Yes. I don't have them on my G harmony rom. I did wipe data etc, it was a clean install.

Then they weren't built into the rom

There is probably a setting in the launcher to either enable/disable "full screen" or "hide/show status bar" or something like that. It's specific to the launcher you're using. Suggest you ask in the G Harmony thread, and/or look closely at all available settings to see if you can find it yourself.

Nope. They aren't on every ROM. GoJimi created the ones that are ONLY on the VEGAn-Tab ROMs (and subsequently his code was used on the CM7 tablet tweaks) - but they are not included on "every ROM".
Button Savior is the only way to get something like them on any other non-VEGAn-Tab rom or CM7 build with the tablet tweaks.

Well, actually the TnT based roms have them too
But your point is well taken.

Really? which ones? If I remember right it would have to be the latest ones... but it's been a LONG time since I used a manufacturer-based stock ROM or MOD so my memory is a little fuzzy.

All tnt based mods have soft buttons in the status bar. They are spread out a little differnt than gojimi's, but they are there.
Tnt stock, tnt lite, calk's, etc. go check the screen shots.
Vegan's are still better

Cool - good to know.

Try G-harmony with Gingerbread elements.

Do you mean this???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007455
If so, that is what I am using. Are they there automatically or did you have to turn them on?? Maybe I had a bad install, if this is the same rom your using...

CM7 Harmony 7.0.3 has the soft buttons on the notification area. You can select up to 5 buttons. You can also choose to have the button to the left or the right side of the screen. All the options are in Home>Menu>Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Tablet tweaks

How is the speed and stability on this compared to Eugene's RC1 froyo?Any improvements?
Also is this using ADW Launcher or did someone finally make a build with the stock nexus launcher? I personally can't stand using any additional Launchers, they've never run smooth in my experience with them.
love the rom super smooth but it can't read my sdcard .. now im thinking its cuz my sdcard isn't formatted to fat32 .. am i right ?

Yes it's adw. It runs pretty smooth though.
Loving this rom as well... consistently getting 8's on linpack.
As far as SDCard it was driving me nuts.. If you back up all your data from the card than select on card and format I was able to get it to be seen. Recopied data to card and it was working like a charm.
(Yes i had it partitioned with ext. Formating in windows, common problem people have, did not work and our recovery does not have easy user interface to clear out partitions like the G1.)
What's the difference between this and eugenes? Just wondering if its worth using this instead of eugenes because I hate having to wipe and set my phone up all over again.

So far running great. Would love to know how to change the colors of the clock in the top bar. Black on black sucks for reading the time.

anyone else noticing the From line ">" disappearing when in Gmail listing email messages?
When I scroll through my list, they disappear and then come back after I stop my scroll.
I really like this ROM and it is the fastest ROM I have installed yet. Very noticeably faster!
I would also like to be able to wake the device with the track button, small feature but by no means a show stopper! I might look into this further and see if I can add this myself.
Kudos to Eugene and Clay as always!

MIUI 1.12.9 Fascinate/Mesmerize Rom UPDATE..12/13/11

This is a build ported from a vibrant setup, some tweaks that dfgas incorporated into the last few builds, some extra tweaks from here and there, and extended settings built in. It is very smooth and fast after letting it settle in for a bit.
Let me know how it is for you. You can wipe data or just cache and dalvik...I do all 3...enjoy.
Thanks to anyone that has a hand in developing for the fascinate / mesmerize...the list would be too long to write!
-as of 1.12.9...
-#911 issue fixed (thanks sbrissen, dfgas, & anyone else involved)
-modified default transparent lockscreen...live wallpapers show through lockscreen
-new 1.12.9 Fascinate link...
http://db.tt/enasc1vs
-new 1.12.9 Mesmerize link...
http://db.tt/LHY0AeKk
-as of 1.11.25...
-includes Glitch V13 kernel with working 3 button recovery (with updated screenstate scaling fix)
-new option of miui app drawer
-pick setup, then enable, wait a couple seconds for drawer to load up, then swipe down from top of screen slightly lower than status bar to pull down drawer (almost right at bottom edge of status bar)...takes a little getting used to swipe area as it is very small.
-new options of hiding signal bars and headset icons
-new option of appdrawer background color
-new "on the fly" statusbar layout switching (no need to refresh statusbar anymore)
-new options of autostarting appdrawer
-charging animation it top bar fixed
Here is a link to the v6 supercharger thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
I would suggest installing the latest supercharger script...http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=792186&d=1322022964 and the app script manager...http://market.android.com/details?id=os.tools.scriptmanager
Download both, change the supercharger scripts name from .pdf to .txt, install script manager, go into script managers options and turn on browse as root, then navigate to the directory you downloaded the supercharger script to within the app, click on it, select run as root, then run. Follow the scripts prompts, and as a suggestion, I use option 7. This makes the phone fly even faster at all times even with many apps open. I would have incorporated this into the rom, but the developer would rather you visit the thread to get it.
Downloading now. Thanks!
First impressions:
(Background: Wiped all three from "mounts and storage" menu)
Appears to be based off of MIUI Android (UK port of MIUI) as opposed to MIUI.US. Not sure what diffferences (if any) apply other than the bootani and background. Amiright?
Extended settings built-in is quite awesome.
Noticed MiuiCompass wasn't in there (but DSP Manager was...awesome again). Attached in case you don't have the apk and want to add it in the future.
MMS sent over 3G on first try.
I am not sure which market you bundled with it, but I always go in and remove marketUpdater and add back in the old vending.apk. (This isn't a criticism, just something I do that might be good to know in case I have future issues that may be caused by that mod...I know I am probably rare in liking the old market.)
So far so good. Now I just need to grow a pair and figure out how to swap kernels in the zipfile so I can throw Glitch v13RC1 in there; at which point I'll truly have my "Flash one-and-done".
Great work, Rick S. Can't wait for the full list of changes/tweaks! Thanks again.

Compass.apk should be in there, but thanks anyway. Basically if porting from a "stock" setup, roms wont differ very much at all, but another difference is that the reboot options are capitalized. I would love to have glitch v13 in there, but its not publically released yet. I do install it on mine though. All you need is the boot.img and the lib/modules folder...modules need to match boot.img that was built.

I wasn't suggesting you put V13 in there. I was just commenting on my own lack of courage to do it myself more than anything. Thanks for the tip though.
Been installing apps and such basically nonstop since install and listening to music on it. No issues. I did update to Glitch v12RC1 right off the bat as well.
So far, this seems to be about as stable as the 9-16 release which has been my fall-back. I've had the fewest issues with that one. Hopefully this one will be my new 9-16. (Will find out when I get home and see how it handles the wifi/3g handoff that seems to have been causing the most problems on the latest few roms for me)

Looks great Rick...thanks again. I had issues with the other '11' roms so far and was back on the 10.28. And also big.thanks for the easy instructions for installing super charger....I couldn't get then to stick a month ago....no problems this time ( used your suggestion....will tweak later after I settle in) only issue is google+ fc at start up. I don't use it so not a huge deal.....will uninstall and install new......phone is flying.
Edit: Re-install of Google+ did the trick. Can't believe how fast and smooth this phone is running now.
Thanks for the responses. Im going to update some MIUI mods and put links in the op soon...launcher mod and screen transitions are some.

Sorry about that...my gmail seems to work fine though. I used JT's 3 button recovery fix kernel because its probably the most used throughout various roms. It doesnt have bln. You can flash any kernel you like though and it will work fine as long as the kernels allows for it.

GSM and CDMA roms/kernels aren't cross compatible. The phones share a name, that's it, they're pretty different when you get down to the nuts and bolts (or silicon and copper.)

"Hmmm. I just had huge success flashing jt's 3ButtonFix.zip kernel over the 1.11.4, making big improvements in battery and GPS. But this is an upgrade, using the same kernel, even though my current ROM is working fine. Hmmm..." thinks the flash junkie as he tries to pretend he might not go ahead and flash this anyway.
Edit: Of course I flashed it, with the script. Running great. Overnight, battery stays in high 90s.
All I can say is wow!! This is by far the most responsive miui build I've ever used, running the script on setting seven as suggested running glitch v13 ml OC`d to 1440..very smooth, plus have all the reboot options again nicely done, thanks much sir!

In the past the miui builds I've run while being in my opinion nicer to use have always seemed more sluggish than Vanilla or cm7, not now..

I actually ported the MIUIScotland 1.11.9 ICS framework I9000 rom to the fascinate. It seems the only difference are a couple added files within the framework and a few files elsewhere, along with the version number in the build prop. Its not even worth playing with though. There are no noticeable differences anywhere. Waist of time just in case anyone was wondering or has heard of it.

Why no buttons on pulldown screen?

I used to have a Galaxy S on t-mobile and loved it. Recently picked up the razr and the one thing that is really annoying is that the notification bar "swipe down menu" from the top of the screen has no buttons to turn gps on/off, etc.
Is there any way to get these buttons on here?
No idea why in the hell they would omit that feature....

Galaxy S has the options in the pulldown by default; most ROMs will incorporate it, though, since it's a nice feature. It's not something in stock Android, though.
Best thing for now is the power control widget till our phones can get bootloader unlocked and development for roms can begin. I too had that previous. I just use thd widget for now
Available in the Market as always for example via Widgetsoid.

Widgetsoid seems like a great app with a lot of potential and nice customization features, but on the Razr you can't toggle directly from the notification bar with it. Instead clicking on the toggle icon will popup another window to toggle the setting on or off. That and I haven't been able to change the colors of the toggles in the dropdown so that it's readable.
Notification toggle is the closest I've found. Each toggle takes up a line but you can actually turn the item on or off straight from the dropdown.

[Q] volume control to move cursor?

Hello,
I've recently installed the CM9 ROM (p4wifi v20) and so far its looking great! I understand that you can you use the volume keys to move the cursor when typing, in fact I think that I had this working once, but now I cannot find out how you set this up and get it working - any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Ackoman
The rom is aokp. Not cm9.
It is in rom control, under settings
oops. I meant the keyboard settings.

Ooops, yes you're right - I should have said aokp.
I still cannot find the settings you refer to I'm afraid - I've looked under rom control, and also in the keyboard settings (under language and input) but cannot see anything which refers to using the volume control to move the cursor. I'm probably just being dim. Would you mind sending a screenshot please?
Thanks,

go to inputs... look at all the keyboards... click on the settings icon to the right of the android keyboard.
the cursor setting will be in the middle. If you are not using the stock keyboard this may be why it is not working. Probably only works for it.

Bizarre - I wonder whether something that I have restored to my tab after flashing is interfering with it. I'm going to try reflashing with the p4wifi v20 rom again and see what happens.

Hey, well its good to know that I am not alone! The weird thing is, for a short while I definitely had this working, immediately after flashing with the p4wifi rom, I've clearly done something since that has knackered it.
I did flip back to the CM9 ICS kang rom using rom manager a couple of times, but don't see why that should screw up anything in the aokp installation.
OK, perhaps I'm getting somewhere now - just put a fresh installation of aokp on my tab, and lo and behold I've now got the option to have the volume control move the cursor when typing!
I reckon something I restored or installed on my tab was screwing it up - will systematically retrace my steps and see when it stops working again, and will beam back the results here.
Thanks,
Ackoman

Right, it didn't take me long to get it to stop working - I installed gapps.zip, and straight away that screwed it! So, next question is, should I not install gapps? Or perhaps I'm using the wrong version? I'm using the version that I downloaded when I put the CM9 ICS rom on.
If I shouldn't use gapps, how do I get market on my tab?

OK, I'm a tw*t - just re read the installation instructions for aokp, and it specifically says do not use any other copy of gapps. So, I guess that solves that.

Kudos Ackoman great detective work :-D
I love this feature, but I do not use the default keyboard. Would be nice if there was an app that enabled this feature for all keyboards.

Has anyone tried this rom out?

Heyyy,
I'm thinking about flashing this with safestrap on NC5 but I have never really heard much about it. May people running this rom on safestrap tell me if it is totally stable with safestrap? Because it seems like it was not built for safestrap.
Here is the download link http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358541454. I think it is different from this post because googlie may have altered this one

I'm running it and it is mostly stable. It has a few things that don't work
1) The signal bar doesn't display signal strength. The bars are shaded gray but you're getting reception when it says you're not. It does say 4G, 3G, 1X, etc.
2) Dialer crashes from the very beginning. It sometimes works, but most of the time, you'll get the "Unfortunately, dialer has stopped working," error message. I installed Swipedialer Pro to use as my primary dialer. It has an authentic AOSP feel and look.
3) Tethering isn't working for some reason.
4) When you first long-press the power button to bring up the power menu, you'll notice that the phone just reboots! To fix, go to the ROM Customizer app, then go to ROM Settings> System/ Kernel Mods> Powermenu Toggles and enable all the toggles. (GravityBox can also interfere with the power menu for some reason, so I disabled it just to avoid any issues).
5) The Gmail app that comes with the ROM FC's every time. You have to delete Gmail from the /system/app folder with something like Root Explorer, and reboot. Then install Gmail from the Playstore.
6) Sounds settings FC every time. However, you can still change ringtones through call settings. Not really a big issue for me.
I know that sounds like a lot, but other than this, it's actually one of the BEST Roms for the S4. It's actually my daily driver and it's the only rom I've used that is closest to the AOSP feel and look for our phone (I HATE Touchwiz!!!) Lol.

Yes, GDux 2.0 is what I'm running though there is a 2.1 now. I did the slim I believe. It's there highlighted in blue text. Kind of hidden within his words instead of by itself. I'm running it right now. If you want it themed a little differently I have a zip that has everything I like in it. Toggle icons, wifi, data, and various misc. ones. The 2.0 version has round lighted toggles and the icons I like fit right in the middle of those. Looks pretty neat and it enables all toggles as well. I think you need to add a browser and maybe email. I like to put them in the rom before installing because it makes life easier.

Is there a link somewhere for the 2.1 version and is it confirmed working on Verizon?
How is the battery life? I've been most disappointed in all the 4.4.2 KitKat Roms I've tried along with Surges Base rom with the Android System & Android OS taking away a day of battery and an hour of screen time as opposed to 4.3 & Roms.

I don't think any of them can equal or beat a 4.3 but GDux is worth trying and yes I've installed it as well but I just prefer 2.0. You should be able to get it from here. They all have little quirks.
