Such a silly thing I'm experiencing with the music app on the Atrix 4g. When ever I am trying to listen to music through the audio jack, I cant seem to make it through one song with out the music stopping and starting at the beginning. I dont want to have to replace this phone but musix is such a huge part of my phone experience... What a bummer for such a fast phone.
Any similar situations or fixes??
have you got it set on repeat one song?
also try a different music app such as doubletwist
Are you rooted or running any mods / roms?

No repeat set. Downloaded and using winamp but the same issue is occurring. I'm listening to a song. It sounds like it is trying to skip then half way through, it stops, goes to the begining and sits at 0:00 as if it is paused. This is only happening when I am using the audio jack!

That sounds like some kind of glitch with the headset controls and maybe your headset. Maybe try a different pair? You can try downloading Doubletwist and telling it to take control of the headset controls in the settings and see if that does anything?

Had my 3d 2 days now and when I listen to music on the stock music player it skips songs and fast forwards on its own. It does this when screen is active or on standby and its driving me crazy. If I pick the phone up its like moving the phone makes it go haywire. But it also does it if left untouched. Is anyone else having this problem?

I had one random reboot. And skip songs.
enjoying my EVO 3D. But root would be nice.
Mine has been doing this too. But only with something in the 3.5 jack. Driving me nuts! OP, did you come to any conclusion? Like having to get a replacement or anything?

I would like to know more about this too
If you don't have an Evo3d well you don't have an Evo3d
if its skipping songs then the interference from the headphone jack is making the phone think you have something like iphone headphones that can control music, download headset blocker from the market and it will stop
it wont stop the music from stopping when the headphone jack gets unplugged though
This problem only seems to happen if your phone shows a headset icon on the top. If it shows a headphone icon, you should be ok.
If it shows the headset icon, just unplug it and replug it in again.
download the block headset app from the marketplace. you're welcome!

Mine loses it's mind every time I plug something into that jack. And yes, Headset Blocker works. Make sure the widget is in color, indicating the blocker is turned on. Then it'll block the incoming control signals that are causing the problem.
Mike
I have DoubleTwist installed and I turned off the Headset controls in the settings and I seem to be good for now.
Edit: Well, slightly better.
Anyone able to create a profile to solve the issue we have with our note. The issue is the following,
If headphones are plugged in and we get an incoming call, the ringtone will play on both speaker and headphones.
If headphones are plugged in and we get a notification, the sound will only play through speaker.
I tried to do a basic script that has headphones plugged in and incoming call for context, then set ringer volume to 0 and play music ringtone.mp3. Add exit task to for the opposite, raise ringer volume, stop music.
The problem is, it worked, if I didn't have music playing already when I get an incoming call, which is the whole reason why I would have headphones plugged in to begin with. The task successfully sets the ringer volume to 0 so at least it didn't play on the speaker, but then nothing would play on the headphones, and the music I was playing would pause (like it's supposed to), but the ringtone I specified didn't play. Ending the call resumes the music I was playing.
Anyone willing to shed some insight on this?
This issue is next on my list. I believe it is an issue with how the phone distinguishes what the sound is. ..phone vs media...hard to explain

Hey all,
I searched around for a while but couldn't find anyone posting about this issue...So I manually upgraded to the .211 release using Matt's Utility 1.7 back when it was released, and I have had next to no problems on stock ICS except for this. One annoying issue that keeps occurring though, is my music starts playing automatically after I hang up from a call using bluetooth. This happens only when I receive a call and my headset is connected to the phone (both handset and A2DP profiles). It streams over the headset thru A2DP and I have to manually pause the music on my phone (or disconnect/reconnect the headset) to stop it. I use a Bose Series 2 headset and didn't have this problem on stock GB beforehand. Music is not playing before I receive the call.
I've found a temporary solution in disabling the A2DP portion of the connection manually in the bluetooth settings under the headset subsection.... but this is annoying because I have to keep turning it back on when I want to stream music or podcasts through the ear piece.
Any ideas as to why this is now happening?

Scion some app is telling it to resume after calling. Do you have any other music apps installed on your phone?

Just the built in "my music" app bloatware from Moto...also Pandora. I did disable a bunch of bloatware when I first started setting up the phone. I'll see if disabling/re-enabling the my music app has any effect... I've never had a problem with Pandora before but I could also try uninstalling that to see if it makes a difference.
Flashing the .215 leak fixed the problem... hallelujah
Hey guys. I'm currently using Spotify to play music while I am at work and whenever any of the songs lowers in volume, the sound on my phone cuts off until the song picks back up. Does anyone know a way to fix this issue? It's making listening to some of my favorite genres a not very fun experience.
Thanks, Shawn
Nobody? :\

I'm not sure i understand your question. When the song lowers in volume? Why is it lowering? What other apps have you tried playing music in. Does it do it for only streaming music or is it music saved on your sd partition? Try some of these things out and see what you find and please report back. It may be an isolated spotify problem.
By amplitude, I mean quiet moments in a song. To be specific, whenever a silent moment or very quiet moment of a classical piece, the sound will stop and only start again when the piece picks back up. It sounds like there's a barrier that mutes all sounds under a certain level. I'll try it with the built in music player and report back with those findings.
Yeah I also have this problem when running Pandora and Google Play Music. It's very irritating.

I usally stream the "Maxwell" station on Pandora which is soft R&B/Jazz station. Don't think i've ever noticed the music fade all the way out in quiet parts of the song. Check your installed mods and see if one of them have may be the culprit. if none installed i'm at a loss. sorry.
Maybe this helps....

Anyone else experiencing a sudden increase and sudden decrease in volume while playing music through google play? It's happened when it's hooked up to my IBolt dock as well as through bluetooth speakers. I have no clue what may be causing it, whether it's drivers on the phone itself or something screwy with Google Play music service.
I'm having the same exact issue. I'm not sure if it's Google play music or the phone causing the problem

I have the same issue too. Google Music, offline/cached songs, and I use a Klipsch S4i. I have one more day before the 14 day return policy is up. So I am guessing this is a wide known issue. I saw a review for Google Music about a S4 volume bug.
I have to assume it's a google music issue then that will be fixed. If it was a phone issue it'd happen on all music being played which I don't think it has for me off hand.

Has anyone tried turning off Adapt Sound for Music and see if that fixes the problem?
I never set up Adapt Sound therefore it's not turned on. I confirmed in the music app that Adapt Music was off, unless there is a simliar setting in Google Music I'm not aware of?

Yeah, I tried Google Music with Adapt Sound on and off, the problem is still there.
Equalizer? As I was typing this, I went into the equalizer and the volume instantly went back down to the "original" level. Ill tinker with it. I currently have it set to: Rock, Bass boost ~60%, and 3D effect Off. Ill set the equalizer to off and se what happens.
I use Apollo 1.1 and never had that issue with my music or any other sound.
Do you stream with Google Music? If yes, do you stream while connected to bluetooth and/or a dock?
So I think the equalizer is to blame. I had it off all day and there was no strange volume fluctuation.
interesting. I'll have to give that a shot as I do have mine on.

Thanks for the heads up. This has been driving me up a wall since launch.
There is a new Google Music update. Im testing it out with equalizer enabled. Ill report my results.
Results: Bug still there.
