The one HD2 i have is running hyperdroid GBXV12, which i like very much. but finally i found out that this was an easy job.
Now there's a new job, i'd like to do the same to another HD2, but this time i'd like to have a backup, which would recover the HD2 as it was before, because the guy, who's the owner says, there are oh so special things on it... Is it possible to do that?

Not clear what you want to back up.
You can use PIM back up to back up your sms and contact but not the file in sd.
Or else, you can use Window live to back up (include internet bookmark) and file in the sd.

Hello!
I just installed the WM6 HTC version, and It's great.
The only problem, so far, is that I can't save PIM information at all (tasks, apps and contacts).
Does anyone has the same problem?
Please Help!!!!
Best regards,
Deiota
Hello
Save PIM information?
Like whath? I don't understand.
I use PPCPimBackup.
Regards
Celtibero
What I mean is when I create a new task, for instance and add data, at the end we save it, right? I can't save.So I cant add new apps, tasks and contacts.
Best regards,
Deiota
DO NOT RESTORE YOUR OLD PIN DATA WITH ANY BACKUP SOFTWARE
hard reset your device and sync it with outlook to restore your old pim data...

What a stupid answer. If you do that every time you have a problem with pim, well don't play with a pocket pc, just buy a nokia.
No the real answer is, rename the pim.vol to whatever you want and make a soft reset. After the reset you will see that a new pim.vol has been created.
Try then to create a contact, task, appointment via the standard applications.
Cheers,
Fred
Just solved it!
Hard reset and then restored the data from Outlook.
But now on, I use PPCPIMBackup just in case!
I posted it here because there could be a problem with this ROM, but is not! Just had my backup pim.vol corrupted!
Can close the topic if you want!
Thanks

I received your delicious answer by mail, no need to change the contents. Well I didn't want to insult you, but your answer is typically the kind I don't like. It's like willing to kill a mosquito with an atomic bomb.
I play often with pim.vol and different OS, to know how it works. It is true that the version of the aku can affect the pim.vol, and that's why sometimes putting back a pim.vol from a previous version simply doesn't work. But as I said, just rename the file, and you will see that the system will regenerate a new one.
And another thing, show me a rom that contains a predefined pim.vol before being flashed, because i never saw one!
Cheers,
Fred

hey Fred i said sorry....
i must admit,i did not read your response in full and vented some of my anger on you....
AGAIN I OFFER YOU MY UNCONDITIONAL APOLOGY...
YOU ARE RIGHT....there is no need to hard reset just deleting the pim.vol file would work...
so am i forgiven ????
Here I go again with my upgrading issues. I recently upgraded my ROM to PK Black thanks to olipro unlocker, the whole athena project, HeartofDarkness, and ITXDA. THANKS FOR A GREAT ROM and all your help.
My new issue......I need a voice dialer that works. The dialer that was in the shipped ROM of my 7501 was great. Is there a place that I can get thdialer in CAB to re-install to my device? I am currently using VOICE_Tri. It does work but only when the phone is actively on/unlocked. So if my phone is in my pocket and or locked, I cannot dial. The original dialer worked when my phone was locked or not near me. I really want this back. Can anyone suggest a dialer that works that I don't have to buy? Can I strip it from the HTC ROM?
Thanks in advance.

Try this! You might have to purchase this one though!
You're welcome, really.
Do you remember what you used prior to upgrading ?
Heavyweights are:
- Microsoft Voice Command (doesn't need training);
- Cyberon Voice Dial (requires tagging).
Both are commercial products, but since you rightfully own a device that was provided with either, there shouldn't be much problems if you did bit of searching on the forum or googling and found workable archives...

The voice dialer I was using previously was included in the shipped firmware on my 7501. I have no idea who made it or if it was simply part of the ROM. I did try the one offered on mahmood's site and it seems to be working well enough for now. I will use this latest one until I find another. I did have Microsoft's version when I had other devices but I often had trouble using it with a BT device. There was one that I read about that announces your incoming calls and other little neat things, but with all my reading, I forgot its name. So, long story short, I am ok for now, but still always on the prowl for biger, better, faster, smarter, easier etc.
So keep me in mind if something surfaces that is a dowlaoad (pref. free) that I can try.
BTW, do you know how to get PocketCM off of my device?

Looks like it would one to try, but do you know if it is unistallable once it's on. I still trying to get Pocket CM out of my device.
you might have to use a registry delete on that one. some how it installed in your registry...thats why you cant easily remove it. try resco registry. you should be able get in and delete it with that software.
BTW...that link to that Voice dialer...yes it removes once you go into settings and Remove Programs. I dont think however, that it gives you the option to save your settings. But who cares.... Good Luck buddy!

I have never used a registry editor. How does it work? What do I do?
Hi, I have a htc touch as well and really liked the 6.1 Professional that Erofich bought to us... so I managed to make my StarTrek look really cool.. wanted to share these few things to people who use it..
1st is a black Vista theme.. just copy it and paste it in your phone's /windows folder and change it from the today settings..
2nd is my fav.. its called dcinobar.. which remove the bottom bar from the home screen in your 6.1... and that make's your wallpaper look really cool..
and 3rd is something that made me think to add this thread.. its to hide the sim contacts..
hmmmm
4th one which i am testing right now us called HTC X button.. whcih close's a windows rather then minimizing it
Edit:
thank you for pointing that out lewnetoons.. i have updated it with Tom_fix_WM5 Storage and have also tested it..and its working fine.. and some thing else I tried out was the SPB mobile sheel 2 that i am using in my touch.. its working great.... and to be honest.. much faster then the touch.. .. the link to download that is http://flmsdown.net/software/24298-spb-mobile-shell-v2.0.0-build-3275.html
i would also be editing more things as i use it....
incase you found anything here useful.. the complete credit goes to Erofich.. i just had these file's in my hard drive.. i hope Erofich know's that he did a major thing for the StarTrek.. anyways the list of 6.1 expansion is endless.. i am also using fring right now.. which is a VOIP software from fring.com... try it out..
took a small video showing off SPB mobile shell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jaQO6EZL80
wm5storage doesnt work on 6.1 for me.
wm6.1 pro
you need to be using the pro version, works fine for me
Hi,
thank you for the vista theme, its really beautiful!

Thank you sapphire_pro.. please dont limit your self.. you could add more by going to http://www.modaco.com/index.php?automodule=downloads&showcat=35
and many more as this.. do search around.. am sure you would find a million themes..
Dcinobar
dcinobar doesnt install on my smartphone...it says that the program is not intended for this device....i have a smartflip runing erofichs wm 6.1 does anyone have dcinobar that works for this?
im not sure if it will work on a startrek, as i have a hermes, just thought id let you know that if you install
HTC Task Manager
then you get the additional functionality of XButton too aswell as the taskmanager
But its posted in the startrek forum....so i thought it would be meant for it.. any alternative program that has same function as dcinobar?
i was referring to HTC Task manager as stated in my post
i dont own a star trek but thought you all might benefit from it rather than using X Button..
however the thread poster does own a startrek, and the dcinobar application works for him, so id suggest just wait until he can support you with it.
Read the first post carefully - its for Wm6.1 Professional, NOT Standard!
kind of my miss there mickeyt500 ...i have updated it.. anyways do try out the 6.1 pro version.. its worth it.. i am loading it on my 2nd StarTrek right now..
@sujahat
Could you tell me whether the Wisbar Application is Freeware or not?
Were can I get it?
wisbar is worth around $10http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/products/pocketpc/WisBarAdvance/
however i got mine off rapidshare by searching...
I installed numerous versions of the HTC Home and no matter what i do it does not show on the Today screen.

run SoftSPL
thanks Erofich ! I use your RUU_STAR100_WM61PRO_V2 exe file, do I run softSPL first and then the intire exe file or do I need to run them all individually?
great rom work by the way!
Hi all,
since I was really missing the "click" Solitare on my HD2, I decided to extract this version from the one ROM I knew it from and made a cab.
The only difference with this version (of course its still MS solitare) was, that one could press on 1 stack and then onto the destiny-stack and it would go over - in oposition to dragging it over. I loved this change in the layout and just didnt want to live without it
Hope this helps someone at all ...
mods: if this file is somehow against the rules since i did not make it myself (i do not take credit for this solitare, only for the cab made) then please remove it. thanks
I've been looking for something like this for a long time. Thanks for the post.
Thank you for posting, this is really better than the original one on my i780

Where is it installed

it overwrites the existing solitare.exe in /Windows
if you want the old one back, please backup first or i can make a cab with the drag-version too
Pretty slick. I like it. Makes it easier to use with one hand and while out and about.
I want programe Field Test for HTC HD2
