[Q] which one is the best kernel - Optimus One, P500, V General

i everyone i need some advice.
which is the best kernel out there with minimized bugs!!
FYI I'm on rooted stock 2.2.2(if that matters)
I'd like to overclock it as well.
I tried to play hd game but it didnt even played the beginning video.
So i guess flashing with the modded kernel is an good option if i'm not willing to flash with whole new custom firmware.
Edit: Just installed custom recovery 1.2

You may try DookMatt kernel.
I can OC at 806mhz without any problems.

For hd games you must find the correct version to download and i think that we cant play all hd games released

I tried golf and a couple of others none of them worked.

for me the most difficult is to found the playable versions of the games to download

Try franco.Kernel.v6. "Supposedly" the best..

Does ROM and kernel go together or can we use any kernel on any ROM? i.e. Say can we flash franco's kernel on Mik's CM7 ROM?

Im using megatron rom it is froyo ver. 2.2 it is very stable no bug at all.
But i recommend you to flash francisco devoid rom.
It is actually depend of what you actually need. Check it out on optimus one android development forum here. You can find fabulous rom there you cab choose to flash or maybe you can learn how to create your own rom. Goodluck

The above post says it all....I would also suggest you to try out mik's CM7 b6.5, it's nearly complete in all respects besides a few bugs...
I use devoid.franco with franco.kerner v13. If you want this ROM I advise you to use AmonRA Recovery.
i m on clockmod recover now how can i do AmonRA Recovery on my device plz help me
u don't need AmonRa. just boot into the recovery by going on terminal
su
reboot recovery
i too have clockwork 3.1 recovery right now... which is better? AmonRa or Clockwork? and can u flash a new recovery from the recovery or do u have to do some adb stuff? Not sure how flashing a different recovery works
ROM
I'm currently using devoid franco & his kernels. It is minimal & I get a decent battery life
Finally I have decided to go with devoid.Franco.
Thank you all guys for suggestions.

Ok here is a link that will explain what all of it is Roms, Kernels, Custom recovery...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900905
Second is a link to all the links you will need sort of a how too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901247 when installing a custom ROM i would go with either MIks CM7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354 or Void .... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125870
anyways here is a link that will get you started just fallow the instructions to T it is not that hard and well worth it once you get to the part about installing the Rom you can pick your own or one one of the two i suggested above so here it is http://tablet-crunch.blogspot.com/2011/01/lg-optimus-t-rooting-recovery-rom.html

One more que bro is it necessary to flash ZRAM module also ?

I do not recommend using the kernel franco in Stock ROM 2.2. There some lag when touching screen and frequent FC. The phone runs noticeably slower than that with the kernel adapted to the 2.2. In thread dedicated to the franco kernel was written, that it is not suitable for stock roms.
Better use this, it is stable.

[Q] ics kernel

what would be a recommended kernel for uclf6 version rom? i want to overclock some to speed this phone up.

Anyone der to help me... I wanna flash my rom but am away from a pc... So cant flash kernel
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
I think it's better if you find a pc to use to flash it, 'cause you can't do it from it from the device itself if you don't know or don't have the recovery installed...
you can use but with minor edits to source
I have the recovero.... It seems informaciĆ³n will need to flash the kernel from pc..... Cause when i flashed Cm 9 without the kernel that came in it my phone got stuck in boot Screen....... Luckily i had a nandroid backup

i cant excatly guarantee for it to work because we need minor changes in source to fit in the different api so ... this just might be your case why not ask someone to upload the kernel for you
I guess the only way to flash it by using the kernel i got in the rom..... Btw thanx for the reply apprentiate it

You definitely can't use the CM7.2 kernel for CM9.1. There are a lot of differences between the two since one is GB based and the other is ICS based.
boot.img
please can anyone tell me in detail , what is boot.img for??????
Boot.img contains all the files required for the device to boot such as kernel and ramdisk. Without it, the device can't start. Boot.img when flashed, will copy all files to the /boot partition.

That's partially true. For example, ICS ROMs for my HTC Desire HD used the 2.6 GB kernel as there was no official ICS kernel update from HTC. But the 2.6 ICS kernels required a lot of hacks, forward ports from various ICS kernel branches and backports from GB to work with ICS. For lack of a newer kernel version, the 2.6 kernel was used, but it was very different from the 2.6 GB kernel. It took months of hacks and hard work for devs to get everything working on the ICS ROMs with the 2.6 kernel. After Jelly Bean was released, it would have taken a ton of work to get the 2.6 kernel to work with it and not everything would have worked properly. Fortunately, Team Virtuous made a custom 3.0.xx kernel for the Desire HD all on their own, effectively making any kernel update from HTC's side useless, even if they did choose to release it. Another dev took this kernel and improved upon it like hell, and now we have perfectly working 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.
Of course, I might not be fully right about this because I'm no developer, but I've been following the ICS and JB threads for my phone for a long time and this is the way development was for it.

[Q] Are there any gingerbread kernels still available?

I really like gingerbread ROMs the best because I think they are lighter and faster, but the problem is, either when I get a GB ROM there is a stock kernel or if there is a ROM with a pre kernel in it, the download isn't there, and if I have one with a stock kernel I can't find a GB kernel to flash anywhere (because download isn't there). If anyone knows where I can get one that would be awesome! Because if i can have gb with it overclocked it will go super fast!!!
