[Q] HD2 registry key to disable tactile feedback - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am looking for a registery key to disable the tactile feed back option as shown in settings -> personalize -> Vibration -> Vibrate when I tap buttons..........
I have found the registery key to disable the vibrate in the keyboard and added it into my oskitchen build. I have googled and searched XDA but cant quite find the registry key I am looking for.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think you should ask this over in the chef's central forum.

Holding softkeys for things

Hey guys I seem to be having a problem with my softkeys from a dozen or so flashes ago and it hasn't been fixed. So basically if you wanted to access the task manager or voice search before you could hold either the home or search softkeys. My problem is that as soon as I hold the home key, it acts as a single press and it doesn't register a hold. Is there anyzone who knows how to fix this? Thanks a bunch!

In order to configure available settings, follow the steps below:
1. Press the Home Key
2. Press the Menu Key
3. Tap on Settings
Sound and Display in that menu you should be able to adjust the sensitivity of the touch and see if that resolves the issue
Sorry its not the intensity of the haptic and those settings don't have touch sensitivity. Im also running the newest bionix if that helps.

[Q] How do you disable haptic feedback when holding HOME key?

I'm on StreakDroid 1.9 and it's driving me nuts, I can't find it!
You know when you hold the HOME key to bring up most recent apps? I'm trying to configure mine to sip as less juice as possible.
'Settings > sound > haptic feedback' to disable completely.

That doesn't disable the holding HOME button vibration. I would like to know how to do this as well.

Thanks but for some weird reason, that doesn't disable haptic feedback when you long press the HOME key?

Actually it does in some way..
If you hold the Home button for ~ 1 - 1.5s it wouldn't vibrate, but if you hold it longer than say 1.5s it would vibrate ( found it very annoying too), both will give you the recent app menu.
My fix is to use Prehome (from market, set Prehome to default launcher and set your preferred launcher in prehome), instead of holding Home button, you can double tap it to bring up the recent menu

Thanks, that's a decent workaround.

[Q] Customize Cap Buttons

Is there a mod or kernel that allows us to customize the capacitive button actions (e.g. add a long press action to the menu button or change the short press action for the search button)? I haven't come across anything in my searching, but I haven't seen anything that explicitly says it's not possible either.
Check out the LaunchKey App...it maybe what you are looking for.
I can't post links...but you can find it over on the "Android Apps and Games" xda forum
Thanks man. I was hoping for something that would add long presses to the menu and back buttons too, but the custom menu option for the search key is sweet. Thanks again.

How to disable 3 dot menu bottome bar ?

Hey peeps
if anyone would know how to disable the bottom 3dot menu, and just to long press home key for menu like they did on the htc one / x etc....
Cheers
I wish I had a three dot menu button.
Xposed may fix the 3dot disable option. Venom rom has the option to edit the home key long press to offer menu or other choices.
Yes you will need a custom ROM such as mentioned above, also Viper ROMS support this function.

[Guide] Replace MENU with Recent Apps on CM12.1

This guide is for the Note 3 Neo and should work on all variants.
If you're looking at this thread then you should have noticed that the Menu key on @FireLord 's CM12.1 is mapped to MENU and you can't change it from Buttons in Settings since it only has Power Button, Recents Button, Volume Button and Home button and no Menu Button.
Of course, there are a bunch of Xposed Modules such as MenuBegone available to do the same but if you'd rather not install anything or if you just like to mess with your phone then this is the guide to follow
So here's what you to do make your Menu key function as a Recent's key.
Download any Root Brower (I'd suggest the one included in Rom Toolbox)
Navigate to /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl
Open the File Generic.kl as a text file
Look for key 139 MENU in the list
Replace MENU with APP_SWITCH
Save and Reboot
Now your Menu key will function as a Recents Key and you'll also be able to change what tapping it and long-pressing it does through Buttons In Settings.
Thanks for the info.
but do you know how to enable vibration on them?

Oh I'm sorry, I'm afraid i don't know about that. All the vibrations are on and it seems only the Soft keys aren't vibrating. I'll fill you in if i do find something out though.
