Vibrate not working - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently purchased a fascinate from ebay and to my knowledge the vibrate wasn't working when I received it, but I'm wondering if there's an identifiable problem.
Searches indicate that there might be a kernel problem?
Phone is rooted, but it's stock ED01 and kernel is 2.6.32.9.
All settings are where they should be: in vibrate mode, haptic feedback enabled, vibration intensity maxed.
Looking for some ideas. I've emailed the seller to see what he has to say, but no reply in a couple of days.

Stuck vibrate on email or message

A few times now, I've had the vibrate function get stuck when I receive an email or message. I am able to get it to stop if I open the email/message or navigate to the tab. I have it set to sound a short alert and vibrate. Anyone else have this issue or have an idea what it may be?
Nothing need be running (other than Activesync and possibly file Explorer) to get this issue. Stock Sprint ROM with a few mild registry edits.
I have had the same problem. So far no one has been able to find a solution. For now just take off the vibrate.
Stuck Vibrate
Same here. Mine has done it 2 or 3 times while on the charger. I wonder what whould happen if I were away from the phone. Would it vibrate forever?
Hope the next ROM fixes this. I'm on stock ROM with mild reg edits also.

[Q] Phone not ringing on Normal

I've had my DNA since late November and I used to keep it on vibrate all of the time. Now that I keep it on Normal sound, I've noticed that the phone doesn't ring when I get a call. If I'm lucky, I'll catch it lighting up and be able to answer it. Is anyone else having this problem? Are there any ways to fix it?
I do have a song that I've downloaded as my ringtone. I also have the Call Control app. I was wondering if either of these could be the problem?
Any suggestions?

[Q] Notification LED not Working after Resurrecting from Sudden Death

Has anyone ever experienced strange rare issue with notification LED not working in 4.1.2? I've been searching and digging around the web, but it seems that this issue is quite rare and I haven't found any solution that works.
The LED is on during charging, boot-up, power off and even diagnostic mode (*#0*#) but never lights up for any notification event no matter what I set in Display Settings.
.
This issue started to occur after the phone got bricked by the recently infamous sudden death issue and Samsung replaced its circuit board and clean-installed the latest 4.1.2 (this is what they said). I would really appreciate if someone would come up with a possible workaround before I resort to returning it to Samsung again, because this LED notification is a crucial feature to me.
P.S.: LED was working fine in 4.1.1 before the sudden death. Phone was never rooted or modded, no backup/restore procedure was ever performed, except that built-in Google backup/restore.

[Q] Truesmart: No Sound and mic has stopped work

Hi
I've recently got one of the EU 1/8 Omate Truesmart watches. To start with it was fine, but after realizing I had missed some calls yesterday I realized that the watch made no sounds and the mic wasn't working either when I made some test phone calls. The vibrate does still work. I've changed the Modes in the Audio Profile but that doesn't seem to have made a difference.
Has anyone else had these problems?
I suspect the mic and speaker are in different parts of the watch, so I'm guessing its a software issue rather than something has shaken loose. I tried to work out how to reset the watch, but so far I haven't worked out how to do that (I haven't patched it yet, so it still has the original version of the firmware etc).
Thanks for any assistance
Somehow I managed to get the sound and mic working again . The last thing I was trying was to turn the watch off and on repeatedly, pressing or holding the two buttons down while it booted. One of the other posts suggested that I could get to a menu to reset the watch this way. Whilst I never saw a menu, on one occasion it did take longer to boot than normal (a few extra seconds) so I may have selected an option with out realising.
I've been reading here for months waiting for my TS to arrive and today it has!
I quickly found that all sound and mic was not working and my heart sank. But reading this question and the poster's own reply, and a hint from elsewhere, I turned off "fast boot" in the accessibility menu, shut down and restarted, and hey presto, sound input and output works fine. The "fast boot off" setting seems to be required in order to make the device really reboot.
Many, many thanks to all here who have been contributing to the knowledge base on this device. Hopefully I can now contribute, if only from the point of view of a non-expert man-in-the-street end user, from time to time.

turn off flash when phone is ringing?

Just got a Verizon Moto G Power the other day and I'm reasonably happy with the phone (except for the cheesy SIM card caddy that took me 20 minutes to get the SIM in correctly after I added an SD card) but it's got one issue I need to disable - phone ringer fires the camera's flash in strobe light mode and I find it a bit annoying.
You can't disable it in notifications and I even tried denying phone app access to the camera but it still lights up the room. Anybody find a non-root fix?
thanks -
edit: searching this forum didn't help and although my google-fu is pretty strong I couldn't find an answer there either.

Resolved. Used tasker to disable flash notification - this thread gave me the idea - https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/themes/tasker-profiles-to-toggle-cameras-flash-t3920973
