Rom porting information - Android

Hi! I would like to learn something about rom porting. Anyone has any diagram or something like this with files which are responsible for each hardware like wifi, gsm, rotate sensor etc?
And anyone know how to turn off strict mode indicator in Dev Tools/Development settings/ without using Dev Tools app?

MODs?

I'm wondering if there's anybody who's able to tell me if it's possible to get some of the more common MODs from Android ROMs onto our Tablet S? I'm thinking things like advanced power menu (reboot, airplane mode etc), 1%/circle battery, these sorts of things.
Any ideas?

Problem, You need to modify the framework-res.apk with images and codes but Original ICS is not rootable at all with kernel 10 in the way
Sent from my Sony Tablet S using xda premium
The other problem with extensive framework changes (which is all you need for many of those GUI mods) is that every device behaves differently. Unfortunately, since the Sony is an unpredictable device with a unique ROM, a locked bootloader and a tendency to boot loop when messed with wrong, the common trial-and-error approach to framework modding becomes difficult. I, for one, have been very nervous about porting my themes and mods to the Sony because I don't want to risk bricking my device. If anyone is sufficiently ballsy and wants to try, hit me up. I might be able to whip a couple of minor mods up without much trouble.

Ongoing WiFi Notification

I know many of the ROM guys have disabled ongoing WiFi notifications in their custom builds. Does anyone here have the information on how to disable on the stock ROM?
I've tried the SQL fix and it didn't seem to work (I may be doing it wrong). I saw a note somewhere that you may have to remove some other files to kill them, but I didn't want to break other aspects of the phone just to get the bar removed.
Thanks guys,
Ben

[Q] Is a one app ROM possible?

Hello, for a project I am making an android coffee table and for some various reasons I need to somehow make a ROM that has everything stripped awa,y Bluetooth, WiFi, etc. All I want is fast audio processing and the app usbEffects from the play store. So basically it would boot up directly to us effects and have no options, no settings, no notification tray or nav bar, no launcher, etc. Nothing but that one app.Is this possible? Thanks in advance.

I believe you are supposed to use something other than the new thread button for project based posts.

I'm sorry if this was the wrong section. Where do you recommend I post this?

Building on custom Roms.

Hey guys, sorry if the wrong area or its already been covered and can you please point me in the right direction. I do not want to make a custom and claim it's mine if that's what your worried about. I am a flash-aholic due to every rom I try has features I like but it's missing something I want. Like center clock, battery %. Wake lock blocker, and the option to make everything black. And hoping to build off cm or maybe paranoid android and add the 4 things I mentioned. I have some basic understand of Android kitchen. But do not know how to use apk tool. And how you would even begin to these things. But thanks in advance

How to increase the opacity of the onscreen buttons?

Hi there,
I'm new to XDA so I apologize if I am posting this on the incorrect forum.
I have Oppo F1 Plus (in some region it is know as R9) rooted and running on Color OS V3.0.0i Android 5.1 lollipop.
Using the code qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 (which pre-existed in the buildprop) I enabled myself the onscreen buttons.
Using root browser I turned off my recent and back hardware buttons and 'keyboard backlight controller' app to turnoff the backlight.
However, the onscreen buttons' opacity is way too low. I would assume around 15-20%. I tried using various apps like 'navbar app' and 'softkeyz' but both failed me.
Is there anyway to increase the opacity of the onscreen buttons to max using buildprop or root browser or any other method?
Thank you.
Im sorry to say but there isnt.
By default the On screen button should completely be opaque completely.
Try Downloading any theme for theme engine if possible.

Oppo has a pretty close OS and there is little to none development for this device.
I really want to change the notification panel and onscreen button color. but none of the apps are working.
I think the root cause for your problem is the Color OS
Due to high modding , The Framework has been completely modified and because of the fact you dont need a on screen button , they must have left it as it is.
So to fix this , you have two options:
i)Mod Stock rom by yourself
This is a difficult to do process because you have to deodex your stock rom and then you have to decompile and recompile your framework-res.apk
ii)Try Cyanogen 12.1
Cyanogen is an Open Source Android OS which is the most used Custom Rom.
Cyanogen is Completely debloated and provides you high customization

Thanks for replying,
you are right about the framework, since my onscreen buttons do not recognize landscape mode and keyboard.
I know about custom roms, however with this build of cm12.1, I would to lose my sim calling capabilities. I guess next time I will buy a phone after researching on its support in XDA.
Thanks!

You're welcome
I suggest you to buy phones with Purely Stock Android with No or less modding.
Mostly they have the highest support from Devs
And yeah , Avoid Mediatek as much as you can.
They dont provide source codes and it is because of that there is no Dev for Mediatek.
Cheers
