Is it possible to sync several calendars of one exchange account to the phone?
not supported by EAS protocol.
But how is it working on the iphone then?
I have all my exchange-calendars available there.
Is there any workaround, or any other way how I can get my exchange calendars to be synced to the phone?
I'm sorry, I'm stupid and wrong. It's shared calendars that are not allowed by protocol. Multiple calendars are supported by Touchdown, but your question whether stock gingerbread activesync or any possible Samsung enhancements can do it too remains open.
Can anyone help here? Is it possible to sync multiple exchange-calendars to the android-calendar?
Any news here? Can anyone who has the device already please help here?
Fix
Just put your calendars at the same heirarchical level in the exchange folder list. Worked for me. Makes no difference to Exchange/Outlook.
Do you happen to know how to get multiple contact sets working (without using Touchdown)?
BTW I just moved to SGS2 from an iPhone 3G - the exchange integration on the iPhone is way better than Android. Battery life is abysmal too...at the moment.

This does not work for me.
So, I'm asking again: Is there any way to sync multiple calendars from ONE exchange account to the Galaxy S2. Touchdown does not work correctly either.
I know, the Motorola Razr can sync multiple exchange calendars. So, it obviously depends on the manufacture's implementation of the calendar app and Samsung is failing here.
So- is there any way? E.g. a different rom which supports it?
With my Galaxy S3 (using OMEGA 8.0 ROM) it neither works to sync multiple calendars. Only the main exchange calendar is synced.
Come on Google, Android is now on 4.0.4, iOS is waay better in this aspect here! Time to fix that!!! REALLY embarassing...

I have syncd with exchange ("corporate') but the thumbnail pictures have not syncd. anyone know why / have or have not got a similar issue?
Same here. Syncing to Exchange 2010, but I get none of my contact photos.

I'm using Touchdown, no issues with pictures downloading for contacts from Exchange... Must be a native Exchange client issue.

i'm having the same problem with contact thumbnails from my Exchange contacts as well. no issues with my other Android devices, only the Atrix4G. it must be a MotoBlah issue...
Ditto and very disappointing.

this is not a solution for the contact pic sync issue, it's more an option. i stumbled across an app called Enhanced Email 1.16.2 that allows you to sync multiple exchange accounts, integrates into the stock calendar and contacts apps and it also synced my contact pics as well. the app also uses the volume key to increase/decrease font size in the emails. i had to shell out $10 bucks, but that investment is making my Atrix experience a little better and the contact pic sync issue is behind me. other features of the email app i like: it gives you the option to use the Exchange Pin. i said no and am using pattern lock instead.
EDIT: i did notice a (minor to me) bug; not all of my contacts birthdays were synced.

Fantastic tip. It was well worth the $10. It's kind of ironic my old hacked up HTC HD2 with WinMo wiped and Android running off the SD card had better email than the Atrix.
I'm looking forward to an update that improves email and fixes the slow internet speeds.

yep. knew this as well. 2 things i miss with the stock email app (compared to the HTC Sense email app) is the ability to increase font size in email and the "hack" to disable the Exchange Pin requirements. and then there's the picture issue.

I am having problems with the pictures not syncing too. We are also on Exchange 2010. Is everyone else using 2010, or are all versions of Exchange having problems. I only ask because when I decided to check the Motoblur info it only mentioned supporting Exchange 2003 and 2007, which I thought was odd.
This is also my first Motorola (in a long while), but after doing some quick research via Google, I see a lot of people complaining about the same thing from as much as a year ago on other Moto phones. Despite being nice hardware, I'm really irritated with the Motorola "experience" after coming off of my Captivate on Cognition.

No, the problem of contact pictures not being synchronized affects Motoblur talking to Exchange 2007 servers (like mine) as well.
I heartily second the disappointment in the email. For Exchange users Motoblur is a FAR WORSE experience than directly syncing with Android's built in utilities. I really miss the email on my Captivate... but that is the only thing I miss.

You miss Exchange on Captivate? - I can't imagine why -
I couldn't see my read messages, I couldn't edit appointments i created, I could not mark messages as read in bulk. Worst of all was the lag - even with Voodoo lagfix if i attempted to delete 5 messages it took forever. No GAL access or it was for email address only. No subfolder sync support either. So the Atrix is missing picture sync, that i can deal with. I can't search the server, but again, a minor issue for me.

From the reading that I did a few weeks back, it's a long-standing issue with the MotoBlur Exchange synchronization. HTC's Exchange synchronization does contact pictures, Motorola's doesn't.
We are using Exchange 2008 and my contact pictures also do not sync. This is a Huge thing for me.
Updated to 87, but no change in this feature. I was hoping this was a small thing that would be included when moving to 2.2.2. Looks like have to hold out hope until 2.3....
so I downloaded ENHANCED EMAIL, which IMHO has a better email handling program , but uses all the other stock programs for Contacts, Diary etc. it DOES SYNC pictures!
You need to remove your blur exchange account otherewise you get duplicates.
Enhanced email is easier to read, faster and just better IMHO
Hello, the Atrix has just been released in France and I'm fcacing the same problems : not possible to sync in Motoblur my contacts and Pictures of contacts.
Another big trouble, I'm not able to sort the contacts by Last Name/First Name : only First Name/Last Name.
It's a pitty as many other smartphones propose that (Samsung Galaxy S2,...)

Hi all,
Received my new Thunderbolt on Friday and all looks good except battery life and the Exchange ActiveSync Calendar sync. The battery life I can work around, but it seems a lot of people trying to sync the TB to an Exchange 2010 calendar are having issues. I cant post links yet, but a google search for "thunderbolt exchange calendar" will show the posts from others.
Here is what is happening:
When the account is created on the phone, the initial sync of calendar fails with "sync is currently experiencing problems". No existing events are pulled to the phone. However, you can create new events and they do sync immediately with the Exchange calendar - edits and deletes are fine too.
This is likely a Sense 2.0 issue because 2.2 with Sense 1 works fine on other devices with Exchange 2010.
I have tried removing the account several times, clearing data in the calendar app, removed all sync accounts and readded - nothing works. I changed the duration of data sync for calendar, nothing.
I am going to try removing the phone relationship from the Exchange server and start over to see if that works.
Just posting here as an FYI and to see if anyone has an idea for troubleshooting.
Tried wiping the phone and deleting the Exchange relationship - no go, same issue.
I am having the same issue. There is a Google thread in their forums with others as well
I hope they get it fixed soon.
Exchange issues have plagued 2.2 for some time.
Works great in 2.3 however (not a help I know).

I'm not sure if that plan is similar to the following two data packages offered by Verizon.
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/...m=phoneFirst&featureType=phone&featureId=2547
I have broken Active Sync as well. I love HTC phones and my Incredible was killer phone wise, synced with no issues - even when the Motorola phones where broken due to an update that forced security policies to the phones.
I just spoke to someone at Verizon and they where not aware of any issues. The data package shouldn't effect sync issues cos I haven't paid their exchange package EVER and have had 0 issues with exchange mail with 2 other phones. This is exclusive to the Tbolt.
FYI...Only fix is to Root device
Active sync works with everything once I rooted the TB. The calendar sync didn't work before root. I rooted and kept the default HTC ROM and kernel and then the calendar sync started working. I didn't try contact sync before I was rooted so I can't comment on the validity of this working before root. Hope this sheds some light on the subject. I seems that VZW blocks the sync active sync unless you purchase the higher "business" data plan.

Rooting doesnt make any difference for us, we have 3 Bolts at work all rooted running different ROMS and none would sync calendar with Exchange.
The workaround is to go into your calendar, change to list view, select all items, add a category (any will do). Then select all items again and remove the category. After that sync of calendar items both past and future will work.
Hi
I am getting the Galaxy SII in the next few days and I am coming form a windows 6.5 phone, but have also used iPhones for work purposes.
Has anyone tested the exchange setup on the new Galaxy?
I am a long standing hotmail user (please dont start a bashing thread hotmail vs gmail etc ) and I want to stay using hotmail.
Is the exchange client on the phone now capable of doing everything using a hotmail account?
If not whats the best solution?
Use a different mail client on the phone?
Link hotmail to gmail account?
I've done a little searching and it seems that different models of android phones seem to handle exchange email in different ways as some phones seem to work others dont.....
I also would like to know what advantages gmail gives to you over hotmail only in reference to Andriod?
Many thanks

Only thing missing is the ability to push multiple folders
If you need full exchange-ish funcionality, then touchdown is probably the best app to use.

Same problem here. I've been with hotmail for almost 15 years and don't want to change. I want a client that syncs the way activesync did on my winmo phone (with sub folders too)....searched and searched with no luck. I can't believe that it doesn't come with the default client

I work for a government organization that uses android phones to sync with exchange. I currently have a customer with a Thunderbolt who has synced the mail, contacts, and calendar to exchange. The issue I'm having trouble resolving is that current month appointments sync fine, however anything older than a month, will only show reoccurring appointments. The customer claims they were there before, however I cannot confirm this. Anyone know of issues with exchange and this phone that would cause this problem. I'm an avid android user myself, however I'm not familiar with all the issues related to this phone.

We've used HTC THunderbolt and HTC Droid Incredible 2 phones with exchange 2003 and 2010. It seems that there's a couple serious bugs in HTC's implementation of their calendar/task sync. The main problem we see is that appointments and tasks don't get updated once they're initially synced.
I've spoken to HTC (who is useless) and VZ doesn't seem to understand the issue. Frustrating.
THe touchdown application works, but I personally find it to be clunky.
Sorry that I don't have better news for you. Please keep this thread updated should you find a solution!!
The sync itself seems to work fine, it will update the calendar with new appointments via push messages. The problem is though old appointments drop unless they are reoccurring. Using a third part app from the market may not necessarily work for our customers since their accounts are business accounts, that the organization pays for.

Good to hear that sync is working better for you than it is for us. I didn't mean to imply that you should use a third party service. I'm suggesting sticking with exchange but using Touchdown on the handheld to get the calendar items.
From memory, I think there might be a setting on the Thunderbolt to specify how long in the past calendar items show for. I think it's under sync settings (but I don't have a device to check it on).
I saw a setting for mailbox retention but not for the calendar. Touchdown would be fine except its a payed app. The free version is only a 30 day trial. I tried the normal remove and re-add account, this works 99% of the time on other android phones, but no joy. I have a feeling there is something in Android that limits the amount of past appointments, I just can't find any documentation on it.
Hi
Did not find any thread about this yet, so sorry if this is a well known problem.
I was working with my TFP and our company e-mail, and i wanted to use Exchange Active Sync, on my TFP, but i cannot for the love of God find anyway to get this to work.
It works partly good, but not completely
For instance we use auto signature from our Exchange server, and this gets added when mails are sent from Galaxy S2 (2.3.6) or a Windows Phone 7 (Omnia 7) but from my TFP (4.0.3 Stock ROM) this is impossible to do.
How should and where should i enable this on my TFP (Also heard an iPad 3 user complain about it, but haven't had time to check out his device)
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Ever since I got Touchdown by Nitrodesk (app on Google Play) a couple of years ago, I have never looked back at another Exchange Activesync client. It supports all the exchange policies that we use and is supported well by the developer.
There is a trial version so you can test it before you decide to purchase. There is a version for tablets and one for phones.

You can add a signature in Account Settings in the email app. It doesn't inherit the signature from your Exchange account, but it works well enough.
+1 on Touchdown for Exchange. In Android you can sync various folders from your Exchange server, but if you have any rules on the server that automatically move new mail into different folders, Android won't alert you to those new emails. Touchdown will, along with a plethora of other features.
+ 1 for Touchdown . Working very well
