can simply be unlocked from the market now, if your device is already rooted.

there u go buddy all you need to get yourself rooted.
I just updated my galaxy s2 i9100 m via keis to jelly bean 4.2.1. now phone is sim locked and not connecting to network. I updated to ics via keis and it did not lock ( when bell rolled out ics last year).
Now how do i root. Plz help as im now stuck with a locked phone. Im using this phone in pakistan (asia). any help will be appreciated.

update.....well i installed super user in stock jb 4.2.1 and then installed busy box and then galaxy s2 unlock and now im using my bell canada phone in Pakistan.
Not bad for 6 hours of work .....close the thread Mod.

down load zip file of super user, and transfer it to ur phones sd card. then turn off ur phone, put it in boot modd by pressinf up vol+menu+power button togather till a green robot fig comes on screen. Navigate to the installed file of sd card and run from there. super user will install and reboot the phone. If u r notnot techno savy get it done from expereined guy

I also have the same problem , after updating the ROMs to the latest version , the sim unlock seems to have disappeared

i am using the latest Slim bean , and the unlock.. there is no problem . use the simlock for JB roms.

AFAIK, the SHV-120S comes with a Qualcom snapdragon chipset and the 'Exynos abuse' method of rooting may not wrk on it

It's like you didn't bother to read the post. What does Towelroot have to do with unlocking the phone?
OP: You're out of luck. There's no method to unlock that phone, nor any US Cellular phone that I've seen.
