Boot Screens for Gingerbread 2.3.3 - EVO Shift 4G Themes and Apps

I was using just a stock rooted rom before I decided to go with Evervol's latest rom which is 2.3.3. I was using the BIOS-BEE boot screen but now I can't. There are several splash screens and other things that I can not use now. Do I have to recreate each item or is there a simple way around it. I have searched the site, well just this side of EVO Shift not the whole EVO Shift site and have had no luck. Just let me know or point me in the right direction if you can.
THanks!

[Q] The Gingerbread leak has everyone stuck

hello, with last night gingerbread leak many of us unrooted users or myself a rooted user who was to lazy to download the rooted verison because the download link was broken. are now stuck with know way of going back. now not everyone cares about beeing stuck but my self and others miss out of the option to root i personaly miss my bamf asop rom that i was falling in love with. from what i gather we are in a holding pattern at the moment i was wondering if any of the great devs over here had attempted or mad any progess in rooting this last leak or if we have found a method to role back to mr2 so we could root that. any insight would be appricated
Didn't alpharev and unrevoked just release a new method that works with the tbolt? I know they released its a beta, but it works on the inc2 with gb
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA App
i dont think that will work for the tbolt
Before saying it won't work on TBolt try it out. Also I believe it does work. I'm not sure if it will work with this new leak but it works on the TBolt from what I've seen.
i do apolgize the post went out before it was finished and because im new to this fourm i have to wait 5mins before making any changes. i would love to try it its worth a shot can someone post me a link and ill report back if it works
this is exactly why i do not install leaked radios or leaked shipped ruu's.
I know it works on the Inc 2 and I'm almost positive that it included the tbolt in the list of devices when your downloading the beta code. It allows you to root the shipped gb on the Inc 2, may work on this version of gb as well.
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA App
just trade your TBolt for an LG Revolution. everyone says that one's the best.
Just go over to the Inc 2 forum here on xda and in general section there should be a thread about rooting gb.

The Revolution and AlphaRevX sites appear to be down for the time being, so even if it does work, it won't without being able to obtain a key for the beta release through the website.
Assuming you still have S-off and a recovery, i.e. you didn't flash the RUU, all hope isn't lost. However if you did, I'm glad I'm not you at the moment.

Isn't it under the battery or on the back cover? Or somewhere in settings, about?
Were you able to get a beta key?

rooting on gingerbread is pretty much the same process as before, just subbing out psneuter for fr3vo.
I GOT ROOT WOHO thanks to all xda is a amazing place
This is why I would encourage everyone who is rooted to install that hard patched hboot in the dev forum and this problem wouldn't exist. Also not flashing RUUs carelessly Helps but I digress. The only problem with the patched hboot is getting back to s-on is a bit harder. You have to use fastboot with a special command to flash an s-on hboot. Personally I think everyone who is rooted should learn how to use fastboot and ADB anyway but once again digressing. (prob not a real word LOL)
As far as fixing the issue hopefully the Revolutionary tool will still work on that build just have to check the hboot version. If not, as stated previously replacing psnueter with frEVO in the original downgrade process should work.
Edit: sorry a little late I suppose.

Questions bout switching to aosp

HTC thunderbolt
I thought I would stick with sense roms for a while, but I've had it a month, and I'm already using launchers to change the look and feel.
Anyways, I wanna try an aosp rom like cm7 or thunderbread.
Right now I'm running gingeritis 3d (sense), and I used the kernel that was recommended.
My question is, and I know this is a lot about preference but, what is the best aosp rom out there right now that's stable and fast? And what kernel should I use? battery life isn't a huge deal for me since I'm near a plug most of the day, but I'd like at least 6-7 hrs from it.
if anyone has any info and suggestions, I'd appreciate it

There is no best. there is all personal preference. The asop/asop type roms I can think of off the top of my head is OMFGB, MIUI, and CM7. All being at a stable point in development. So look at them and figure out which one you would like best
I'll just make this simple.
I'm looking for a
Kernel that works with cm 7.
It needs to be fast stable, and everything working.
What have you used?
Which ones did you have a good experience with?
I'm wanting to flash today and could use a prod in the right direction for my first aosp experience.
Thanks
(and if you have links, that'd be awesome)

I'm on taptalk right now so searching is a real pain. Look up imoseyn kernels. He has sense and asop roms. Go to the development section. Plenty of info there for you. Whatever you do do not rush into flashing something just because you want to. Read, research, read some more, then make sure you understand what your doing before you do, so if you have an issue you can possibly save yourself lots of headache.

I've done a ton of reading, researching and everything. I'm not a tech noob at all. I actually own a pc repair business. and I've successfully flashed phones before.
Like I said, I did the first flash a day or so after getting it (to Gingeritis 3D) and everything went fine. (after getting the correct radio that is)
Anyways, I choose CM7 and downloaded Zoom kernel, which is Here
The CM7 file i downloaded is: update-cm-7.1.1-Thunderbolt-signed.zip
Which I thought was the correct one.
I also downloaded a MR2.5 radio. Although I'm not 100% its the BEST one, but I know it works with CM7. and I did get a signal with it.
but even after wiping everything, and doing it over and over, I can't get past the white htc splash screen.
Do you have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Solution Found!!
I had been doing everything right, but it seems Clockwork Mod Recovery was corrupt or something.
What I did:
I restored back to my last backup.
Opened Rom Manager
Click "Flash Clockwork Mod Recovery" (the top one, even if it says your up to date)
after it flashes CWM successfully, either download and flash a rom from Rom Manager, or do it manually as I did.
And after the flash, I rebooted, and it went right to the CM7 boot animation, and loaded perfectly.
If you were like me and searched google, and found lots of posts with the same issue, but no solutions. So I hope this helps others.
Thanks for all the help guys!
(goes to show sometimes you just gotta try anything and everything)

I hope you didn't take what I wrote as negative to your skills. I didn't mean to make it sound like you didn't know what you were doing lol just threw ideas out there hoped one might spark a thought.
Glad you got it up and ruining. Already nice when someone posts how they fixed something, in case any of us end up with the same issue gives us more troubleshooting ideas.

i've used many sense & aosp roms myself and will say that aside from sticking with an actual cyanogen rom directly, the latest "SHIFTAO5P" that's been re-worked by dhacker, 2.8 is really nice & stable(and the location/gps actually works).
I agree with you on the sense though, I could never stand the actual sense launcher and always just used Launcher Pro.
Also if you use aosp you will run into issues with the flash player. I know when I was on CM7 it happened. I tried out MUIU and I had problems with flash and I had to do that flash player trick (look it up) to get it to work. I never tried OMFGB but I have tried CM7 and MIUI and they're both sweet. My favorite one is Liquid Smooth. but its up to you. They're all great

Just got the note with stock gb. ics question.

Hey, all!
Just got a stock non-rooted note last night. Looking into flashing ics + tmo's baseband. I've read through some guides that warned that some ics roms might not be flashed thru cwm, if you're coming from gb.
I've read through 3-4 different ics rom instructions, and nothing was out of ordinary (put on sd and flash via cwm or another recovery).
Is it a straight-forward process or some tinkering might be needed for some roms?
Thank you.
p.s. I apologize if this has been asked before (i'm sure), i just couldn't find a definite answer.
Agreed. New to this device/forum, and there is a lot of caution.. but none of the ICS rom threads seem to have much warning of an issue. It all seems very straight-forward.
I am on T-Mobile, but cannot see how that changes anything.
Just flash
Then flash your desired tmo modem.
Nuthin outta the ordinary
Bootloaders don't change so you can go back and forth between GB and ICS at will

thanks! so much easier than the htc devices i've had (sensation, amaze), where you had to tap dance a little to get ics over gb when we first got the leaks.
it was easy for me.

It was simple, just read... then read again... I choose the hard way and go for the no counter route so my counter has never tripped. a little more labor put in to it , but i emphasize on the READ and READ again... it all went flawless.. except that i had my phone with all my data pictures blah blah... i didn't make a backup i was to excited and despite the fact that it said everywhere that it would WIPE.. i some how ignored it and lost all my data that was not uploaded to Google. but it is all good now. I have tried almost all the ROMS, even some GB roms... and decided i like Team perfection ICS objection. [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630746]
but its all about personal preference.
everyone will claim theirs is better or it has something that makes it preferable over others....
You can try different versions like me and find one that you like.. I tried each one for at least a week or two before Wiping and loading another. again I have never tripped my counter. so I can allways go back to stock and use my warranty if needed.
Welcome to the AWESOME NOTE WORLD.
thank you, guys! the process was rather painless
a few questions though. coming from htc sense, i really don't like the stock gallery app that breaks the pics into folders. i'm used to the non-folder sorting by date. any apps i can try instead?
also, the browser doesn't auto-fit (yes, it's on) as good as the htc one. any alternatives?
thank you!
bump for a different gallery and auto-fit that works
also noticed that the camera doesn't have an option for a preview. the picture that has been take just disappears really quick. i'd like to set a 3 second preview. any aftermarket cam suggestion?
thank you!

Missing Zip files In ROM??? Need Help

Here is the story
Just got my HTC EVO LTE flashed/rooted from a guy on craigslist. ( Took him 2 hours ). Every thing seems to be working fine with Google now and everything. But when i got home and Went into the ES file explorer to activate the auto rotate tweak an remap menu button but they are missing.
After looking at a Youtube video i realized all of my zips are diffrent from the guy in the Video. I checked and it is running the 5.5 version of this ROM. The zips that are under Mean ROM are 4x5 rosie,kbd-notify-off,kernel-mean-1728, kernel-mean-1809, kernel stock, no camera-search, no camera-wake, screen on-sms, stock-auto-brightness and stock haptic.
I have none of the zips that are on the MeanRom file that dude has in the Youtube Video. Any help would you guys and gals can provide would be greatly appreciated. Loving the new battery percent circle meter.

This is one reason to do all the rooting and reading yourself, then you won't need to ask how to do after some guy did it for you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869377
One more question. Do I just follow the steps on the video if I already have this Rom on there. Or do I need to take the old one off somehow. If so, How?
Sorry for all the nine questions. I read the thread you posted but I couldn't find a answer.
The best thing to do is go into recovery, wipe everything but internal storage and sd card and flash the rom. You can probably just wipe cache and dalvik, but you might have issues. Best to start fresh. My advice is to read everything over and over and over, since you are new to this stuff.

Ok. I reflashed the Mean Rom on my phone without bricking it (Man i was nervous). But the same zip files are under the Mean Rom folder. Still none of the features i wanted are there. I dont know what to do now. I'll leave it to the proffesionals (You guys n gals). Or my other option is to go back to the Craigslist guy wich will charge me $20 bucks. Please help me fix this problem
Maybe the dev changed or removed things since that video was made? Have you looked through the meanrom thread completely?
Yep. Read the Thread for like a hour going threw all the post. I got the button remapping figured out thanks to a guy on here. Now i just need to get the auto rotate to work. Or does it still even have this feature. I know it use too from a Youtube Video. This is my first experience wih Rom and flashing so im new to all this. Hopefully i can quit bugging you guys soon.
I'm not too familiar with that rom, I can't say what it does and doesn't have other than what is posted on the first page. Someone will come along that can help more though.
That video was from version .8, MeanROM is now on version 5.5 that means it was more than 50 versions ago and no longer applies. I really wish Mikey would remove it from the original post since it no longer applies. You shouldn't have started a new thread, you should have asked this in the MeanROM thread. You went through a lot of extra steps for nothing. The LTE was updated to Sense 4.1 and ICS 4.04 which makes all the mods in that video obsolete. Go to the MeanROM thread and look at the answers you received there.

[Q] TWRP Recovery Touchscreen Issues? Clarification.

Hi everyone, I haven't posted here in a long time, (mostly because I find most answers) but this hasn't been talked about much.
I would like some clarification as to what is going on with TWRP recovery for the HTC EVO 4G LTE.
Ok so basically Iv been here with ICS for a while now because I refuse to update due to this. I am on 2.13.651.1 I would like the update to 3.16.651.3. I came across a post that someone was talking about TWRP touchscreen not being responsive, so I have not updated due to fear this will happen to me. If you would like to look here is the post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2126626.
Now since this was a while ago, im not sure if the issue is fixed or if it is still going on. I am just looking to see if anyone has had experience with this, or if everything has worked fine. Also im not new to rooting or development stuff, im just cautious with my $500 phone, I personally dont want to brick it.
Here would be my method for updating.
1. S-ON with fastboot oem lock
2. Take OTA update to 3.16.651.3
3. S-OFF via HTC DEV
4. Root
5. Get everything back by titanium backup.
Yes I know I probably left some steps out but that was just a quick summary. Anyway If anyone has ran into this, or even if you have taken the update and have not had a problem please let me know, so I can go on and do this. I would really like JB on my LTEVO.
BTW I do know I could use a custom ROM but I like to stay stock for some weird reason.
Thank you in advance to any help or feedback.
