Anyway to add the 3d app drawer to a Rom? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyway to add the 3d app draw to any Rom? Or does it have to be built into the Rom itself?
EDIT FOUND A WAY TO ADD THE 3D APP DRAW WITHOUT INSTALLING A SECOND LAUNCHER!

I don't know if you mean put a 3d app drawer in rosie, but ADW and LauncherPro both have the 3d app drawer. You can find it in their settings. Just download whichever one you want from the market. I personally use LauncherPro.
LP - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.fede.launcher
ADW - https://market.android.com/details?id=org.adwfreak.launcher

Yea i know you can have it with launcher pro, but its so annoying that you have 2 launch screens. When i click on my app button i want it to be the 3d gallery, not have to select the launcher. So yes i would want it in rosie.

Are you asking about the 3d app drawer or the 3d gallery?

3d app draw, that lp has. So when scrolling through the apps it looks like a 3d cube.

Oh ok, what do you mean by 2 launch screens? Yes you will have 2 launchers, but only 1 of them will be used. It's not like you have to use Sense, then launch LP. LP will just "replace" Sense.

I had lp one time thinking it would just add the 3d draw, but then every time i hit home button it would ask which home, sense or lp, and that got really annoying fast. Plus i like my home screen from virus rom, just want the 3d draw. Unless theres a way to do what im asking. Or maybe i would give lp or adw a try if i didnt have to pick the launcher every time i hit home.

Hit the home button, when the 2 choices pop up, check the box below that says "use as default" and then select LP.

Just check the box under the home selection to use this as default, then you won't get asked every time. Thought it was pretty self explanatory.

yea just saw that, however it wont let me apply my virus theme to it. I have a developer i know looking into it for me to see if he can turn the 3d app draw into a apk.

[Q] App for quick shortcuts to other windows?

Hi guys was wondering if there is this app out there that can do the following...
You know when you swipe left or right you go to different windows from the home screen. Is there an app or something that wil allow you to swipe up or down from the homescreen to go to the window to the left x2 or to the right x2. I'm basically trying to find a way to get to my other windows in just 1 swipe as opposed to 2. It might not be much but I would much prefer it that faster if possible.
Anyone know of anything that can do this for me?
I use the "pinch and pick" method. (At least that's what I call it.)
Or hit the Home button twice (or just once if you're already on the Home screen).
That's an interesting idea but I would assume it would have to be built into the launcher you're using. Like home screen replacement Apps have swipe up for this and down for that but I haven't seen them have an option for swipe up for page x.

Try an app called Wave Launcher. It's not exactly what you described as what you're looking for but may be another solution, it's a fantastic app! Here's a link for you:

Go launcher, set it to show previews on swipe up (you can even make it so it only does that when you swipe up on a specific dock icon, too!)

Will that all eat up my battery a lot if I'm running stock everything non-rooted?
I'm really enjoying being non-rooted because surprisingly everything just WORKs. Battery life is great as I can get an entire 12-13 hour day out of it before it goes red.
Also...why Go Launcher? When I use to have it on my old Evo 4g whenever I would press the "home button" it would close Go Launcher and go back to the stock launcher...also...I have to use their own Friend widget (people widget) if you use it right? Or has that changed? When I used Go Launcher before the People widget I use to use from Sense disappears.
I'm completely stock.... Just download Wave Launcher and try it, if you like it then excellent, if you don't then uninstall... It's a free app so you lose nothing trying it. Good luck!

Stock unrooted, too. GO Launcher (like any alternate home app) doesn't allow the use of Sense Widgets but they have an alternative to most of them and the widgets are themeable. Battery usage is no more than usual and if you REALLY wanna squeeze all the juice you can from a charge, check out Juice Defender. And why GO Launcher? It takes the best parts of all the paid launchers (ADW, Launcher Pro, etc), improves on them, adds in even more functionality, offers tons of themes or the ability to create your own, and it's free! I use GO SMS, GO Contacts and GO Dialer, too. The GO Weather is borked though lol dunno why

I've been using pure breeze launcher and have been loving it.
The biggest part I like is the kite. Almost any program I'm in I can bring it up and have my most used widgets and shortcuts available. And all I have to do is hit the back button and I'm back where I was.
I especially use it with the xda app. Sometimes during writing a post and I'm not sure about specific directions, I bring up the kite, open the internet, double check info or even download a pic of what I'm talking about, then hit the back arrow and my half written post is still there. I can continue on like I never left.

Sounds like Wave launcher. I mean "kite" functionality. The best part about Wave is that you can use it with any other launcher as a "add-on". Last week was free as Gold app on GetJar. I checked and it's still free. Give it a try.

Wave launcher is awesome! I really think google needs to buy them and put wave launcher in as stock android.
But with the kite it allows you to bring up the app list where you have all your apps. And all you have to do is hit the back button.
It let's you use your launcher app, as an app, when you switch between apps.
Imagine pressing your home button now and being able to check out you home screen, open your app drawer and run a program. And you can press back to get to the previous app you were in before you pressed the home button. Pressing the home button doesn't mean closing out (in a sense) what you were doing.

Maybe you didn't know but with Wave you have ability to bring all your apps to any screen. In Wave settings change Long-press functionality to App Drawer. I set time duration to 1 sec.
But I don't use App Drawer much because I use Gesture Search app with Wave so in 2 sec I could launch any app, game, contact etc. from anywhere.

Can people compare and contrast some of these against touch wiz? Do all widgets work with each?
Can you also comment on how smooth they are and known issues? I'm new to touchwiz coming from sense which I actually liked a lot.
Also if I set one as default how can I undo it later?
ADW Launcher all the way, I've messed with a lot of them and it seemes to be the most bulletproof for me anyways.

As an android noob a few years ago, Launcher Pro was great. Then I moved on to Go Launcher and really liked it. After reading this thread and trying some of these others, I've really taken to Regina Launcher. It has many of the functions that I like (3d animations). But to be honest, we are really lucky to have all of the choices that we have at our disposal. The best part about it is that your homescreens and settings are saved with each launcher. So if you find one you like and set it up to your preferences, you can still swap between launchers and your settings are saved with each. So when I revert from Regina back to Go, it is still the same way that I left it.
I'm a big fan of the Sony Xperia Arc launcher with corners.

You get one from the market, either paid or free. Some examples... go launcher, adw launcher. Once installed, press the home button and you get two options.. Tw launcher or the one you just installed, make the one you installed default.
Then that's it. Though you might want to disable the tw launcher from an app like titanium backup.

Oh I see now. Once you pick a launcher to launch by default I don't know how to get that little pop up back... but.. I know that when a launcher updates you get that little pop up back. It happened to my dad, he was stuck like that for a day when it updated automatically on him, I had to set his launcher to a default again.
dunno if you're up for re-installing one?? or putting another one to get that little pop up back?

Go into Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, select the launcher you are currently using then select the Clear Defaults button. You shoud get prompted to select a launcher when you press the home button.
Download the App homeswitcher if you want to have and use multiple Launchers. You can easily switch between ADW, LPP, ADW Ex, and other stuff on the fly.
try downloading home switcher for froyo, ive been using it forever and it still works

[Q] [HELP] Problem with GO Launcher EX

I recently installed Go Launcher on my HTC Evo 3d, and I notcied that when I play games, the touch controls are behaving strangely. For example, if pushing right arrow to move my character in an NES emulator, if I press the a or b button on the other side of the screen, my character will stop moving right. It's a very strange issue and it affects all games I have tried. Haven't been able to find any help online. Thoughts or suggestions?
Not go launchers fault.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
Could you expand on that at all? I don't have the problem when I'm not using Go Launcher.
Uninstall GoLauncher EX would be your best bet. I don't see why you should go out of your way to install faulty launchers on your phone.
Yeah, I have. I just want to use it because it seems to have a lot of really cool themes for it. I used ADW launcher but Go launcher is far better.

Anyone running other than stock launcher

I'm running Nova and if you goto system settings under hide nav buttons in certain programs and chose your launcher it makes your home screen so much better/bigger.
Still using stock launcher.
I like it. The only thing I wish I could use would be the Google Now page, and reduce the number of homescreens I have.
Just make a "zoom out" motion with your fingers on the home screen.

In nova when your in the settings menu it says advanced. You scroll down and press volume up or down a couple times and it brings up more beta settings.
