ATT APN
I recently came from an trip to brazil (operator TIM) where I had to change the APN to my Atrix
so when I came back I called AT&T APN settings.
The lady in the tech support didn't even know what I was talking about at frist but then I gave her exact instructions as to get there.
hope it's useful to anyone (these are the default settings, not the tether AP hack).
each "block" is a unique apn. fields not shown not set.
anyways, here it is : (*attached*)

Would this be helpful? This a backup I made for myself and posted about here: http://goo.gl/jZQeh

Usually though it's enough to just fill in the name of your provider & "Internet" in the APN, that does it in a couple of countries I tried. Maybe you can all try & report back if it worked? That'd be a dead easy solution..

Settings for GCI (Alaska)
GCI's settings can be found below (not allowed to post links yet, sorry)
Tap on Wireless Controls
Tap on Mobile Networks
Tap on Access Point Names
Press the Menu button (usually a physical button below the touchscreen)
Tap on New APN
Set the Name to: GCI Data
Set the APN to: web.gci
Set Authentication Protocol to: CHAP
Set APN Type to: default
Press the Menu button again and tap on Save
Tap on Access Point Names again (it should have taken you back out to the Mobile Networks screen after you saved)
Press the Menu button
Tap on New APN
Set the Name to: GCI MMS
Set the APN to: mms.gci
Set the Authentication Protocol to: CHAP
Set the MMSC to: //mmsc.gci.csky.us:6672
Set the MMS Proxy to: 209.4.229.92
Set the MMS Port to: 9201
Set the APN Type to: mms
you'll need to to put http: in front of set the MMSC to: because I cannot post links yet

Changed provider and data connection failed

I'm using an T-Mobile G2 Touch (branded HTC Hero from T-Mobile) in Austria. This phone is rooted and is running VillainROM 12. I also removed the sim lock with an unlock key from unlock-now.com.
This week I cancelled my contract with t-mobile and changed to a small provider named bob.at. This provider uses the network from A1, the biggest providers in Austria. So my phone always shows the "Romaing" symbol. And so I I have to enable the "Data roaming" setting in the "Mobile network settings" menu. This setting is activated on my phone!
The problem now is that I'm not able to configure the data connection with bob.at. I created the APN entry manually and I couldn't manage to connect to the network.
But on the phone this settings for bob.at exists in the file /system/etc/apns-conf.xml and so I think the connection should work without an extra manual entry.
Code:
# cat ./system/etc/apns-conf.xml | grep bob.at
<apn carrier="bob.data" apn="bob.at" proxy="" port="" user="[email protected]" password="ppp" server="http://start.bob.at" mmsc="" mmsproxy="" mmsport="" mcc="232" mnc="11" type="default"/>

I also wiped my phone completely, but this also doesn't work. This is the log output while my phone tries to connect the the network

[Q] APNs Explained Cellcom Verizon R970

I have read about 100 threads regarding APN settings and I have not been able to find my answer. Here is what I have going on.
I have a US Cellular R970 unlocked device. I'm using Cellcom Wireless as my provider. They are local to my area and have roaming agreements with Verizon. I have rooted the phone using Towelroot and have verified the phone is properly rooted. I'm using CWM 6.0.4.7 for recovery and installing custom ROMs. I have successfully installed several different ROMs on the device including Liquid Smooth, Echo ROM GS5 for GS4, and CM 11. Since there are no specific ROMs for my local provider, I have been using Verizon ROMs. Right now, I am running CM11.
All the ROMs are working properly (3g, 4G, Internet) except I can't send or receive MMSs. (gasp! we have never heard that one before...)
I retrieve the proper APN settings from a different Cellcom phone. They are listed below. The one set as default on the Cellcom phone is bolded Verizon Internet.
Here is what I have tried.
1. Manually entering the APN doesn't work. The new APN doesn't save in the APN list. It doesn't show up after a reboot.
2. Modifying an existing APN doesn't work. It will not save the changes.
3. Modifying the apns-conf.xml file in the root/system/etc folder doesn't work. I tried adding the single Verizon Internet (Bolded) to the file and it doesn't show up in the APN list on the phone. I created a new version of the apns-conf.xml file which only includes the APNs listed below and that doesn't work. The original APNs show up on the phone.
So pretty much all the other threads I have read about APN and MMS problems end up getting solved by some sort of fluke where after X number of unsuccessful tries it just starts working. Well I have tried each option the proper amount of unscientific times without success.
I'm not sure what to try next. Can anyone chime in?
EDIT: I had to change the : to COLON because new users are not allow to post links.

I tried something new.
I took the sim card out of the phone and used CWM to factory wipe, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache. I reinstalled CM11 and GApps. I rebooted the phone without the sim card. I replaced the dafault apns-conf.xml with the modified one I created which only includes the APNs used by my carrier. I shut down the phone and reinserted the sim.
The phone is behaving exactly the same as before. It using APNs that are not in the apns-conf.xml file. I switch the Mobile mode to 3G only because that works best at my current location to do more testing.
I repeated the exact same steps again this time leaving the sim card in. The phone is behaving the exact same way but I noticed that it retained the 3G mobile mode setting. I don't understand how this is possible. I wiped everything that could be wiped. I did a fresh install of CM11. I didn't login into google so there would be no way any settings would have carried over.
Does anyone really understand how these APNs work? Obviously there is a disconnect between the apns-conf.xml file I am working with and the ones the phone is actually using.
One thing I learned about this carrier is that in order to receive mms on their branded phone you must first send a mms from the phone after activation. I'm not sure if other carriers require that.
Limited Succes

Sorry for the bump, but I too am using Cellcom and as of recently installed a nightly of AOSPA and CM12 (both 5.1) on an HTC One M8 and actually had limited success setting the Verizon CBS and Verizon internet APNs to have the http//mms.cellcom.com:9201/mms.php rather than adding seperate APN entries. I did this all right thru the Mobile Network > APNS (not even going thru the framework-res, or the /system/etc/apns.xml). The only kicker is that I was only able to send sms out over 3g, but MMS worked over 3g and LTE. I think this has something to do with VoLTE and the available ROMs don't recognize Cellcom as being a VoLTE provider, so the sms doesn't send out over LTE.

I have successfully installed on my unlocked SM-900V and I can begin the setup after rebooting, but it will always lock up at a different point. However, if I remove the SIM card, it does not lock up, and I can perform normal wireless activities. For some reason though, it is not working happily with my SIM. I have tried numerous times, wiping entirely, with and without SD Card, etc, but it still always locks up. With the SIM in, it says Verizon Wireless as it should.

This screenshot does not show any custom settings. I'm having the same issue of no mobile data. I'm on Verizon and used the latest Emasry266 V4 and selected the N900V variant when installing.

I understand the APN Settings are what need modified, however the screenshot provided doesn't show these details is what I'm trying to say.

I honestly have no clue where I'm going wrong but I've tried a couple APN's and nothing seems to work properly. I even tried googling it and trying a couple APNs others posted for Verizon. I'm making sure to follow all directions when installing but my connection problem persists no matter what.

I am attempting to move from Verizon to Visible (a Verizon subsidiary). My IMEI did not check as compatible with Visible and this is what the level three rep replied with:
"I did some digging and it looks like we have compatibility with*most*Galaxy S9+s. I double checked your IMEI and it is not compatible due to the carrier firmware package on that particular SKU, apologies about that!"

[1] What is the suggested solution to change to a carrier firmware package that will work?
[2] Will it require to setup the phone again?
[3] Will Samsung Pay / Secure Folder still work?
Thanks

UPDATE: I have data and mobile hotspot working with my S9+, but still no phone calls or texts. Keep that in mind if you need an unlimited device for data.

[1a] I believe you change this with Odin?
[1b] The Samsung Unlocked version does not work with Visible.

Typically you can only run 1 APN at a time. So which one should I run?

Look at the "type" of each APN. You are not duplicating the type on the multiple Visible APNs.
My phone would get on the internet and browse with VSBLINTERNET but would not call or text until I added the VSBLIMS (IMS registration). MMS did not work until I added VSBLAPP. You can add however many APNs you want as-long-as the "type" is not duplicated. I'm not sure what VSBLADMIN does but the phone started showing the IP as from Visible instead of from Verizon after I did that.
