Guys, good evening.
I have met more than seven people with problems in receiving SMS on Atrix in Brazil, including those imported, each owner with different carriers, it had already made tests of a variety of ways in devices and so far nothing has solved.
I ask your help to solve this situation, because the Motorola Brazil only evades the problem.
The Atrix simply stop receiving SMS, forcing users to reboot the phone.
From time to time receive the same SMS multiple times.
My previous phone was a milestone, and the baseband that were within the Open Recovery resolved many such problems.
I tried putting the same files from the baseband milestone in Atrix, but the files do not exist in Atrix.
Can someone please tell me how Brazilian users should proceed in this case?
Thanks.

Check your PMs
Lets see if these things work good sir.
I am having this exact issue here with my Atrix.
Also a Brazilian Atrix. (Daniel, I was the one sending you the PM through another user).
Also, I'm unable to root the Atrix using GladRoot or SuperOneClick..
Same problem here.. Carrier VIVO
Hello all.
I am having the same problem with my brand new Atrix. My carrier is VIVO. If anyone already found a solution, please help!
The only difference is.. I'm a VIVO employee so I am using internal teams to ask for a resolution for this problem.
My theory is that because this is a new device, there might be some extra configuration related to HLR or something else. iPhone had a similar requirement to all carriers.
As soon as I find a solution I can post the steps here.

I`ve just found out that Samsung would "send" us the update that most of us were waiting for a long a time. However, I have no idea if I would be able to get it or not.
Why? I went to NY a couple of months ago and I bought the phone over there... I came back to Europe and I am using the phone without problems except for this issue with the GPS.
I am still able to receive this update even after unlock the phone to use it overseas? If not, what can I do? I have never rooted my phone or any other of those things, to be honest I dunno much about phones.
What are the benefits of rooting? What are the ROMS for? (just trying to catch up a bit without creating 2 threads ).
Cheers!
Moved to Q&A and edited forst post and title.
I guess you have a valid question cocnerning the GPS and Update....but if you want to know about Rooting and ROMS start reading...all the info you require can be found with out starting a new thread.
Thanks!
Somebody? Please!
No one? Please help me out
Ive been to T-Mobile here in Germany and they have no idea about this! It would be so nice if I could get this info somewhere
Hi guys,
I just bought a Motorola Atrix 4G from Ebay. However I was wondering, what ROM should I use, since I live in the Netherlands?
I already noticed a few roms here, however, since I live in the Netherlands, I want to know which one I should use for the best performance within my country.
Can someone please advice me?
Thank you very much.

Sorry I forgot to mention it's the cell phone from AT&T carrier. I already know where to unluck it, thanks to this forum!
I am really sorry if this is a dumb question, but I couldn't find anything on it on the forums for Dutch people. :S
You're welcome.

I apologize for Shaydar. That is an incredibly rude comment to make for absolutely no reason.
Make sure the ROMs are compatible with your network. I know that Canadian users were warned to avoid using certain ROMs at first.
However, I no longer own an Atrix, so you might need to some more research on the subject.

No problem, luckily there are some more decent folk around here. Oh well, I guess on every forum their are a few a..........
I never heard of a provider blocking a ROMs overhere in the Netherlands. But then again we are allowed a lot of stuff overhere, legalised soft drugs, red light district and so on. So I doubt it will going to block a custom ROM, but of course you never know.
So the ROMs, depending they aren't blocked, do work without problems with other countries, right? As a matter of fact, it doesn't matter what or who's ROM it is, the ROM itself doesn't provide the connection (phone/data/gps). Right?
Sorry if I misunderstood. Oh well; even if someone said it wouldn't work, it doesn't matter that much anymore, since the phone will arrive here within 2 days.
By the way, you returned the Atrix 4G? Didn't you like the phone or was there another reason?
I believe Canadian Atrix users have to use certain ROMs due to hardware compatibility. I'm no expert in Canadian Atrii but they've been waiting until very recently for an SPL that's compatible with their phones so I assume it's either compatibility between the ROM and the phone hardware (bootloader maybe?) or between the ROM and the network.
Sorry if I sounded rude.
All roms are just original firmware with skin and some mods.
Guess the guy sold his cell cause the bootloader was locked and some things like the real 4G, 1080p recording, and gingerbread are not yet available for the phone.
I am from france and all the roms avaible on this forum worked fine.
Got a preference for GreyBlur.
Enjoy your Atrix when you got it.
Mine cost me 425€ all costs in.

You purchased an AT&T phone so ant of the ROMs (greyblur, gingerblur, Gladiatrix) will work for you.

Okay thanks. After doing some researching I will be going to use the GladiAtrix2v4.2.3 (not themed) version.
Let's hope I manage to get it working properly.
On a sidenote; my phone didn't arrive yet.
One thing: don't be surprised when you don't see the earphones in the package.
At&T just don't provide them.... But there's a HDMI wire.... Weird choice...
And plug your phone to the wall-charger if it doesen't seem to boot.

Ah okay... I don't care much about earphones, though other people might. But thanks for the information.
Also thanks for the extra pointer regarding the wall-charger.
Darn... I also wanted to order the Motorola vehicle dock including rapid charger, but it seems they don't have that overhere yet or in my neighbouring countries. :S
Cleaned the thread, back on topic.
Simple question; is there a way to disable those annoying messages about updates?
I rooted and installed gladiatrix and it has been working perfectly since then. However I am not getting messages about installing an update (4.1.83.en.US).
I select "Install later" every time, however after 3 hours it's back and it's getting annoying. Or is the update safe to use on a rooted gladiatrix phone? If not, how can I disable these messages completely?
Hi guys, I think we should have a separate section here so that we could share our experiences with this particular model...I am very sorry if I pissed off any moderators here but since there are no threads regarding this model I felt like I had to do it
I wanna start by telling you that I bought this model for 550$ from Seoul just a week ago and I am very happy. Actually my aim was to get Samsung Galaxy S 3 but I missed it by a week But then saw this phone and said lets give it a try. And guess what , I am more than impressed Anyways after checking couple of forums I saw that official ICS Package was out I upgraded it and then rooted by the help of this forum. Definitely better performance and nice tweaks. But this came with one small issue ; sms problem. when there is an incoming SMS it says "No Caller ID" . Again after little bit googling I found the app called Handcent and it did the trick. Until an international or custom Rom comes out this could be the solution I suppose
One of the biggest differences of the Korean version is you cant go in to the secret menus by typing the secret codes in to the keypad so that caused some trouble while looking for the imei number and trying to change the SMSC ...

I already investigated , the blocks dont seem to be the same , the kernel is not the same either , probably needs to be reoriented or somethign and the usr key layout (obviously) needs to be changed . so with a modified updater script and proper kernel by flashing only system it *should work*
Why is this in the development thread? Rom/Mods/Modems only from what I am aware of.

Why don't you just make a bounty thread? If money is involved maybe it might convince a dev to try cooking up a rom and making a custom kernel. It is always nice to get free development but money can motivate people. Put up some money and I am sure others will too and see if you can't get it done. I have seen lots of other threads on your model and I know everyone with your device wants it badly. Its worth a try anyway.
So if I was to unlock my i717 and took it to Korea it would work with their service providers? :s

hi people, i use this korean model as well.
I am new to android (in fact, started 2 months ago) and not a native english speaker. So, i'm having a lot trouble with some technical words u guys use.
The thing is, i'm thinking of rooting my phone. but there arent much forums and threads on this model. I was wondering if the rooting guides here would work on my phone? and there are so many of em (also for i717...) ...
SOOooo, if possible could you quote the rooting guide (or link to thread) which will definitely work on my phone. i cant afford to make my phone obsolete
Help is much appreciated. Thanks
(btw, i'm from Mongolia. heya, fellow earthlings... haha)
Korean devs are at androidpub and matpclub, but not really serious development is there. Few kernel devs like tegrak and mostly cosmetic/porting from International ROM.
Korean note have 32GB/64GB variety, three diffrent carrier (SKT: HSPA+2100 LTE800/1800, KT: HSPA+2100 LTE1800, LGU: CDMArev.B1800 LTE800), hardware button, DMB, carrier specific addon plugins and frameworks, and pink note
and SHV-E160L for LGU, which is CDMA only(like Verizon). Pretty sure ATT note ROMs are not portable.

Why would you even tell him? Better yet...why care? At least he started one thread for a whole model, to discuss all parts. He could be proliferating. Lets be nice here.
When there was no i717 forum, people discussed it in the Int. forum.
The i717R is discussed here...even though the forum is titled "AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717" as it should be.
Be easy on him. This is good for a chat, and it's about as close to the right place as it gets. He was honest about the fact that he knew there was no other place, and he was nice.
And his specific version has LTE and is powered by a snapdragon. So perhaps this truely is as good as it gets on XDA.

I was searching for an answer for my sms problem and I found out an answer for something else. I was not able to enter any secret codes for the system menus before now it turns out that there is a hidden menu placed by the korean network which you can enter by typing 319 712 358 and then when it asks fr the password you type 0821 and Vala! You have access to the system settings now.
Now here is the question I can not make a video call because my LTE/3G server dns is a korean server address. Does anybody know where I could find the network server dns addresses for the Gsm Networks...
i broke my e160s menu and back button by flashing i717 kernel. i was able to flash cwm and i717 roms but orientation and those buttons are not working. flashing back original kernel and firmware didnt restore those buttons. i could get the phone back working without those buttons. but now i have to use another app to trigger those buttons.

Hi , as far as I know you can unbrick or recover your phone from any kind of situation. They have released the tool to do that. I can not post another forum's link here so just check the chinese version xda which is koxda and use google translate. You can find a lot of info there but it is hard to understand because of the translation. So actually that is the main reason I started this thread...
Im Glad man that youve open this threat for us.
i also use this device. Galaxy note shv-e160..UNRAZ how did you fix your sms problem? need it badly?? please
As I have wrote before in one of my posts in this thread I solved this with the free app called Handcent sms where you could download it from the market I can both send and recieve sms with no problem. But one handicap is I cant use any Turkish characters nor can exceed the 160 characters limit. Then you see the failed sending the message error... I am waiting for the update which would hopefully solve all the miseries One of the guys in this forum installed Honeycomb from the Koxda forum and solved the problem like that but I dont like using old firmware while there is an update
So I have searched on this forum before, and I did find many posts as usual. But the main ones I were looking fro were from 1 or 2 years ago, and the thread had been closed. In those threads, many people have asked for the Moto E XT830C to be rooted, but no one has ever foun a way. So I was just wondering does someone has an answer to all of our problems, or is this phone a lost cause. If it is, then we can all blame Tracfone/StrightTalk
My sister has the same phone from Total Wireless I'm trying to unlock and hopefully put a newer version of Android on using a custom rom so I'm wondering if there's a way to force unlock it as well.

Just don't buy OPPO devices if you're looking to root. They don't allow it and XDA encourages them.

Heya folks, good to be back on the best site on the web. I haven't done any phone work since 2010-2013 when I was working with Verizon Droid razr Maxx and HTC one Maxx. Locked up tighter than a virgins honey pot.
So, now I have a Thailand purchased Oppo a9 2020 cph1937. It's oem and bootloader unlocked and tether is wide open. I run DTAC as a carrier pay $15 for unlimited data.
This phone is absolutely wonderful. I have been out of the game for to long to start flashing ROMS, Insecure Kernals, TWRP Recoveries and all that. I have alot of reading to do to catch up with today's methodology.
It seems like it's a one button root type world today with King Root, framaroot etc. etc.
My phone is wide open, I can run TMobile on my dual SIM when I'm in the states no problem. I'm hoping someone has a definitive ways to simply get this phone rooted and get SuperSU on it (Chainfire is the man).
I'm not wanting to flash ROMs kernels or anything other than simply get root access so I can unlock some features I've come to be so used to having, o we clocking, adaway and several other features I want back, I must re-learn today's systems again and it would appear these phones would be easy to root but I'm not hearing good things from the US based equipment. I'm hoping overseas models have more options and are easier to root.
With this being a non American locked down phone with oem and bootloader unlockable with the flip of a switch, does anybody have any known ways to gain superuser on this type phone?
I hate to ask and have always done my own reading and work but the days I was actively rooting we had to get s-off, unlock bootloader as well as flash recoveries insecure kernels etc. Seem gone. Now im so far out of the game I would really appreciate any info that will help.
If root is possible any suggestions where to look are greatly appreciated. I will do all the reading and work myself, I'm not asking for someone to root it just asking for any info or possible avenues to look at that I'm unaware of.
Simple superuser access is all that's requested. Any help is greatly appreciated.
It's good to be back on the best site on the web again. Thank you for any help that can be given. I will do the work myself I've just been out of the game so long its all changed from Verizon Droid razr maxx, HTC one maxx exploit rooting, S-off with weaksauce, recoveries, twrp, backups etc.
The phone is absolutely wonderful. Unlimited data fast speed and I love it.
Never a lag tethering my Chromecast my laptop a Huawei CRO-L22 phone and an Xbox 360s all at them same time. The 5000 mAh reverse charging battery is awesome, it's 48 mp camera is magnificent and the Google built in translator in my camera is a God send.
Please list any info you have. I'm quite impressed with this phone more than any phone I've ever owned . It sports 4 cameras, magnificent pics, highly customizable, a 5000 mAh reverse charging battery I can run all that for a day plus, 30 minute fast charge, very user friendly, excellent security, 128 gb internal and a 256gb external storage is phenomenal. Voice commands for everything, secure environment, secure keyboard, ability to uninstall Facebook (thank you Lord) as well as many bloatware pre-installed apps can be installed, very fast even tethering 4-5 devices same time, Bluetooth 5.0, so much to list and it is virtually advertisement free.
I'm sure there are better phones for sure but for 275.00, no contract, 15.00 unlimited data ultra fast speeds, excellent graphics I couldn't ask for a sweeter piece of equipment. I truly hope somebody has some info and can take a few minutes giving me some possible solutions or where to find the info Thanks again. Good day to all.

Forgive me, I'm unsure how to dump my rom so people can look at it? Can you explain or direct me to a specific thread on how to accomplish this? Thank you for your time.

Hi, I have a Oppo a9 2020 too.
In a telegram group I have been told that you can root with these steps: (don´t have permission for url)
androidresult.com/root-oppo-a9-2020
Has anyone tried it?
Thanks so much

These are generic rooting instructions, first you need is a TWRP recovery image for the A9 which doesn't even exist.
Why do you XDA is encouraging them?

Just don't buy OPPO devices if you're looking to root. They don't allow it and XDA encourages them.

Why do you say XDA encouraged them? @Supermatt01

OPPO won't allow unlocking the bootloader and rooting. And XDA promotes OPPO devices any way. They used to not promote anything that wasn't development friendly. Now they seem to promote any company that makes them money.
