[Q] Any idea why my apps close so slowly ? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i've had my SGS2 for less than a week and all of a sudden, my apps take 4-5 seconds to close.
the rest of the phone is still as speedy as ever - apps open instantly but every app takes 4-5 seconds to close.
other than that the phone is working as normal.
any ideas ?
thanks in advance ...

Acro S screen doesn't open some times

Hi,
I have Xperia Acro S for a week now.
The mobile is generally great.
I just have some symptom which makes me a bit worried.
The story is like this; the phone is locked, I press the power button to open the screen.... normally it works as it should be.... but some times the screen just shows a fade light and nothing appears on the screen except this fade light. I press the power button again, the fade light disappears, then I press the power button again, the screen opens normally... it works fine after then.
Did it happen to anyone? is there a fix?
Thanks alot,
Gano
I mean it doesnt wake up ... just fade light.... but it works after then with the 2nd trial.
sorry for posting several times... just for clarification .... it is like waking up the phone from the standby mode... the backlight works as well as the buttons (settings, home, back) light up.... i push the power button again... the lights disappear and the phone goes to standby mode again... i press the power button once again... the screen responds normally.
Thanks,
any idea ?
Im also experiencing the same issue recently. Ever since the latest update. 2.45.
I think that the homescreen app crashes resulting in that.
So far i havent found any solution yet.
It occurs occasionally to me. Probably once a day.

Same here, it's like the phone is turned off. It wont react for about 30 seconds. If I have a notification, the light will blink and the screen wont turn on, so I know the phone is "working". It's been like this since the last update, never had this before.

Hmm.. Looks like it is a global issue.. Hope it will get solved in the next update..
Thanks alot

I have seen this too occasionally, I think it's usually when I press the power button to sleep phone while an app (browser, facebook, etc) was trying to load data from net. Then when I immediately press again to wake it, the screen does not respond until another try.
Not sure is this bug of latest firmware as I had not spent much time on the old one. But the new firmware definitely heats up more and often even if just doing simple browsing more than old one. Battery seems not so good also. Hope this gets fixed soon.

[Q] Edge screen delay

Hi guys, I need some help.
When I swipe the edge screen to see the clock and notifications, it shows after a 4 to 5 second delay.
I think it is after I updated to 5.1.1
So I tried to Factory Reset my phone, it did the trick but now it's delayed again. Are there any solutions to this?
I got that too but it's normal i think, it will not show instantly at least it never did for me even after clean install etc

Is it normal if it takes up to 5 seconds to show?
Mine always took like 3-5 sec delay... I wish it was instant. Does anyone else have it instant??
This also has delay. I dont think it was ever instant OP:

It takes around 2 seconds or 1 Mississippi for me. I'm on 5.1.1

Camera app lags a lot

This is an unmodded phone, just to start off quickly. I take pretty good care of my phone. However, the camera app on this is super slow and frustrating.
When I activate the camera from sleep mode either by double tapping the volume key or use the lock screen camera icon, the app launches, but it takes anywhere from 10 - 15 seconds for the shutter button to be active and start taking photos. This is in all auto and manual modes.
I've missed a lot of moments that I couldn't capture, because I'm waiting for the app to do whatever it's doing and then start working. But even after the button is active, I press it and it stalls and then takes the photo. I've tried rebooting and even go through my phone for running apps that could possibly slow it down, but I just get general push notifications and emails. No heavy apps running in the background.
Any ideas how to get around, or resolve this issue?
Thank you.
Have the exact same issue. Rebooting helps a LITTLE but often still 5-10 seconds of lag, which can result in completely missing the shot. Searched around a bit, no one seems to have a solution for it that I can tell.
So annoying! I'm going to write to LG about it, because it's BS that they don't fix this software issue, and I shouldn't have to buy a new phone for a camera app.

Slow response, lag and freeze

I know the topic of lag and freeze has been covered but I haven't seen anyone will my exact problem.
Since I've had my 9+ every 2-4 days I start to get a slowness, lag and freezing. It gets to a point where I will press a button and it doesn't respond for five seconds, then pretty much freezes up all together.
When this happens I hit the recent button and close all apps. This doesn't help. The ONLY thing that 'fixes" it is restarting my phone and I am good again for another 2-4 days and then the cycle repeats.. I'd rather not
have to restart my phone every 2-4 days.
I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem or if there is an app or setting I can tweek. I've already adjusted the transition animation scale to 0.5 and even turned it off all together which hasn't helped at all.
Any help is appreciated.
