[Q] How to send chinese SMS? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I brought my Atrix 4G to China. I can receive chinese SMS no problem but I cannot send to others. Anyone know how to fix this? I was using google pinyin.

install re&SQLEditor
open /data/data/com.motorola.android.providers.settings
modify term 105 of settings.db 'sms_force_7bit_encoding’
change value from 1 to 0.

Thanks! Too bad I just returned to the USA tho

Always enable SMS delivery report?

Hi ,
I am using the XDA O2.
I found the 'Request SMS text message delivery notification'is very useful
when I send SMS to others. But I have to enable it everytime. How can I
always open this function ? maybe to modify the XDA O2 registry to get it?
Are here anybody with rich knowlege can raise a solution for me?

Great Thx
Li
you can put
*0#
as the first part of the subject. It's not permanent, but only takes a few seconds to type.
Regards
Tim
It's very annoying that you can't set this as a default, but I haven't found a solution. Even the PPC developers at MS say it is not possible at this time.
The *0# trick doesn't work for me, however. I'm on T-Mobile in the US.
this code is operator specific... it can be *n#, *0# or DREQUEST
I figured it probably was. I can't make it work. If anybody knows what the code is for T-Mobile, please post it.
Thx for so much idea.
I am in China Mainland and I tried *0#, it's useless. So could somebody can raise more special command cold here?
Regards,
Li
In Germany for T-Mobile, receipt request is *T#
Here in Norway it's *k#
Doesn't work for US T-Mobile.
For T-Mobile U.S. i beleive it's *noti#
Excellent! That's it!
And for France, SFR operator, which code???
Orange Netherlands = .... ??
does any body have more suggestions i need the UAE one but i believe it should be like france

[Q] Greyblur + 2.1.1 SBF = cannot send Unicode SMS

Hi!
This morning I flashed my Atrix 4G with U4_2.1.1 SBF and then installed GreyBlur 2.1. So far, great experience... except when I realised that all SMS I sent using Unicode (Chinese or French characters) were stripped down from all the non ASCII chars!
I can receive and type unicode... so what's going on?
Thanks for your help!

If its anything like "emoji" I use on Handcent, the other person receiving the message has to have it installed as well. For example, if you have emoji plugin installed you will receive the emoji, if not you will receive gibberish. I know anyone with an iPhone can get the emoji w/o plugin.
Thanks
Unfortunately, I am using the stock SMS application, hasn't gotten around to try things like Handcet yet... It used to work with the original ROM (French Orange), not sure if the culprit is 2.1.1 or GreyBlur.
I seem to remember there was a setting for the charset used in SMS, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

160 characters

Hello,
I bought Evo 3D today from France. I live in Greece so, when I compose a message it only shows me 72 characters. How can I enable full 160 characters in greek keyboard? The device comes with preinstalled greek keyboard.
Thanks in advance
160 isn't an international standard? That's messed up.
Its probably because of special charters (may be diacrics). I'am from czech republic and have same problem. If I use only charters a-Z message length is 160, but if I use diacritics (i.e. číáščř) message length is reduced to 70 because of different message encoding (explanation from my operator).
Well they need to fix that. I don't know why it would be an issue to have it 160 capable with those types of characters.

Well, most phones simply remove diakricics from message and sends it normally. But on my HTC I didnt see this option. Its very frustrating when you imagine that for 160 charter long message you must pay as for 3 sms.
In czech republic is solution easy... dont use diacritics But It may be problem with greek charter set.
Yes and the strange thing is that when i used to have custom rom on my hd2 i could choose greek language in the menu too. It also had 7-bit encoding in messages so I could write in greek withought 70 character limitation.

There is a ελληνικά language option in Language Settings on the SM-G9650 Snapdragon. The set language will be displayed in all apps preinstalled on the phone, even keyboards. Text on Greek apps or websites shouldn't be an issue since you can chose almost any language in your web browser. Not sure about emergency calls however my SM-G9650 does allow 3 digit calls.
thanks man... and a last one can i install apps that require root access or its only aveliable on exynos variants???

Either variant should allow root access but be careful, once certain apps gain root access you've surrendered critical security abilities and the app may be accessing more than you realized.

Found a Oppo cloud any country sign in page

So
I found this page https://id.oppo.com/login?region=en
It will let you use any number from any country. I signed up ok with my UK number.
But I still can't sign in to My Oppo on the phone, as it still want's a Chinese number
Anyone tried this with success?
I got it to work
I used that link to sign up with my UK number.
After I went to My Oppo app on the phone. Now this is what caught me out.
If you are in the UK, you have to miss the 0 from your mobile number.
So if it's 099887766 you type in 99887766
Then a new option on teh left pops up where you can chose any country in the world.
Then put your password from the sign up. It will send a text to your number, and that's it
Now to see what benefits(if any)it brings.
Well the only thing you get is some cloud space.
I was hoping that I could change the launcher...but no...
Hello
Im Turkish so my English is bad...
I need OPPO Cloud APK but ı couldnt found it
I would appreciate if you add
