[Q] New Xperia Mini and PRO FW? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

hi, ive saw some news about a new xperia line.
The xperia mini pro and mini.
you can see a vid here:
http://dailymobile.se/2011/05/05/review-new-sony-ericsson-xperia-mini-and-mini-pro/
the main diferences in x10 mini / pro and the xperia mini / pro is the CPU (1Ghz) and they come with android 2.3.
since they are very similar in others aspects... meybe some one can try to port the rom?

The new phones are using another hardware plattform and have more in common with arc, neo and even the x10 is closer related then the classic mini series.
They do have different arm generations, different camera sensors, different display resolution etc.
Porting their firmware to the classic minis is not easier then porting any other phones firmware

Yes but maybe we can do something, let's hope they have at least something in common ...
Anyway, our mini's/mini pro's rulz

they are build for ARMv7
i should say don't port it
that would be something like putting an 24 inch tire on a 22 inch bicycle rim

Hey owain but what is with the launcher? The 4 corner would be great!

Yeah i would like to use that launcher either. It seems to be pretty good
Surely that is much work..but i'd like to help! Maybe you could tell me how to decompile and recompile an .xml file..or does this have nothing to do with the app? (don't really know, but i'm willing to learn something, that i can help you guys a bit )

Exactly!, its a real achievement from SE that they have listened to the public and done something about it
I wish we could find out if they have plans to update to 2.2 as well!
Just knowing that would be a relief
Great news, looking forward to this.
Yet I fear that Sony did not release the multitouch.

Sorry for being a skeptic but where did SE mention in that report the E10 or U10 will get multi touch? I see lots about the X10 but nowhere does it mention anything at all about the mini/pro let alone the X8 getting multi touch at any point.. however as a positive point we know the mini/pro digitizer does actually support multi touch (its the same hardware as used in the Microsoft Kin 2 which has pinch to zoom etc) so in theory it should be easy.. thats not to say SE will do it and I don't think there are enough DEV's interested in the mini range to hack it themselves.. but lets wait until the new range of phones comes out (the mini replacement looks amazing with a 1ghz processor and the X8 screen..) perhaps we will see multi touch but not until then I'm afraid..

however SE made an contract with apple so we wont get multitouch,
at least not officialy

[Q] Why Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10i?

hi guys, right now I'm using a HD2 w/Android on it ... And the battery sucks and I get no audio notification while charging, so I decided to change to either the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 or the HTC Google Nexus One... I'm on T-mobile T-Zones/Web2go
Why Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10i?
Can I get Gingerbread on the XPERIA X10i?
I'd get the nexus one actually.. There is no multitouch on the x10 and the only updates past 2.1 are custom roms...
The nexus one will stay current with updates and will have full functionality instead of a locked bootloader that hinders the phone like the x10..
X10 has multitouch/dualtouch...

Dualtouch yes, multitouch no... hence why i wrote no multitouch
And the dual touch is pretty buggy.
dual touch on mine works fine.. no problems at all... X10 looks nice, and UI is better looking than std Android..
In the end it comes down to looks vs raw power
any more info

Do a dual touch test and try crossing axis... It's the same for everyone.

N1 if you want to flash your device regularly
X10 for a beautiful device with stable software
Yes I'm aware of the cross axis ' issue' never caused me a problem though

So Nexus One, is the move!
The x10 doesn't cost that much and the xda devs are making it upgradeable
the nexus one will have the latest android software available. whereas the x10 will be stuck on the older version of android
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 or the HTC Google Nexus One... I'm on T-mobile T-Zones/Web2go

buddy who dont wanna move to arc..? lol..
Actually the neo will be better despite a smaller screen. It'll have a front camera and a music player with an equalizer for bass boosting (which I cant live without). Otherwise, it's the
Same phone. Though me personally ill be getting an optimus 3d because when my upgrade will be available, xda will be well equipped for it.
From my X10a running CM 6.1.3 by Wolfbreak and Swype Keyboard
this might imply that we will have an easier root method for our x10s when the 2.3.3 update comes =D

I think that is a bit harsh. OK it may not be a big step forward from the X10 but it is better and is 'only' a mid range phone.

kudos to that too. Sony Ericsson has tried hard to make a good phone. but this year dual core android phones will dominate. With that said, I will still get the Xperia Arc if i can find a good deal.(under $500) Can't complain about the SE interface. =) With that said i'm very excited for the X10 gingerbread release and unlocking the bootloader. Hopefully we can utilize the full potential of the phone.
Well I just love the looks and design of it
Personally I just want to own it!!
And specs of the arc a lil better so I think once there are more devs for the arc then the development will be more progressive than the X10
It will be in my hands in the coming month or two

I have no actual idea, but I think you have just to change the LCD Destiny to 120 (in built.prop) and then resize everything with apktool or apkmanager, in order to make everything look good.

i don't think so,,that this can be done,,,, because of incompatibility of gsm networks,, go to youtube and search this [[" x10 Mini Pro Custom Rom xWildfirePro 2.1 "]]. and also read comments

amendment. amendment. not LG GT500. try port from Galaxy Spica (I5700) or ^^^^
http://goo.gl/ZhyQq - all support devices. (600 MHz)
http://goo.gl/zCBZg - all support devices. (800 MHz)
but in general you can use HDPI firmware. The quality of graphics will be worse.
Whose gona port them then...paulxxx haha no I was using your mini pro rom I thin it was cm7 pro7x, I know you stopped work onit loved it tho..the 1 app I dont like on nearly all roms is the camera ,that has a grey frame making lcd tiny, and anyone kno are the u20i's capable of zoom feature,nt seen 1 yet!
