Has anyone managed to get this to work with Safari? It's a mild annoyance that when I want to use Kies Air I have to use Firefox instead of my go-to browser (Safari). Does anyone know if there is a simple setting/url change that I can use that will enable Safari to work with it? I'm running on OS X if that makes any difference.
Thanks.
I use Safari. Seems fine to me. What problem are you having?
Safari can’t connect to the server.
Safari can’t open the page “http://1**.1**.1.6*:****/” because Safari can’t connect to the server “1**.1**.1.6*”.
(no idea if I need to censor that out, thought it would be safer).
Can you try without putting http://? I never entered that, just the number.

No need to censor those are local ips no risks.
It automatically adds the http:// to it after I press enter.
Weird. Is the number you entered is the same on your phone? Well, if you still unable to open I guess you've to use Firefox. Might have to wait some pro to solve it. haha
Yeah, double checked. It's weird that it works on FF. Maybe there's some setting enabled on Safari that's stopping it from working?
If you click on Safari > About Safari, what version are you using? Also, if you go to preferences > Advanced > Proxies > Change settings, do you have any of the options checked? Those are the only things I can think of that might make a difference.
Mine is 5.05.. Only Auto proxy check. Hmm...
all same here. I'm fresh out of ideas!
when you enter the url into your browser, and get the "cant connect" error, try restarting the phone. happened ot me as well and fixed it. same happened with my SG1, used an app called wifi explorer which was also to explore phone files wirelessly and had to just restart my phone after using app for the first time too.
Kies Air - Fix
I had this same problem, watched Kies connect once, but never connected again, kept stalling. Tried Mozilla, Chrome and Explorer, all with the same result. Then I noticed lots of Java icons stacked up in the taskbar, and under closer inspection, lots of instances of java started in the task manager.
Turns out the problem is the Java cache on your PC, it doesn't clear after you drop the connection, and prevents further re-connection attempts. Uninstall the Java on your PC and it all works fine. Not sure what you need to do if Java is essential to you.
Turns out the problem is specific to Java 6.24 and if you roll back to 6.23 it will be working again

So I was browsing for wallpapers on my Gtab and one of the sites prompted me with, ""windows security has found critical process activity on your system and will perform fast scan". I was going to force stop my browser but I accidentally hit "OK" on the popup and it started "scanning" before I could exit out of the browser.
Could this have installed any type of malware? I'm guessing not but I'm pretty paranoid about this kind of stuff.
I dont think
I guess you were using the browser in dekstop mode. Having said so, those virus/malware scan stuff are meant to affect windows computer. So since you were browsing in dekstop mode, it thought that was a computer. Therefore i don't think you should be worry!!!
Yea, I used Dolphin HD in desktop mode since I have the screen real estate. I hope you're right!
So, this is one of those problems where I just can't figure it out. I used Absolute System Tools to change my ro.product.model to GT-I9100 and ro.product.brand to samsung so I could play Modern Combat 3 on CM7 3.5. The next day I tried logging into Feedly and my device wouldn't load my Google Reader info and I couldn't access any of the feeds. It synced some header information regarding my "Tech" feed, but no individual feeds loaded. My first attempt to fix the problem was to change my model back to Touchpad and brand to HP, but that didn't work.
I was curious if it was my internet in general, so I logged on Dolphin HD and I connected just fine, I was able to browse any site no problem (No, it wasn't cache). I then noticed that in the bottom right hand corner my WiFi network was reading at "0%" with none of the bars filled. So I reset my router and still couldn't get Feedly to work. I then tried going to the market to redownload Feedly and noticed that the Market wouldn't connect either. I also tested Facebook and it doesn't connect. I tried toggling the Adblocker in Absolute System Tools and that didn't fix the problem.
So the prognosis; I can connect to WiFi, but applications such as Facebook, Feedly, and the Android Market won't recognize my connection. Browsers such as Dolphin HD and the default Android Browser will connect and so will Sync. My info from Absolute System Tools is set back to stock, but something isn't working properly concerning WiFi.
If anyone could post a backup of their build.prop, that might help (Although I haven't been able to properly load a backup save file from AST). I honestly don't know where the save file is, as I'm pretty new to AST, so a little info on that might be helpful.
I'm one step away from using Titanium Backup and formatting to a stock CM7 3.5, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Few days back, I start experiencing some Adware issues in my windows machine and windows phone. I have a blog which server Google Ads. Now, If I load my blog or any blogpost and then starts click randomly anywhere, it open a popup to ad.adsmatte.com/rot.aspx?and_some_parameters. I noticed that, I can experience the same problem in any website that servers Google Ads. I suspect this to be an Adware. But, I'm not sure how this creeps into my machine as well as in my windows phone. All the software that I use are genuine and no pirated copies are there in my machine.
But, the most surprising this I noticed is, my Windows Phone is also affected by the same problem. Since, IE in Windows Phone don't allow extensions and has proper sandboxing architecture, then how come IE in windows phone could be affected? I tried resetting my browser in both desktop as well as mobile, but didn't helped at all. Also, I launched the browser in InPrivate mode, which has the same problem too. . I even tried loading the same in FireFox (with AdBlock installed), but has the same problem.
I searched the internet for a solution and came across these 2 links - http://forums.androidcentral.com/moto-g-2014/528571-adware-redirects-most-websites.html, http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=8189. And, I'm surprised by the timing of these issue. Is this a new Adware out-break? Is spreads to all machines connected in the same router, if I got it right.
Is there any fix? How can I get rid of this?
All machines connected to my wifi have gotten Infected with this admatte.com . Condition of my phone is worse , I cannot open any site from any browser as I get instantly directed to this site. It does look like an outbreak , because it has been reported on internet since yesterday only and no solution is working. No anti virus is able to detect this adware. So we really need help.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Ad-matte
I am facing the same issue. It infected my PC, iphone and my android. I tried malwarebytes with no luck. The attack is so bad that I am unable to open any article in NDTV app. Did anyone find a solution?
adsmatte
All this started just a few days ago. And yes it infects all the devices connected to the same router. What i observed was if you just try the link ad.adsmatte.com it redirects to google ad services, i dont know what to make out of it though. I have been using adguard extension in chrome and havent faced the problem since the installation. I would recommen you guys to do the same.

best solution worked for me
Got this virus on Firefox days ago, I had tried many means to delete it but did not help. I followed the guides here
removebrowserhijacker.com/remove-ads-by-ad-adsmatte-com-pop-up-how-to-get-rid-of-ad-adsmatte-com-adware
, reset browser setting and remove add-ons, then restart. It did help something.
For Chrome go to Settings--> Advanced --> Do not Track
Start the Do not Track option. This works for chrome browser in android mobile phones
ad.adsmatte prob solved..
I have been searching the prob all over the internet but at last my own intellect got me the solution... Its simple solution for android phones ..just go to wifi menu.. Long press ur wifi id and select modify settings.. In there change DHCP to static Ip and fill in the details as per shown there already.. In DNS type 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and save it.. Its done..No more rubbish admatte ...Such a headache i ve been through for a month
wat prashu posted sounds dandy except that I WI settings on my android - but Save button I not highlighted, and no use anyway
practically, my internet on hone is disabled because of the redirector.
If anyone is having any problems with the advertisement.just move to the router settings and head off to LAN and unselected dns automatically.. Select the dns manually and enter Primary dns- 8.8.8.8 Secondary dns- 8.8.4.4
I am facing an issue with some website that does not load on my System after windows 11 installation.
The website opens well on my mobile but it gives issues on my Samsung Desktop.
I am using operating system 11 with all the software updated.
Like whenever I open a website (MOD EDIT: link removed) on the Desktop, it failed to load.
I have tried different browsers like Chrome, Opera, etc but it gives the same issue.
I have also tried clearing the cache and browsing data but still all in vain.
I hope that you will assist me in resolving the issue.
It might be due to the windows defender. Try disabling the virus and threat option in settings.
@sohaibiqbal123 Thanks for your quick reply. I have disabled the windows defender but still, I am facing the same issue. I don't know why this is happening. Should I reinstall the windows?
Did you tried microsoft edge? it is working for me
Go to browser settings, open privacy search and services menu, check your settings there and privacy level.
It could be either a browser or an antivirus that is blocking some websites.
First of all, it's a good idea to change your browser to something else. We recommend chrome or firefox.
Check if you can access these websites in Chrome and Firefox. If you can access it, your browser was blocking those websites because the certificate for that website has expired.
If you change your browser and still can't access these websites, your antivirus is blocking those websites and you should try another antivirus to check.
The system built in web browser... i don't know what it's called but it's whats used when various logins are needed ... it's causing me nothing but grief. Even if I set another web browser to default, this stupid built in thing opens for authentications and it doesnt work. Other devices I have do a similar thing but don't cause problems.
How do I delete this system browser and force it to open say Firefox for web-app authentications?
Why not simply deactivate it?

If i do that, nothing opens when an authenticating link is pressed. It just crashes to home screen. Also, I see there is a Android Web View Beta in the playstore, and I activated that. It doesn't seem to do anything different (I also deactivated the original one).
