I have posted this in the dev section as I think this will be of interest to the devs. I seen this thread in the general section and downloaded the schematics not expecting much, but they are comprehensive and show all the address lines. this would also be handy for someone who has to do work on their phone. There is also a full parts list and disassembly guide.
Edit: I pm the chap and received a quick reply he is quit a technical chap (or girl)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13493382#post13493382
Thanks for the link thread and btw I'm not a girl lol.
I'm now making a complete flow diagram for the phone with address data as I'm a hard ware person and I'm hoping it will help the development of the software by the devs.

I see there is an editor that says it wont work for Thunderbolt.
Any suggestions???
If you read around the devs have said changing it for the time being reeks havoc on the framework.

Did this question really need 2 threads?

Please don't double post. Especially in the same forum.
No, thats not a storm. Its just my Thunderbolt layin down this post.
WOW!!!!
Ask a question and get a bunch of forum police really being part of the solution!!!!!
You could've just asked the moderator to send it to the proper place.
Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
People DO make mistakes and I didn't even realize that I made one.

Hey guys i hope someone can help me out. iv been a longtime user and hacker of android os but never got into the app side of things but now im looking to create an app for a website forum. its not my website or forum im just trying to help them out and said i would look into it. but having no previous coding experience etc i need your help if you can spare some wisdom.
The forum is a simple machines forum which iv been told is a pain since not all that compliant withmobile format.
Basicly i want an app similar to that of the xda one. on start up the company logo then once in the list of categories followed by threads. with an option for people to log in obviously. thats all i would need just now anyway. just something that would allow a better rendering of the forum on mobile.
Im sure there must be something that needs to be done from the forum owners side to enable mobile rendering but Any feedback would be great.
Thanks guys and girls

Tapatalk hosts many forums. I believe that you can contact Tapatalk or visit their website and get instructions on how to make the forum compatible with Tapatalk. While Tapatalk is a paid app, it's a lot easier than building an app.
And you can get Tapatalk for free on GetJar. Don't know how long the promotion will last, but if you get it up and running that would be something you could let the forum members know.

Yeah, I'm about to get flamed, sorry about it. After the treatment shown recently to developers and other established and respected XDA members, as well as the closing of GOOD threads, anybody else on board for a 100 post requirement for privileges to post or reply in all development forums?
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
NO. I've already had reason to post in the Dev forum, and have not been able to due to not enough posts. IMO, it's pretty dumb.
I have no idea what you're talking about re: the treatment stated, however.
It'll just cause more bs in the general and less feedback to devs for their work too. Most of threads that get locked in there are not because of ppl that have low post counts. It's typically the ones with the higher counts that will do it...
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
That would lead to 10x more useless posts in the other sections (general, themes, etc.)

People... Think....
For one second get in the shoes of a moderator. In a site like xda which has far drifted from its original intents, everyone needs to understand that with the level of access people have today to technology and the lack of respect and good maners, it makes it very complicated to manage a site like this.
The job the moderators has is a tough one because they have to be the un-friendly people most of the time.
I don't personally agree with the 100 post for dev forum, but I do understand where they are coming from with this. Think for a second the amount of low level educated people and trolls that traffic this place? People that just like to follow their impulse and not the rules?
It's easy for us whom follow the rules to see it as a pain, but consider what had to happen in order for it to get to this place?
Let's give credits to the mods, their trying to maintain order in a city of chaos.

The 10 post thing is good for the noobs. So they don't put a question in the wrong section like a question about cases in the Dev section.
Nothing is wrong with it takes some time and reading but folks get the hang of it soon.
I wouldn't mind the 100 post thing, but not for ANY post, just specifically for creating new threads in that section.

Mods, when you close a thread for duplicating information/questions/topics, can you link to the thread that has the original information/answers? It becomes difficult when you are searching the forums for an answer, and you find threads asking the question you need answered, but all they have are a post from a moderator saying "Already been asked. Locked."
They would prob expect you to do a little of the work to find the topic or information YOU are looking for ..they r not secretaries

That was the point. When you try to do a search you get a lot of results with questions but no answers. This makes it difficult to do your own "work".
That's why its called "work".. If it was easy then you'd already know how to do it... Part of the experience is finding wrong threads that may not pertain to what you think they should, but you learn (how to search on your own and not have everybody cater to you) regardless.

You must be joking...
Clutter does not make anything better. Not the board and not the users' experience.
I've never had an issue..usually I can even google and find an xda thread about what I'm looking for..I guess everyone's expectations are different..regardless its not the mods job to do it for you

I can generally find my answers too. But once in a while there will be a hot issue that lots of people ask about. Their questions usually contain all the key words, so search results come back filled with clutter.
A moderators first job is to protect the board and the integrity of the data. It is also a mod's job to help make sure the board provides a good user experience. Somtimes that means cleaning up threads. This might include merging them, moving them or deleting them. If a mod knows infor exists elsewhere then he already knows where it is. To expect him to put that link into a thread he locks is _certainly not_ too much to ask.
Hint: I run a forum too, and have several moderators.
What if the mods merged the threads and shot the op a PM letting him know with the link to the thread. I've had a mod do that for me once here in another section. It was very helpful. Just a thought.

we dont typically do this b/c at times it makes a mess when merged, is a complete hassle to do, and also more importantly wouldn't teach people to take a few extra min to look around and find what they are looking for on their own and learn...
and the reason you dont see a link a lot of the times when threads are closed b/c other threads are already present......its b/c 9/10 times the thread that they should of posted in to begin with was on the first page of the very same section they post in....
Also we dont always have the time to pull up and copy the link to the thread for the user...
Closing this one, btw...if you have any questions feel free to PM ANY of us about your concerns/comments....were a open gang here

Wipe as you would normally for installing a new ROM(this is considered optional). Then select "restore" instead of " install". Chose your backup.
Please please please at least attempt to research before posting!!!!

So... I have read how to backup, wipe, check md5 of backups and downloads, install rom, download and install updates and new kernels, modems and apks and donate to 2 devs. But my mistake was to ask a question in the Q&A section. My bad. Wont happen again..

OP ...
It's also a very good idea to wipe the system when setting up for a restore.
New roms will often wipe the system for you, but a restore generally will not.
Just a tip for clean restores.
And regarding the jab about posting.....
The forum is overflowing with new threads asking the same questions repeatedly.
It takes up so much space, that navigation becomes very difficult, and it detracts users when searching for information in the open forums.
As mentioned above, a quick search would have given you the answer to your question.
It certainly does not mean that we don't want to help, it just means that your answer is likely waiting in a quick search, rather than posting a repeat thread that takes up much needed space.
No hard feelings here, and happy flashing ....g

almost makes you wish they would enact some sort of rule that forces anyone with <10 posts to prove that they know how to search on this forum...and then the sarcasm about how he already knew everything that was presented to him...just too much..
Noobs just don't understand that this is NOT an "instructional forum", it is a DEVELOPMENT forum, meant for experienced phone developers, NOT for Noobs that break their phones because they don't know WTF they are doing...
I thought i was up out of the dev part of the forums into the noob q&a. My apologies to all. And thank you gregsarg and mojoe for answers. I WILL try to find answers by searching.

Yeah your right. I dont know much but i do search but when searching from phone its hard to get the answers sometimes. Seems like if you have enough posts you can ask about anything and get away with it. With a low number not so much.. Right?

No....
There are no exemptions based on post count or self-imposed status here.
Post count means nothing, as anyone can post, regardless of the topic. (good or bad)(users just fail to read the rules)
The problems arise when the first rule of XDA is broken. and that of course, is to search before posting. Bandwidth and server space is not cheap, and this is ultimately a development site, not a nursery for people to learn how to boot into download mode etc. Those questions were answered a year ago when this device hit the shelves.
And as I mentioned above, the multi-QA threads covering the site, will bury the threads that contain the help users need to get answers.
It's the self-feeding effect, and it log jams the site something aweful. So when a search is conducted, the only results that come back are threads asking repeat questions, and no answers. (Make sense? ) And we are left with even more threads stating..."I searched, but I cant find it"...
And thats no lie under those conditions. So you see, that is why Senior members will jump on newer users to search first, rather than post a repeat thread. It often avoids the domino effect, leaving the "solved" threads visible to help people out.
I am simply a user who chooses to stay and help others avoid costly mistakes, using the knowledge I've gained here. I started on this site after reading every thread on the device I used at the time. And did not post unless it was an absolute emergency. (never really had any of those).
Soon after, I began to help others with basic questions, and gathered up a sizable number of posts through helping and giving back for the amazing work freely offered here.
Honestly, dont be afraid to post, just make sure you have exhausted the search method to the best of the site's ability to give you answers.
and after that, let us know you need a hand.
Too easy, and we will help you any way we can.....g
OK. Thanks. Great way of explaining the system and situation..Thanks Again

It's a waste of time to spend 2 years on a website, gaining knowledge about devices, and do nothing with that knowledge.
I decided after hard bricking a new phone that was entrusted to me, that I'd study, give back, and save folks the trouble if possible.
I'm not at the development level, but I can pretty much dial in the issues people are having by sight.
I miss a few here and there, (old guy )...but for the most part I get the device going again.
I tell all users, especially new users, to read every part of the mods they attempt, then read it again.
Android is all about comprehensive understanding of the processes at work.
And it takes years to master. (I'm not a master)...And the time spent by our talented developers is wasted if folks won't read and learn.
Hundreds, even thousands of hours are freely given to us by them, in the form of roms, tweaks, and fixes....all free.
We owe them the respect to read and comprehend the offerings they provide.
And a little beer money sent their way never hurts either.
Thank you for the kind words....as they make the time spent here, much more pleasurable.
And if you don't want to post a question in the open forum, just PM me...
I'll do my best to help, and if I can't answer the question, I'll find someone for you that can.
We succeed by learning and giving back to the community...
Words we all should strive to live by here ....g
