Is there any easy PC app(exe) that i can use to easily flash ROMS to my phone and stuff like that? Like just a "Flash ROM to Phone" button or something... or an easy to use app. One that is compatible with the LG optimus one.
I am not able flash ROMS and stuff, I tried like 100 times and I never succeed. I read all the tutorials and stuff but i never succeed in flashing anything.
I have a rooted LG Optimus one. Nothing flashed on it or recovery's and stuff like that..
I saw one somewhere but i cant find it anymore.... And it did not work on my phone.. Please tell me if there is one that I can use?
Or at least any super super easy way..
Afaik, there's no such app for our o1. Instead, you can share your problems of flashing roms and we can help you out where you stuck at?

I am to afraid to brick my phone.. I bricked mine at least 4 times and had to take it to shop.. Wish I could just take it somewhere and pay someone to do it.. I have however put different firmware on my phone(V10A) using KDZ...
Is there perhaps someway that n person can make a rom into a kdz file so that I can use KDZ to put a ROM on my phone..

Hello all i have a lg Optimus c (cricket) rooted via ginger break, LG-LW690 Android 2.2.1 kernel 2.6.32.9 and from what i can gather it is the same as the metro pcs version the optimus m. either way i am trying to install a customer recovery and Rom and cant a find any thing that is 100 % as far as flashing a custom recovery and a Rom for this device, again the device is rooted, any help would be appreciated . Thanks in advance.
I have the same phone and it does in fact have some metro pcs files I found with root explorer. This is my second optimus c, after I used rom manager to attempt to backup my rom which ended with a brick. So the only advice I have is be careful.

HOW TO....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007244
i am using amonra version 1.2. it is so safe and foolproof and do not use rom manager cause its the best tool to brick ur phone if u dont know what ur doing.
please collect all the information from all how tos in xda forum before attempting
any modifications on ur phone.please take care while installing custom recovery, make sure in choosing the files that it is really made for ur phone model unless a fastboot scenario may occur.

Ya i also have a cricket LG optimus C and wanted to flash custom roms. Mine is rooted but all i have read is bad bricky stories about ROM Manager etc... Whats the best rom? Or is there not a functioning one that is safe? If someone has got any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
It can't be done there is no custom recovery you will have to be happy with root, there is a recovery called thunder but allot of horror stories, there is a full guide to flashing evo to cricket you may want consider that , the file system for cricket and metro PCs vary from model with out a way to tell that's why flashing is dangerous. There are cricket phones that are fully supported here on xda do not flash anything to this device its not worth the Risk check out wirefly.com and cyanogen. Any phone on there will have an idiot proof guide to flashing roms , I recommend t mobile or sprint, again the evo 4g can be used on cricket its only 500 our a hard credit hit
Optimus C added
Just saw Optimus C was added to CWM recovery.....Maybe new doors have been opened...maybe just a little to late.

THANKS
Can anyone else help Im trying the bricked phone thread, but once i plug in the device to any power source it just stays on the lg screen.
I think you'll need to flash stock rom using KDZ.
I'm not sure, though. Can someone else with more experience confirm this?
remove battery then put it again if no change i think u will need install stock rom via KDZ ..
Stock rom? Kdz? i havent a clue...all I know is that it doesnt respond to any buttons I press.
Better go to lg service
I think you try to flash recovery the wrong way.
And know you make it difficult......
I think (as rapharias said)you take a look for kdz or maybe if you take a look for flashing v20 gingerbread roms with lgmdp tool(i havent tried it yet because my phone is working and im a little afraid to do this.but in your case i will tested .
But first of all READ well first.

I am a complete noob when it comes to Android devices and I would like to root my SGS2 but I'm scared that I will mess up and 'Brick' my phone. Also what are the Pros and Cons of rooting a device?
Basic info of the phone...
Android build : Gingerbread.XWKI8
Version : 2.3.5
Kernel Version : 2.6.35.9-1900XWKI8-CL616395
[email protected] #2
Use the latest version of SuperOneClick. You'll need some drivers, install KIES to get them.
The best way would be for you to go to the forum section dedicated to your device instead of asking in the wrong forum.

Good luck! Suroot is gtg...although cf will install CWM to your phone...so then you can then flash anything straight from your phone without having to plug into your PC.

So, I see someone already helped you.To prevent this question being asked again, cuz its probably going to, the easiest way is flashing a CF root kernel with Odin [ the only thing you have to do is find the suitable version, turn the phone into download mode Volume Down + Menu + Lock button, then press volume up I think.
Connect the phone to the pc via usb, double click on odin, wait till it recognizes ur phone, load the CF root in the pda tab and click flash. You wait a minute and you are done.

ooohhh naokilla please translate lol Suroot is gtg... translation? CF will install clockwork versus ....?
I manged to do the whole rooting last night pretty smoothly (as well as unlocking it).
I am now just wondering what custom rom to put in CM9 maybe? I currently have CM7 on my myTouch 3g
Gtg...good to go......cf root will install clockwork mod on your phone....meaning u wont need to use odin on your pc to flash another rom(unless its a tar: file......with cwm you flash using your phone by going in to the cwm app and selecting cwm recovery.....its much quicker than odin flashing.just make sure u make a backup before u flash

There are some good custom roms on android original development forum.
I personally use italian custom rom, gives you good battery life and looks. for more info please see this post "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1162715"
you can always change the rom if you don't like it as long you have rooted your fone and you have CWM (Clock work mod) installed..
Happy flashing..
don't forget to press thanks button,,
You can use the CF-ROOT method. For me it has been the easiest, safest & quickest I have found:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
If you dont find the exact version of your firmware, dont worry, try to use the most similar. It should work. As they say in the post, if you use more than 30 seconds in getting root, you need some practice.
Hey guys. I am not from around here. You will normally find me hanging out in the Nexus forums. I need some help trying to correct an issue my noob buddy caused on his E970. He brought it to me today in a boot loop and apparently he rooted it an uninstalled some GAPPS and now he has this security error and BL. Now, so far I have managed to install the drivers..... that's it. I have worked on a variety of different devices but I am really having trouble with this. I think the issue is I can not find a thread that is comprehensive enough to explain what alot of the different tools are and what they do. I mean there is
1. LGNPST
2. Teenybin
3. Freegee or something like that
Then there about 14 different file types depending on the tool you are using. I have seen;
1. dll
2. bin
3. kdz
4. tot
I have to be honest with you guys this is confusing as hell. I keep coming across dead links and old downloads and stuff that may not work. I REALLY don't like using stuff not linked from XDA as that is all I've known for many years (not to say other sites aren't reputable but you never know) I can follow instructions and figure out most stuff on my own but due to the in completion of alot of this stuff and dead links I am kinda stuck I am gonna give it another go tomorrow but in the meantime if someone wants to drop me a link or word of advice as to where to at least start it would be awesome. I am pretty handy generally with this kind of thing but I guess that goes to show you sometimes you are only as good as the tools and directions you are working with. Thanks XDA Community! :good:
Okay the first three.
3.lgnpst is the program you will need to use to fix the security error which was caused by removing bloat without unlocking bootloader.
2.teenybin is used with lgnpst to unlock bootloader, update partitions to jb, and install recovery. It doesn't install firmware but could be used to restore if a rom was copied to sd to flash.
3.freegee is used to unlock bootloader and install recovery on a working phone.
Next four.
1.dll are files needed by windows.
2.bin is the extension the file needs to be for using lgnpst.
3.kdz is stock firmware for use with lgflashtool (used mainly for international phones)
4.tot is the extension the stock firmware is released with which will be renamed to bin before using lgnpst.
In the additional info section of teenbin thread there is a click to show content button that will have have links and guide for lgnpst. Use the tSilenzio version and it will register the DLL files on install.

Thank you. This is exactly what I needed. Someone just to say "these are what these things are and what they do". I do have to admit I don't fault my buddy too much for soft bricking this thing as of all the devices I've rooted or flashed to this seems the most confusing. And also it's very odd that if you remove BW without first unlocking the bootloader you get this error..... Why can't they all just be as easy as a Nexus? Lol.

A few other things that may help.
1.lgnpst is a pain with windows 8
2.it will not work with USB 3.0
3.be sure to right click lgnpst exe and run as admin
I got my OG right after release but had already been following forum, and would hate to have to jump in now and try to figure things out.

Well its especially difficult when someone just brings you a phone and you've never even seen it booted up and you don't know all the weird quirky rules it has (like if you uninstall GAPPS without unlocking the bootloader then you get a bootloop.) lol Otherwise it seems like a solid phone. It has almost the same specs as my Nexus 4.

This link is for a flashable zip of rooted stock jb. If you used the teenybin files with lgnpst then flashed it with recovery the end result would be stock rom with unlocked bootloader, root, and custom recovery.

Yes, once you're unlocked & rooted you will be good to go. I would recommend flashing an established rom and installing the GApps that are recommended. It would be a lot more convenient and less of a hassle.
Make sure you are using TWRP, CWM was causing bugs with flashing of some roms. Hope this helps.

Awesome and once I've flashed a good rom. Would that then circumvent any future boatloads caused by modifications etc.? So in other words are those proprietary (catches) cooked out when the devs set up a rom? I would imagine so. I know most of us folks hate that kinda thing... Lol
BTW any tips on a good solid stable Jelly Bean Rom? Would want it to be pretty stable since it's not my phone... Lol

Aw ? I don't really understand those things, and I'm very afraid of bricking my phone. Those one click root ways? Are they not effective? Before the updates, I successfully rooted another P780 using Framaroot, but then I tried to do those flash or whatsoever things and bricked the phone. The phone I'm using right now is just a replacement, so I really just want to root it ?
