed considerable trouble with the Home key on my Tmobile Vibrant. I have to press the Home key literally 10 times before the press is recognized. It's really annoying. I am not having any problems with any of the other buttons on the phone besides the Home button.
There seems to be other people having this problem in this thread: http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f55/samsung-galaxy-s-vibrant-home-key-issue-37765/
I'm just curious if anyone else is having this issue. Perhaps I have a faulty device.... ???
I have this problem too. Is the ON button.
If you only had it for two weeks then just go to a tmo store and they should replace your phone.

I had this problem and its a known issue. You must replace it. I traded mine back and got a new one. If you want better results temporarily, I'm pretty sure you have to wait for the keys back light to go off and the press the home button. That worked for me temporarily until I exchanged it.

you could go to tmobile or wherever you bought it from to return it and check your screen protector
I have been using my steak almost one month. I am quite happy with everything. even upgrade to latest version 8105 rom. it was all fine.
but since 3 day ago, the touch screen seems refused to work from time to time.
or I am getting very slow respond. I have to keep changing my finger for better luck.
Sometime even after releasing my finger from the scree, the screen still seems on pressed. (I can tell the icon just been pressed is still in highlighted state.)
Does anyone have similar issue? this is supposed a very fast machine.
I'd like to to have your view before I return to DELL.
I'm having the same issue with the Dell Streak I bought on eBay, did you find any fix for this?
I realize that if I reboot it the problems are gone for a while...
Have you guys tried calibrating the screen?
I will try to do it and I'll give the feedback.
It's so strange because It only stops to respond after a few minutes using Dell Streak
With System Panel you may view if any app comsumes too much cpu time.
After the screen calibration it has been working really great! Thank you for remember me about the calibration!
And thanks for your great ROM!
I really need to donate you some money... but let me wait to the next month! eheh
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

I ended up replacing the screen on my streak and calibrated it and had the same problem. Seems sporadic.

My GS2 keeps rebooting, in the middle of texts, browsing etc..at first it was once in a while, now its been doing it at least 2 times every half hour. I also noticed that sometimes before it does this, when I press the power button to turn the screen off it won't turn off, it pulls up the menu with Power off, download, reboot etc..just from a quick press. I don't know what the hell is going on, I love this phone but I am about to put it through the wall!
Anyone else having this issue?
Oh and I am running UnNamed 2.2.1 with tysj's ICS theme v 2.2
Pull a last_kmsg after a reboot.
Although, based on your other issues with the power button I'm wondering if you might be having a hardware failure of the power button... Return your device to stock, if it still acts up, take it in for a warranty exchange.
I woke up, took it off the charger and its stopped -_- Idk wtf is going on with it, where is the last kmsg?
its doing it again..

My first sgsII did that too, even on the box stock rom & kernel. The at&t service center (for whatever thats worth) claimed it was a bad processor and swapped the phone out for a new one.

If you have not updated the kernel on Unnamed 2.x, there's a good chance you have a hardware problem. Return to stock, if it persists, have the phone exchanged as the hardware is defective.
If you updated the kernel to the 2/7 DD release, that has known stability issues, update to 2/15 or 2/16.
Have you tried a reboot? Usually fixes most errors.
Trololololol
thanks for the help..I went and exchanged it. Ugh I hate dealing with those people.
Sometimes when i press the power button on the side of my phone my phone will not fire up. I see the screen really vague. I need to press the button sometimes more them 10 times in order to get my phone working. It looks like the backlite is not working good. It is starting to piss me off.
Anyone else experiencing the same kind of problem?

Hey,
Sorry to say I don't know the answer to your question, but there is one thing I'd like to share with you. Samsung OLED displays don't have backlite. So it can't be broken either. Good luck finding a solution!
Stock rom = sent it back
Flash stock, if still not working, triangle away, Send it back..

I can sent it back but i dont want to miss my phone for some weeks if i can fix it myself. Then i have to go back to my S1
So you want a defective phone? Even if you fix it, you still have a defective phone. Get it sent back to the store or Samsung.. Surely you can live without it for the benefit of the time it comes to sell the device.

Are you sure you are on the most current official ROM? (This would be, starting today, Jellybean in a few countries)
Some old offical ROM's sometimes had the issue and it was annodying as hell. I have not seen it since switching to leaked Jellybean builds.
As the previous poster already said; there is no backlight so you should not be able to see anything. Maybe your eyes are playing tticks on you or you got some app such as ScreenFilter to act up.
There's is another thread about screen issues but I don't think I'm having the same problem.
Since about Feb, my venue 7 screen freezes up when it sleeps or use the button to screen lock. I can see the unit has not frozen up, as apps will still update in the background. However, the screen is completely unresponsive. My only fix is to reboot the device.
I have done a complete wipe at least 4x and tried updating firmware a couple times without luck.
Any suggestions or advance trouble shooting tips would be appreciated.

My Venue 8 is doing the same thing. The screen will freeze while the app continues. After a few calls to Dell, they are asking for me to return the tablet and they'll "fix" it. Hopefully they can as I really like the tablet.
I received a replacement unit, which I then destroyed by dropping it. They never asked me to ship the original back, so I thought I'd have another run at fixing it.
I was hope a complete wipe would help but not so far.
