Com rom and mms - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ever Since I have been using community rom I have not been able to send mms messages, I receive them just fine. It just says sending at the bottom but never sends. I even just had to odin back to dl09 and re update everything to fix an acore process crash. everything works great except mms. Anyone else experiencing this out know a possible solution? Been kicking my self in the teeth these last few weeks trying to trouble shoot this and can't figure it out

Someone had to have at least had the same issue I'm sure right?

MMS doesn't work in the Community Rom, at least not with the included messaging apk.
But in the post for the Comm ROM under patches they have the "Samsung MMS" patch which makes the mms work fine.
At least that was my expierence, it fixed my MMS problems (same as you described).

Awesome, thank you for your insight and response

Help, XDA app crashes

Hello, I use the XDA app a lot and it always crashes when I post something, are the devs working on this? I am on a Samsung Vibrant, stock 2.1 w/ root and OCLF, thanks!

You should ask the devs, not us. It's a limited version of the Tapatalk app I believe. Try asking them. The full Tapatalk used to do that, the message would get posted, but it would FC on you. It's fixed now, but they might not have updated the XDA version.
If you are in an area where you are getting spotty 3g service, the app tends to crash when you move to a new topic. When you post, the app give a force close message, but doesn't completely shut down. The post does go through, but this is an annoyance. Don't know if anything is being done about that.
I will try with the official tapatalk app, also I am using wifi and it still crashes....

SMS App with Sent time + Recieved time

So I've been stuck on MIUI for a while now because the stock SMS app shows both the sent time and received time if we hold down on the message and choose view message details. I have network issues in my area so most of the time I receive some messages late from my friends so I need the sent time to check exactly how late I got the message. I really want to switch away from MIUI because I really love the stock feel of CM7 or stock Samsung roms. I've used the show sent time mods for stock Samsung roms but the issue with that is when I finally receive the message, it appears above even messages that I sent after it so everything becomes mixed up and hard to understand. So does anyone have a solution like the MIUI sms app?

Contacts not opening

I have the galaxy S2 but, it's the SCH-R760. What happens is when I tap the contacts app my screen goes black, then pops up the message android process acore has stopped working. My phone is rooted. It's been rooted for a few months now, and this issue just started last week. Anybody have any ideas on the problem, and a fix?

Did you flash a ROM? Or tried flashing one and coming back to stock?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
I have not flashed since there is no recovery that I can find for my phone. So I wouldn't know how without that.

I had skype installed, and once I removed it my contacts work again. Why would skype cause that problem?

As Skype does request to access your contact list it is proably related to that.
You might have to try setting your contacts as a default.
I noticed in the past that sometimes it would ask me if I wanted to call contacts using Skype or Phone so my assumption is that somthing with the defaults is causing it to check Skype but it is also causing it to crash
So you're guess is the default contact app got changed to skype right? That makes sense. Whenever I dailed out it asked if I wanted to use skype or the dailer. Thanks

This happened to me once. I had no choice but to delete contacts data from settings and then restore from old backups....
Everything was OK then.

I've deleted skype and all us right in the world again.
