Is this built off of KE8?
Thank's codeworkx and koush
I'm newbie.
I have Litening v1.3 rom installed with CF-root 3.7 KE8 based and clockworkmod recovery 3.0.0.5 installed.
Could i update to this recovery ??
thank you...
Amazing!
How does this compare to CF-Root? is it just the new recovery?
Fantastic
With AngeloM 1.7 rom I've got wifi error:/
WoW .. great work codeworkx ... waiting for CM7 to see the light on SGS2
If you're running a custom rom or CF-Root, i wouldn't recommend to flash this.

Sorry, i've seen is to late. Will have a look at.
So what is the differences/benefits of this compared with CF-ROOT which has clockworkmod ?

Thank you codeworkx OT:any progress with CM7?
Yeah custom ROM's crash the Wifi, not sure what else ...
CWM Recovery 4.0.0.1 is nice, but you select the menu items using the power button, not the home button. The home button moves you up the menu list.
Navigation with the volume is as standard.
Can we flash ROMs and kernels from CWM4?
I guess that a custom rom will flash whatever Recovery is built in.
I've chainfire cfroot ...
if I want try this version of CWM, need to install also the initramfs template ?
or, it is for developer ?
it's no clear for me ...
tks
EDIT :
don't see codeworkx reply.
sorry
CWM recovery is already at 4.0.0.2

Where ??
bye
As far as I understand, this is just basic groundwork for eventual Cyanogenmod support inside the kernel... Meaning custom kernels will have to incorporate these changes to be supported by CM7 (CF-Root for example)...
Correct me if I'm wrong?
updated, works now

to get some of these mods available on most roms (i.e. native screen capture) do we have to flash a rom? i mean, can somebody just upload a flashable mod instead a full rom? kinda holding out for that special one

Does anyone have instructions or an apk or something in order for me to get the 4-1 boot MOD?? I am on stock deodexed ROM. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I'm on the same ROM and I wasn't able to find any instructions so I just grabbed android.policy.jar from a ROM that had it working. I would still like to know how to do it myself though.

Thanks a lot, but I already have the hotspot hack on my phone. I was wanting the 4 in 1 boot thing. Like when I press the power button I get more than 3 options. And then when I want to restart it gives me the option to restart normally, reboot, recovery, and/or bootlaoder.
Also I know you are the guru...... Could you or have you already made a how to add 5mb for mms??? Ive also been trying to attempt this with my ROM as well but its not been looking good.
Steel...Thanks for the hotspot instructions. I am on Stock Deodexed using your framework.jar because I didn't know how to do this myself, appreciate! Thanks for all of your hard work, glad to see you're still here man!
Love this mod thanks

Fixes-The wifi should be fixed and the capacative buttons all should work.

thanks to bmarko... he did all the work for the og galaxy s2
How to flash- Go into recovery, backup, wipe everything, and flash this... there is no need to flash any modems or kernels as it flashes only the kernel and keeps your modem the same... Please post any feedback
Hey... To fix wifi... You should unzip the file and drag all the files from system/ect/wifi in the stock rom into the miui rom... And then in system/lib there should be 2 files that start with libnet***.so replace those 2... Or i think flashing the kernel from cm7 will fix it too... Tell me if those work
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
And also this may work to fix the keymapping issues, in system/usr there are 2 folders keychars and keylayout... Replace those from cm7 and it should be good... But backup just incase

When you made the new zip did you put it to store? If it compress the files the rom zip may not work

I extracted the MiUI rom and CM7 roms to 2 different folder with 7zip.
I then coped and over wrote teh two folders mentioned above for key mapping.
Then rezip with 7zip and picked "store" as the compression level
Sound right?

I did the same thing a few days ago. Or, you can just download the Rom from rom manager... everything will work except phone calls... Lol. You can make them through Skype on WiFi though.... just don't flash the modem.

I tried fixing the button mapping and could never get it working. It seems if I got the home button working the back button would stop. I never had luck getting the wifi working either.
I really have no idea what I'm doing though. I did get the zips to flash late last nigh.
So I am still using MiUi + ATT Kernel and Radio and it is rock solid so far. I still don't have home key but I can survive for now. Also WiFi doesn't work and if you try to turn it on it will soft reset every 10 seconds.

Hi Here is a Odin flashable system.img.ext4, it is based on the AT&T Galaxy Note Stock rom. There is not a kernel included with the rom, I would suggest flashing either the rooted stock kernel from Da_G or even better flash his super awesome overclocked kernel. For now, there is only an AT&T version....I need some system dumps from the Rogers and Telus versions in order to make roms for them. If you have one of these phones and are willing to help out send me a pm. If you would like to test my beta versions, come on over to IRC and hang out with Da_G and I there will be plenty of stuff to test.

--added sysro and sysrw to /system/xbin/
--enabled tether

How To Install With Odin:
First...use winrar to unzip the .7zip rom file, inside you will find a pda-xxx.tar file
Da_G said:
You may need the USB Drivers available here. (Support & Downloads for SGH-I717)
Once the USB Drivers are installed, power off the phone, then hold volume down and power it on, you'll get a screen asking you to hit vol up to continue, do so. This puts the phone in download mode.
Stick the provided pda-xxx.tar in the PDA box of Odin3 1.85, flash away!
Note that this will increase your flash counter, which is presumably used by Samsung as a reason to decline warranty service (not aware of any reports of this occuring yet...?)

Yes, it does mean you don't have to push the libraries OC at 1.83 should be stable for most everyone and have pretty decent battery life. Let me know if the tar flashes ok with Odin, I am on linux and can't test it myself.

In post one I suggest you do a factory reset after flashing, that will wipe all of your internal data. You do not have to do a factory reset after flash, but if you don't do one I you may have bugs and no support from me
Working great so far, will report back with any results after tonight with it! Thanks TPC!

Extract "TPC_Note_Att_v1.7z" using a program like winrar.
Out comes a file that should be named "pda-odin-system.tar" that is 790 megabytes.
Put it in the PDA section then flash away.
Reboot should take a little longer than normal, be patient. Then do a factory reset in Settings -> Privacy
does it increase the flash counter though ?
Anyone want to post some results?
Will DL and give it a run in a few hours. Great to see Roms popping up already
