I was trying to do a restore with Titanium Backup to restore apps and data and everything in the batch list is greyed out with a line through it.. what gives?? So, I am unable to restore any apps. I am using the pro version, so I don't see what I paid for.
Can someone enlighten me on this. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to download something else?
thanks.
I believe you have to install the app first, idk but i did that with skype and got my data back

Greyed out with a line through them items are the apps that are not currently installed.
If you click on them, it should give you an option to restore, providing that you have backed them up before, of course.
Also, in batch mode, you can restore them all -or chosen ones- at once.
Did you expect to just open the app and your phone go back to the way it was before?
i have the same problem
it restored just few of them automatically
i believe i have to manually install the rest and then restore just the data
but isn't that stupid?
Has anyone found a way around that?
the developer said something about fixing the market link with market doctor option, but that's in the paid version
I spoke to the dev about it actually and he said there seems to be an error with my TBU, so I need to re-install and erase the backup folder and try and backup everything again and verify. I had to redo everything manually.
Thanks for the help though guys. I appreciate it..
I actually just removed TimeScape and a bunch of other useless (to me) stock apps. I did notice as well when I clicked on a greyed-out item that I had uninstalled, there was no restore button.
So I would have to manually restore everything I had backed up, delete the folder, and reinstall?
Hardly seems worth it. I would just reflash if/when I have to restore.
Is there any way to restore all applications with "one click restore"?
I'm getting tired of pressing accept-done for every applications.

yes...buy pro version
I am moving from a TB to the GIII, and am seeing the same issue. Only my installed apps are greyed out. I've copied a new one over, put the card in the other phone backed up and no change. Pretty strange. Time for a little googling...
I've just rooted my Galaxy S2, and made a backup of all my system apps using Titanium Backup. The backup was all good and succesful, but when trying to restore a system app from backup, it just hangs on the restore dialog...going nowhere, forcing me to shutdown Titanium Backup forcefully. The very same thing is happening when trying to freeze/unfreeze apps, it just hangs...
Restoring a user app from backup works just fine though.
And yep, I have enabled USB-debugging.
Has anyone experienced the same?
Hopefully someone can cheer me up with a remedy to this problem

I already have the latest version available on Android Market.
I was thinking, what about readonly / write access to the system apps, do I need to somehow make the system space writable?
Have you switched usb debugging on?
And this thread is in the wrong place. Maybe in Q and A or in Themes and apps would be better.
Oh wait, I just reflashed with a full generic ROM, and now it seems to work, no more hanging on freeze or restore.
Perhaps Titanium Backup was released with a Samsung fix during that time? Anyways...it works now

Titanium backup deleting system files
I have somewhat of a similar problem. Whenever I want to turn a system app, into a user app, titbkup pro says it's processing, and that's it! It does that, until I have to forceclose it! It deletes the app(except the backups). I choose what I can delete very carefully, read up through various wiki"s to see if what I'm changing will have consequences. Titbkup used to do what I wanted, but just deletes my system files, instead of converting them. I have it on auto/indirect, phones rooted, superuser allows, and it's the pro version. I want to change my golauncher, into a user app again, split it up a little to take certain files to sd, and leave other files in system. I have a very low memory phone, and need all the space on in internal memory I can get.
I have no problem changing a user app into a system app, but it doesn't work in reverse, everything about the app works, except that. Can i use root explorer?
"Whenever I want to turn a system app".....is this terribly required in SGS2?
"I have a very low memory phone" ........what phone do you have, not the I9100?
this is a I9100 phone thread....
I got a bootloop on my NT after trying to eliminate the white on white menus and had to do a factory reset.
Titanium is restoring my apps but every time it comes to a data file it shows a yellow lock, says it's "armored" and requires a password to continue.
I've never used encryption and never put in a password before.
Any ideas?
Anyone? Please.
unroot and start all over?
I can't. I'm afraid if I do that I won't be able to re-install all my apps and data with Titanium, because of the problem mentioned.

well if you are trying to restore apps using TB, the backups are on your sdcard right? so even if you factory restore, the content on your sdcard won't be deleted.
I've never heard of "armored" apps in TB. Contact the developer.... or just restore the apps without the data.
I think you missed my point. I did do a factory restore and my Titanium backups were on my SD card, but the data was password protected (I never put in a password) so couldn't be restored.

Hello. I just had the same issue and found this forum on it. I had bought the pro version of Titanium Backup and forgot that I selected the option to encrypt the backup. I just had to remember my passphrase and then it unlocked it. I know it's a year later than the original post, but I didn't see any solutions, so hopefully this helps somebody in the same spot.
So i backed up all my apps to my internal SD card. i flashed a new rom, installed TB, and now it wont see my backups. I verified that its looking in the correct folder, that the files still exist, and that there are .apk.gz files in the backup folder. Still though, it wont show any apps when I try to restore all missing apps.
If i install the apks for each app though, it has no problem restoring the data for the apps. What gives?
This has happened on Touch Wiz, CM9, and AOKP.
Any help is appreciated.

I checked the location and it was already at the correct folder, but no, i didn't try hitting detect as it seemed unnecessary. I'll report back soon!

I have the exact same issue! I have tried everything and no luck. I created a similar thread and no one has any ideas why this is happening. Please let us know if you find the answer. I pretty much redownloaded all of my apps to just get it over with.
Good luck
Probably a stupid question, but after you changed the path and tripple check that it's the correct path where all your backups are, did you restarted TB/phone?
If you simply hit back button it doesn't actually quit TB.
I am having the same problem. I am noticing that tubular just isn't doing the restores correct at all. For instance I did a restore of Shadowgun and my saves weren't restored. I have never had these issues before I came to the S3

I had the same problem with Titanium Backup at first. My backups were on my external SD card straight outta my DroidX. I assumed /mnt/sdcard/TitaniumBackup would be the right location, but on the SGS3 you have to go to /mnt/extSDcard/TitaniumBackup or manually copy the folder over first. Once I fixed that path, it started restoring just fine.
If you go to the filter, and select Backed Up instead of All, do they show up then?
I had a similar issue. Try removing titanium backup from the Super user app, then run titanium backup again.

I have a similar problem with Ti backup too.
It sees zero apps.
uninstalled
reinstalled
removed from superuser
updated SU binaries
folder location is in appropriate place
even cleared cache/dalvik and fix permissions in recovery when it was uninstalled.
I redirected the the save location to my external SD card and it worked for me. It may only be seeing your internal sd card
Today, all my backups in Titanium Backup Pro vanished, but when I scan for them on my external SD, the app says there are 322 backups found and it locates the data, but it won't show up in my apps list.
Never seen this before, and I'm not sure how to resolve it. Not sure what caused, it but I'm hoping some of you might have an idea.
have you tried repointing Titanium Backup to the directory that your apps are backed up to?

would also try this first. If it not helps, try reinstall Titanium Backup (not only the pro key)
Do you have any app filters on by chance? (other than that, if you're restoring files, you can probably do a batch restore then just choose the apps)
