How are the angry birds games with the CM7 or Gingerbread ROMS?
I haven't been able to upgrade so all the Angry Birds games are very slow and LAGS ALLOT on my LG Optimus one..
Do the Angry Birds games still lag and stuff with Gingerbread ROMS? Does other games also work faster with Gingerbread ROMS?
Please reply. Thank you

use lagfix kernel. search through the forum for tutorials. you need root and custom recovery. lagfix helps the device from being a lag generator.
I installed andy's ROM with 2.3.2 and angry birds ran without lag.
Works great on my CM7 overclocked @ 710mhz
On the stock ROM some levels were almost impossible to play.
Runs flawlessly with aosp cm7 over clocked at 780

void echo rom has prebuilt lagfix so not only angry birds but also pes2011, nova and other games work fine
angry birds vanilla, seasons, and rio works fine

Anyone else having problems playing Samurai 2 and Battleheart ? It's lagging way too much for it to be playable, I'd assume Defy hardware would be able to run them without problems...
ps: CM7 RC1 v2, standard 1ghz oc
Defy also laggs in Mega Jump, mega jump is a game that requires less high-end hardware then asphalt hd..asphalt hd works awesome..

What version of asphalt hd are you playing. I tried some but were laggy, not for Defy hardware
Thanks in advance.

i just want to know if im the only one who experiences lags with angry birds rio and if i can do something to fix it
I dont have any lag by angry birds. What rom are you using?
Put your phone to airplane mode. It will get rid of those nasty CPU intensive ads. It'll be 100% better.

you could use AdFree app from the market but you should have superuser access..
Free up some of your ram before playing and oc will also help

What I have noticed myself if the black screen (screensaver) activates and you take it out, it'll lag until you restart the program. I figured it was a bug with Angry Birds. If you restart it over again, it'll be lag free until the screen goes black again.
Its nothing to worry about, everybody has this problem.First, root your phone. Then, install Adfree, this will help you a bit. Then, flash CM or Ice cream Sunday 2 and lags will be a thing of the future
when i play angry birds i play with no internet and im using rooted stock but for cpu boost im using SetCpu at max 800/800 and ram manager at max and Speed Boost and autokiller memory optimizer at max and many more boosts but still i lag on angry birds

Which ROM?
Ace is just too slow, CyanogenMod makes it quite faster, but cant change the fact that most current games are designed for more powerfull devices.

Yes, but which one?
its 2.3.3 KP7
Ace dosn't have a very good hardware to play, use a custom rom based on Cyanogenmod and if you want better gameplay you can overclock your CPU a little.
I think ICE Cream Sunday 2 it's the fastest rom at the moment for ace (I don't tested it yet), another good rom is GingercruztV2.3, It has OC kernel, and looks very nice
I have my SGA unrooted and repaired with JTAG and I had lag first days of using it but then its normal as always

This obviously is not a problem if I don't experience lag, stock or CM7.1.
There is the bug with the screensaver kicking in though.

I've recently shifted to Omega v27 and most Hi-Def , largely- sized {if that's actually a phrase} games that ran flawlessly on ICS are refusing to start up now. I'd just like to know what games actually run.
For now,
Modern Combat 3
Brothers in Arms 2
Nova 3
Dead Trigger
aren't working. Any clues on what to do for this or what alternatives I can look for?

Good question i just tried to install Nova3 on Foxhound 0.7 (XXDLIB)
I've got nova 3 and dead trigger on XXDLIB, but I'm on stock standard rom which has just been rooted. Both the games are working perfectly fine.
I've also used directory bind app and moved the data for these to have to external sd.
I've had no issues with either of those two games.

I'm not familiar with the directory bind app. What does it do?
this is the problem with custom roms.. they break compatibility with some apps.. thats why i swore to stay stock + rooted forever.. those games work perfectly on stock DLIB by the way..
directory bind is very helpful.. its in the themes and apps section of the SGS2.. i believe it was also posted in this section..

Omega isn't really a "custom" custom ROM. It's rooted, deodexed and zipalinged with a few REALLY really useful sprinkles here and there as far as I know. The rest is what we choose from Aroma. And I made sure I didn't change anything too much drastically. But all that apart, is there any huge game that universally works on all Sammy JB Builds and derivatives without issues?
those "useful sprinkles" often times cause some apps to break.. because it still changed something in the code..
and as far as "huge games" are concerned, here's a list of my games that are working in stock DLIB..
asphalt 7
the amazing spiderman
fifa 2012
nova3
modern combat 3
gangstar rio
max payne
eternal legacy
real racing 2
shadowgun
mass effect
final fantasy 3
virtua tennis
sonic 4 ep1 & ep2
the dark knight
heroes call
all of these and more, also worked on the last 5 JB leaks (DLI4 to DLI8) and the latest ICS firmware (BLH3).. usually, if a game doesn't work on a stock rom, then its an app issue and should be addressed by the developer..

Thanks for the list. The reason I asked was because I ran most of these games on both the leaked stock builds of JB as well as their Omega counterparts. This was the first time I came across this problem and hence the question.
I'll try these out. Thanks !
its got nothing to do with being on a custom rom - I'm on omega v27 also - dead trigger, modern combat 3 and nova 3 all work perfectly fine for me.
All I can suggest is to reinstall them :/

I know most of the custom ROM's include the transparency bug fix for the user interface.
Perhaps that is causing it? Am on latest Omega and I don't think it was included with the list of patches, but it is in there.
(Yes got all excited thought the bug was fixed on LIB, but no, the patch was there and not on the list of modifications eek)
Sorry can't comment on the games more, ain't been playing much. Do have a few of those non reported to work ones but. I'll get back if I figure them out.
Swyped on I9300 - XXDLIB - Siyah kernel - JKay & Thunderbolt tweaks.
