[Q] BAMF 1.6.2 - Missing status bar / power options - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just installed BAMF 1.6 and 1.6.2 this morning. So far, great, but there are a couple of visual elements I notice that are missing from my phone that were in the app screenshots. Namely the status bar icons for bluetooth/wifi/etc in the 2nd panel, and the non-standard power options in the 3rd panel.

On my phone that status bar area is completely blank and the power options are still the standard Power Off / Airplane / Restart
How should I go about fixing this? Thanks ahead of time!
Edit:
Come to think of it, I'm missing that BAMF button at bottom left and my notification screen isn't transparent either. Am I missing a program?

Same Here
I am having the same issues Sir! I cleared my Data/Cache/Davalik and installed Remix 1.6.2.
I would like to know whats going.

Did you do a full wipe of of the device BEFORE the install?

Did you do a full wipe BEFORE you tried installing?

OP found out his problem in another thread I believe it was because he was just installing the 1.6.2 patch instead of 1.6, then the 1.6.2 patch.

I just rooted my TB a couple days ago, Researched the ROMS available. Choose to go with Das B.A.M.F 1.6. Did a full Wipe/Cache/ ..Check all three boxes(including Backup) and installed 1.6, Then installed 1.6.2 Update. Never once did I have the options the mentioned earlier.
I verified using ROOT Explorer that there was a widget.txt under system\customize. The information is in the TXT file but it is as if the system cannot enforce the changes specified.

For anyone else that was looking like me, I found the answer to my question here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13617345&postcount=8

don't use rom manager. Flash in Recovery and you will not be missing anything. Had the same thing happen to me.

Has anyone had any battery problems since installing the new "radio" came out?

I rebooted in recovery, wiped cache, and reflashed 1.6.3 over itself without using Rom Manager and the notification controls and power functions are all there now. I've used ROM forever on my original droid and never had issues like that. Seems the BAMF stuff may not be playing nice with Rom manager.

Quite the opposite, actually, but I was on stock with the old radio too. After VZW's 4g network came back up my battery life was disastrous until flashing BAMF.

Well I thought the issues was over after the fresh clean install of 1.6.3, But now Every time i receive a call ...Call Recorder Crashes. Also I am experiencing random reboots. My battery life on the other hand has be excellent and managable.
I was on a call this evening. And it rebooted in the middle of it.
Any Ideas?

What kernel are you running? Call Recorder works with very few kernels. Adryn's and one of Imoseyon's newest kernels are the only ones I'm aware of (there might be more).

Thank you for your responses. I am only using the 4.4.7 kernel. Which come s with das bamf 1.6.3. It is this new kernel (4.4.7). I never had these issues with 1.6.2. I believe the kernel from 1.6.2 was 4.4.5
?
Is it possible to flash back to that kernel in 1.6.2 without going fully back to 1.6.2? Or will I just run into more issues...
Thank you for your time

[MORPH] AOSP Gingerbread Status Bar (Updated for Nero Beta 3) 12/15

This Metamorph changes the status bar and status icons to the new Android 2.3 Gingerbread UI. Make sure you are using the latest version of Metamorph (1.9.13 or higher). I'm not responsible for anything you do to your phone.
For some reason JK6 doesn't like morphs. To install you must morph each app separately. If MM hangs, reboot and move to the next app.
WARNING:
Make sure USB Debugging is enabled in Settings -> Applications -> Development.
If you're using the standard TouchWiz launcher, this morph will remove the Messaging icon from the bottom dock. To get it back, open your applications, press menu, view type, customizable. Menu again, then edit. Find the Messaging icon, drag it back into the dock, then menu, save, menu, view type, alphabetical grid (or whatever you had it on before.)

Unzip the file, remove everything but the signal icons, rezip, make sure it's named "Gingerbread_Morph.zip" and apply.
Is there any chance that a ASPOish pull down could be included in the future version?
Or is there a way I could possibly do this myself?

[Mod][3-13-2011]Settings (Calibration, Stay Awake, DUN)

Hey folks,
Saw enough people wanted this to happen, so I made it so. One of my few successful mod attempts
This puts back the Stay Awake option from Eclair, that Samsung was so nice to remove for us. This assumes you have the 5 lockscreen mod from sbrissen already installed. I have only tested on superclean.

I've added two more options in version 2.0, namely Dial Up Networking (I hear its all the rage for QPST users), and accelerometer calibration under Display Settings. Yeah, this is how the Fascinate works.
Try downloading a 150mb ROM, and then turning the screen off when 60MB is done downloading.
Turn the screen back on a few minutes later. Hey, look, the download's almost.... oh wait... nope. Still at 60MB. Continues to download once the screen is on.
This is INCREDIBLY annoying.
This mod helps tremendously. When my phone is plugged in, I should be able to let the screen stay on, without setting my display timeout to 10 minutes.
Saumsung sucks.
Thanks for this. I was starting to have issues with the accelerometer, out of nowhere. The phone wouldn't rotate when in landscape, or would rotate to landscape when I was in portrait, and I figured it was the accelerometer. The calibration fixed it.
Thanks for the DUN settings thing. Hopefully won't have to go back to eclair to do qpst anymore! If I need to ...again...

if I have a theme flashed, these mods will revert to stock TW theme partially...and when I flash the theme over these mods installed, the mods will disappear.
but it seems like the option choice never changed...I turned on the stay-awake option and flashed theme, but even after the mod selection disappeared, my phone stays awake while plugged in. so I guess this isn't a big deal. thanks for the mod!
Nevermind! In his infinite wisdom, Adrynalyne seems to have included this is SC2.9.2

[Q] App and Widget configurations are NOT saved - TB, ROM or OS issue?

I am having a problem with my Thunderbolt such that many times, the widget and application configurations are not saved.
For Widgets, as you can see in the screenshot, sometimes all the widget are broken and I have to re-configure everything. This include widgets that have data, such as dates. So I lost the data when this happen.

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
For applications, I don't have screenshots but the situation is that when I open the application, it reverts to default settings. Example is "Folder Organizer".
This issue happens in this situation:
- Rebooted the phone
- Cleared battery stats, dalvik or cache
- Updating 1 or 2 apps from Android Market resets ALL apps configuration.
My Thunderbolt is on DAS BAMF 1.7 with default settings from BAMF toolkit, rooted, NOT overclocked.
I have an Asus Eee Transformer that is rooted, running PRIME! 1.5 ROM and it does NOT exhibit the above problem.
So I am thinking this is either HW problem, ROM problem, or just plain Android 2.2 OS problem.
What do you guys think? Oh, does this have anything to do with the I/O Scheduler? I don't know what is this for, but when I open it from BAMF Toolkit, NONE of the selection is selected (radio button not selected).
Most common cause of this is having the launcher or those apps for which you have widgets installed to your sdcard. If they're on the sdcard the widgets are not able to load with the launcher since the sdcard hadn't mounted at that time. This also would explain the configurations not saving as some apps lose their settings if on sd.
Not sure if this is your case since I don't expect people to install much to sdcard on the Tbolt but perhaps it is. If so, move them back to internal memory. Worth mentioning either way.
Yes, I am aware of widget not working properly if installed on SD card. I actually do NOT put ANY apps in SD card. I use SD card only for music, videos, and comics...oh and photo.

But the issue happens to ALL WIDGETS, regardless of the apps, as shown in the screenshot above.
I don't install that many widgets, just apps that (I am sure) most people use, such as:

- Google Voice

- Palmary Weather
Maybe I need to re-install the ROM, but BAMF team is no longer with XDA. Any recommendation for a ROM?

Really cant think of any other way to help you short of seeing log cats from your phone boot up + all the way through everything loading in the home screen.
I use cyanogenmod 7 since it went release candidate and would never switch to anything else other than whispercore, but that's not ported to the thunderbolt or htc phones. Before that I used bamf 1.8 stripped.

dont really have any problems (just one which i solved by upping the vm heap size). lte speeds are fine assuming you dont use speedtest.net to test it. i would never go back to sense though even if something was broken, but nothing wasn't. Just do a full wipe including system and dont restore any system stuff back only apps you installed yourself. some people complain about issues, but i cant account for them. perhaps they didnt read carefully enough or they didnt do a full wipe (or fiddled with settings they shouldn't have since it's still a work in progress, just stable enough to use if you dont screw with it). basic problems can be solved if you have them by reading the solutions thread in the development section.
Does anyone do the remote rooting service like for BAMF?
at the risk of exposing my total and utter noobness, are
CM7 & BAMF the same thing? Not in features etc but as far
as replacing Sense?
Thanks

Man, I really hope not. Also noticed my gps takes a lot longer to lock. I did the radio update, and saw a HUGE difference in data speeds. One thing I noticed, looks like you flashed a custom battery percentage. I flashed an old one to just add a percentage to the existing battery meter, but it was for 2.3.3. So, when I connect my charger, the icon looks like the download icon, and when I start up gps, the icon is messed up too. Not a big deal, read about it that others had the same thing, but maybe it has something to do with it? Did you flash a 2.3.3 battery icon? (I don't know how it would effect the gmail subjects, or sd readings, but maybe??)
Yikes! That doesn't look good. I wonder if it has something to do with your battery icon since that puts a modified framework file on your phone...

Well, I have a theory. I should just be able to reflash the stock rooted rom over what I have now, and that should wipe the framework right?

WHEW!!!! Okay, after reflashing the 2.3.4., everything is back to normal. I guess it had to do with the battery icon, and messing with some frameworks. Okay, stock boring ass battery with no percentage for me.

I didnt realize this till I saw this thread and checked my gmail. I too am using battery 2.3.4 mod. Flashed rom again. Anyhow for now I'm using battery indicator app from the market til this gets fixed. I don't mind having 2 battery icons for now as long as one of them i see the percantage.
Can anyone with 2.3.4 that is still having issues that have been pinpointed on a battery mod please PM me? I fixed a user's issue in the Sensation forums, and I would like to test out a fix on someone else before I redo all the posted 2.3.4 mods that I made.
If the same fix works on someone running a different 2.3.4 ROM, then I will do the fix on all the 2.3.4 versions that are up in my thread HERE.
It would be best if you were currently experiencing the issue at the time you PM me and flash the "fixed" MOD.
Thanks.

[Q] Status Bar (notifications) missing in Gingerbread 2.3.6

Hi,
I have updated my atrix 4g to latest update.
System Version - 4.5.141.MB860.ATT.en.US
Android Version - 2.3.6
Kernel Version - 2.6.32.9
Build Number - 4.5.141
Status bar (notification) is visible and working properly after reboot.
But after some time it goes invisible. So I can not able to check any notification, battery status etc.
I tried to open the notifications by Menu->More->Notifications.
But still the same problem. I am not able to see the notification on top.
When I restart my phone it comes back.
I tried factory restore but still facing the same problem.
I'm having the same issue but I'm running a custom rom.
same problem
4.5.141.ATT
Ditto. I had an unlocked phone, and couldn't use the OTA version, so I upgraded using RSD Lite. It seemed to work fine, and my phone still shows unlocked on the home screen, though I have not rooted the phone.
In the last couple days, I spent two days at a hotel for a work event. Yesterday, after charging the Atrix overnight, the blackberry was basically out of battery after 4 hours. I took it down to my desk and recharged, but the device seemed to be staying hot, and I was worried about it. So I did a factory wipe and reloaded using Blur, then Google.
I'm missing a few apps, etc... but at first the device seemed fine. Now I realize the notification bar is missing, and I can't figure out how to bring it back. Reboots have NOT made it reappear, unlike those that report it "disappears". Mine literally will NOT come back.
Any info is appreciated. Wish I'd never gone to 2.3.6. The previous AT&T rom seemed to work fine. And while I wouldn't mind upgrading to ICS, I need a simple, documented process. I won't want to waste my weekend on figuring the whole thing out.
Double Ditto
I upgraded to 4.5.141/2.3.6 OTA. I hadn't unlocked mine previously, just rooted. I had the same issue on the stock ROM, after a reboot, I had a status bar, but after an indeterminate period of time, it would disappear. I unlocked, rerooted, and installed a custom ROM and it still has the same issue.
Any clues appreciated.
I have also have the same problem since the 2.3.6 upgrade. I tried using a custom ROM NottachTrix v1.2.9, but get the same results. I have tried using MXLauncher home replacement as well as SPB Shell. Both give the same results. Each time I reloaded my phone I did a complete wipe. The last time I even didn't restore my apps / settings from my backups just to make sure.
I am not sure if the fact that I am using a "Live" wallpaper might have anything to do with it. As it was said earlier it happens randomly, but a restart fixes the issue. It doesn't matter if I switch to Landscape or Portrait, launch another app or webtop. At least with the webtop I can see the other apps running and get notifications from the webtop bar.

Supposedly, and I also saw what happened that causes the notification bar disappear is MOTOBLUR problem in the Stock ROM this happens when you try to download or make backups of your data, which probe the solution was to create another email and MOTOBLUR this is no longer closed the notification bar, will question that you try too.
regards
I just reset my phone yesterday and have this exact issue. Came here looking for a fix and lo and behold it's the first thread.....

Disable notifications on the email app

Willy you are my savior. This seems to have fixed the issue. It has been about 17 hours and the notification bar hasn't disappeared.
Almost Same Problem
I have the same problem with the status bar, but I have a Motorola Atrix rooted.
After I actualized the rom to the RETAIL 2.3.6 this problem started.
To resolve this problem partially I created a new MotoBlur account, until now it's ok, but I don't like this solution.
I want my old account because I need and like the e-mail adress and the data.
the quick fix is to shutoff email notifications, for me it was only one account that was breaking it, but if you just go in and shut email notifications off and then reboot it should bring it back.
