Devoid restore question.. - Optimus One, P500, V General

hi everyone I've come up for more suggestions.
i had rooted 2.2.2 stock ROM.
i made titanium backup.
now I'm on devoid with the latest kernel and appd2sd flashed.
can i restore titanium backup of default on devoid???
if yes would that backup go to the phone memory or due to apps2sd to ext partition.
would it be harmful to restore backup of 2.2.2 to 2.2 ROM??

It will go back to sd card

Switching Roms

Hey guys ive installed VillainRom 5.5.0 a little while ago and was looking to change to the new 6.1.0 However im not quite sure which steps i need to follow.
I used this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645253
Do i just start from the second section? or do i need to load the recover rom etc.
Another thing i wanted to ask was ive done a full titanium backup (apps and settings one aswell as just apps one). If i download titanium again and go to restore it on a different Rom i shouldnt have any problems right? And i assume i should only restore the apps not the apps and settings?
Also i have apps2sd installed. Before restoring should i make sure the sd card has the ext2 partition before restoring from Titanium?
Final question is that ive done a nandroid backup with ext, but this is only useful if i want to revert to 5.5.0 right?
In summation:
1) From the guide where do i start to install a new Rom seeing as ive already rooted
2) Which Titanium backup do i restore? apps and settings? or just apps?
3) make sure after doing a full wipe and installing the new Rom that i have the right ext2 partition on my sd card before restoring from Titanium to make sure everything goes back to the sd card because of apps2sd?
4) Nandroid backup is only needed if i want to revert back to 5.5.0 and keep all my settings?
Thanks guys

No need to Do recovery stuffagain. Just put the ROM file onto the sdcard main folder and boot to recovery to flash it (remember your wipes)
You can restore the titanium backup with settings fine afaik
If you have ext partition already, it won't disappear or change, so you are fine
Always nandroid before flashing, but you are correct about what it does
OK thanks. 6.1.0 here i come i hope

[Q] how to backup ext2 partition

hey i am on stock rom 2.2 and my all apps are in ext2 partition and i want to upgrade my rom to 2.3 so how i am backup all my apps and restore all my apps when i upgrade to 2.3.
sorry for bad english
download titanium backup and use it to back up all user apps (don't bother backing up system apps/data as this can potentially cause issues with the new rom)
then before flashing your rom don't forget to do a nandroid backup in the recovery and after flashing the rom and getting gapps set up go to the market, download titanium backup then you can begin restoring your apps

[Q] CWM does it restore everything?

Hello
Here is my story
I was trying to upgrade to ICS by flashing the latest stock ROM XXLPS that I got from Samfirmware.
1- on the first try I did not perform a full wipe, the ROM was a no wipe ROM so It upgraded and all my apps are kept there,. after a while I start facing errors and restarts so I fall back
2- on the second try I flashed the ROM then I did a full wipe/factory reset. It was working well until I rooted it using CF-root and started to restore my apps using TB. I noticed that the problems are coming from Apps installed on external SD, sometimes it was unmounted automatically
Anyway I did a fall back using a CWM restore, I noticed after restore that CSC and baseband are still the ICS ones ? I thought that CWM backup and restore everything??!!
I have also had the same experience once....
when we select advance restore we can find these:
1) Restore Boot (which include boot image and Kernel)
2) Restore System (complete system files)
3) Restore Data (user data like apps and user data etc..)
4) Restore Cache
5) Restore Sd-ext (if we set a partition for applications in the externel SD card)
Unless the CSC is already integreted in system (2nd item) I believe these 2 items, especially baseband, are not backed up normally from CWM, otherwise there should be a restoring option too .....
Especially if you go from one generation to another (Gingerbread to Icecream e.g.) its more complicated to go back a step. You should flash a base Gingerbread ROM from samfirmware e.g. with ODIN (not a CWM version) and then try to restore your Gingerbread backup.
After you flashed the base you may change CSC before you restore your backup. This is the cleanest way to get back.
CWM nandroid is not what we know as a real image backup of a PC.
Thanks guys for the clarifications
BTW regarding the upgrade to ICS what is the best option to do it and restore back the apps or keep them ?

This you have to do with Titanium back up not with CWM back-up...with Titanium Backup pro you can restore applications from nandroid (CWM) backup.
there should not be any problem while you restore only apps on the ICS, some may not work, just unsinstall such...better you select it individually and install... but dont attempt for any system data restore....
This is exactly what I have done, i tried to restore using TB but from backup taken by TB and not from Nandroid.
It was working fine but later start to hang and restart. I noticed that the issue is coming from applications installed on external SD? Is there any issue with ICS or CF-root kernel and external SD card?

try moving all apps from ext sdcard to phone for a while and check for any issues like hang or restart
I found an open issue related to crash and reboots when a large number of apps are installed on sd card.

How to restore apps and data.

I just flashed cm7 2.2.1 and im wondering how to restore my apps back to my phone? or isnt it possible? my sd card has alot of space like 1.4gb before i flashed the rom, and now i almost have full space and im thinking of deleting them and start to a new one if restoring isnt possible, if i delete those things on my SD card, will there be a problem on my phone?
if you have a previous CWM backup from your early version of miniCM7 2.2.0 , you can restore your data, just reboot into recovery, select backup and restore, select advance restore, select your backup, and then select data.img, but make a backup of your miniCM 2.2.1 first
Titanium Backup could be a great tool aside from the one option mention earlier. you can even select what apps to do back up and restore.

[Q] Does Nandroid backup restore modem?

Hi everyone,Before Installing WanamLite V6.0 I made a Nandroid backup. Now I want to revert to stock ROM which is the Nandroid backup I made, but wanted to know, does Nandroid Backup Also Restore MODEM? Cause I don't want modem to be restored.
Thanks in advance! :fingers-crossed:
A standard Nandroid does not.
CWM does not backup or restore the modem.
Not too sure about other recoveries though....
I'm using Official CWM 6.0.3.1! And what about folders on the internal SDCard? Cause WanamLiteV6 is Android 4.2.2 and messed up Internal SDCard with emulated/0 folder...
you should be ok.
sdcard/0 might still exist after you've restored but can be deleted....
Will try to restore then, will let you know
If you face problems going back to your nandroid try using philz recovery and completely wiping the phone before you restore. It should get rid of everything.
