I'm having trouble with the Software Update feature and could use some assistance. I know there isn't a software update available for the Galaxy S II yet but I used to be able to go into the Settings menu ----> About phone ----> Software update ----> Check for update but now I get an error message ''Samsung Account Already added in account manager''. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

I have the same problem and when I go into Settings "accounts and sync", I don't see my Samsung account.
When I try to add a Samsung account , I am receiving the message "Samsung Account Already added in account manager''.
How can I delete my Samsung account?
Daniel
*Sorry for thread hijack*
Is this Software Update tool used for firmware updates through wifi/internet? Because it says no updates found (and yet there have been 3 firmware updates so far).
If not used for firmware, what does it update then?
I have found a solution: with Titanium Backup, in Samsung account, I have wiped the data and now I can create a new Samsung account.
Software updates works again .
re instale kieselguhr on your pc
Titanium Backup worked for me too... thanks for the hint m8..

Hello guys:
I have a t-mobile Lumia 710 and am using it on viva Dominican Republic. I debranded and upgraded to 12070 but I can not get it to connect to my network data service. I use 2 different sims 1 in the US connects no problem but the Dominican will not connect at all. I changed APN and also tried the Network setup app with no luck, even did a hard reset it does not find the network.
Help please dont know what else to do
maybe with the full unlock there is a way to change the settings?
Phone info
FW rev. 1600.3015.8107.12070
HW rev. 112.1402.2.1.
Also another question how to do a zune restore after a hard reset
had to do everything manual after the reset because zune would not give me the option to restore
Settings > Mobiles Network > Scroll to bottom > APN > Enter settings Manually ?
Thanks for your reply, but I already tried that with no luck.
The phone has the network setup app version 1.4.0.0 but when I fire it up it says no network found. I saw in another tread a link to upgrade it there it comes up version 1.6.0 but it does not let me download it. Dont know what else to do.
Mine is Version 1.6.3.0
I think I just got it from the Marketplace but its been removed.
I`ll post back here if I find anything about it
EDIT - Apparently it was pulled from the market due to an Interop Unlock security bug, and renamed to "Persiapan Jaringan" (Which translates from Indonesian into "Preparation Network")
I guess you`ll have to wait for the dev to update it
Might be because I already have it installed, but under the Nokia Collection in the phones Marketplace app its still there
Try using this link from your phone

Thanks Detection, that was the one I was trying to download I have version 1.4.o and in the market place it says 1.6.0 but it wont let me download.

There is no 710 thread.

Hey everyone!
Yesterday a bought a used SGS II. When i got home i have decided to upgrade it to ICS from Gingerbread(2.3.4). I couldn't do it with Wi-Fi because my phone said that to turn on the Wi-fi...i turned it on before i started it and i have downloaded some apps using my Wi-fi. Then i tried to upgrade with Kies but it didn't work because Kies said that my software is not supported. My phone was rooted so i thought it could be the reason. After i downloaded the SpoofSW app to cheat and do the upgrade with Kies. And below the Product Key box i got this message: Product Code is not active. I flashed the 4.0.3 ICS to my phone with Odin and it works great but...now i can't abolish the disclaimer about the software update and i can't accept the license... It says: Processing Failed. I think the not active product key occours that.
My question is : How can I disappear the disclaimer? And How can i activate the product key? Or what does that mean my product key is not active?
Thanks for helping and sorry for bad English!
Settings --> Applications --> All --> Software update --> Disable.
thanks! It worked!!
But what about the product key problem? Or is this an unimportant thing?
Whenever I try to do an OTA on my Verizon Galaxy SIII, I get a popup that says:
Service unavailable
Check for System Updates under Settings > About device when service is available
I've been searching and searching to no avail, nobody in the GS3 forum seems to be able to help.
Can I update manually? Like a zip file? and if so, where?
Thanks
My phone shows "Software Update Available" in the Notification Menu. When I clicked and tried to select country, it doesn't show India. All countries are available, except India.
If the update is available, then why not it's showing my country?
And guys, can anyone tell what all things get updated with this? Will all my data get deleted? What is the safe procedure to follow while updating?
if you are using kies to update, you can try to edit its register and change its region to "IN" for india. usually its value is "US" just change it.
Update the phone using Kies. And for differences in ICS and JB search on Google.. there are million articles on it.. Stuff like project butter, blocking mode etc
I have an AT&T Samsung S9+. OTA says that I'm already up to date and Samsung Smart Switch says that I'm already up to date too.
I've decided to use SamFirm to download my firmware and update it using Odin.
Here are my statistics:
settings > about > software information > service provider SW ver. it says ATT/ATT/ATT...
My model is SM-G965U.
- I don't know what to put for my Region on the SamFirm tool. Do I put ATT?
- If I do go ahead w/this firmware update will it erase all the data on my phone? I just want to update to Android Pie.
- My Samsung S9+ is AT&T unlocked and I'm now on Metro-PCS, will this mess up my unlocked status and what about affect my Metro-PCS status?
- I heard that using Odin can easily brick your phone, are there ways of preventing that from happening?
Please help thanks!

The First Thing You Need To Do Is.... READ, READ AND READ SOME MORE..
At this device's price point.. you don't want an S9+ paperweight.
Please.. learn what you are doing before you do it.. you should feel VERY comfortable with Odin before pulling the trigger..
Go Watch A Bunch Of YouTube's On The Subject.
While you are doing that.. if you are not going to be a "Paid Member" over at Sammobile, you need to start downloading the "USA (AT&T) version of software. I'm doing this as I type this and it takes over 3 hours to complete if you do not sign up and pay a member fee.
If you want your device to have metroPCS features.. you need to flash the U.S.C. software ( What I use on my Unlocked version ) without your sim installed.. reboot.. and it'll ask you to insert your carrier's sim and it will set things up according to that particular sim.. ( Like Metro's Wi-Fi Calling ).
It's strange.. I have the U.S.A. Unlocked Version (U1) and the device is saying it's "Up To Date" with CSA8 software installed.. So, I'm going to just flash F1 and call it a day..
Take Your Time.. And Good Luck!
A Suggestion..

If you have not already flashed anything... my advice would be to download the "USC U1" July 8th F1 software and install that.
Leave your Sim Out of your phone during the flash.. Just disconnect once you get a green "Pass!" and let it reboot.. ( it will take some extra time ) once it reboots.. you should get a message stating to "Insert Your Sim Card and Reboot" .
Being the Carrier-Free version of the software, It will set your device up with MetroPCS 's features... Done.
No need to worry about going with the ATT version... unless you are still using some of it's bloatware..
