Orange ROM - 7 Mozart General

Hi There, i feel like the orange rom lags, does anyone else have this. I changed from debranding because I wanted to unvoid my warranty, furthermore the only differnce i thought was the that htc rom didnt have orange apps and was green. However I dont feel this is the case.

no lags or anything of that kind for my Orange ROM Mozart..

no lags on mine either. Depends on what you mean by 'lags' though i guess.
delay when launching apps? animations hanging? what is lagging?
Also - how much free space on your device?

5gb free space, and yes animations hangign and when i slide it takes a second, wihile before it was instantious with the debranded rom.

I don't understand why you would want a Orange ROM on the phone. Company branding in my opinion ruins phones. So I understanding why you have lag, your phone is loading unnessary data associated with the branded ROM.

warranty. i didnt want to void, as i had a problem. im not an idiot.

i'm running the Orange ROM and have no lag - must be something specific to your device.
did you flash the rom yourself ir is it the default rom that came with the phone?
have you got NoDo yet?

yep got nodo etc, it doesnt lag anymore. I dont know what it was but its stopped thankfully.

1.30 ROM
Hi all
Flashing this ROM might resolve any problems:

Only things i changed are the icons, CHT and other basic stuff...
Now, i want to try Android on my phone, is that possible without ROM Updating my system (That will affect my Windows Mobile Install)
And how do i get the whole android thing installed on my phone?
Well, hope someone can help a dork and nutnut like me

in short the answer would be no.
There are many factors that enable android to run on an hd2,mostly rom & radios for which you'd need to hspl3 your phone. By upgrading your rom you wouldn't be loosing your windows mobile-if anything gaining more from a phone that is somewhat redundant without tweaking or upgrading. After all once you've got a custom rom you'll love it all the more & now with an android port the best of both world's. The best thing I did to my phone after having. It a couple of weeks was flashing over a radio & rom. Take the plunge & you'll see the vastness that this phone has
Last I checked ROM has nothing to do with it. Radio yes, depending on the radio version you have it might need to be changed. Android runs from the SD card and shuts down windows when it starts so what would the ROM have to do with anything.

A lot of it is rom depending as I've only seem a handful of people who have it working on stock. To the op try it & report findings on here to give others the benefit
best bet would be to follow the installation guides.
I was in the same dilemma... Afraid to harm my precious HD2... I started with adding android to SD using the stock tmous rom and it was great until I had to make a call or received a call then it was all bad... I dealt with that for a month until I took the plunge and downloaded chuckys rom... totally worth it... most bugs fixed... sod here and there, but overall it's worth it!!!

Atrix RAM fix

Hi all
I am looking to install CM7 on my phone and have been doing a fair bit of reading before taking the plunge.
I am relatively happy on the steps involved now, the order to do them in and (roughly) how to do them. The only bit which I am a little sketchy on is the RAM issue from unlocking the bootloader.
I am on an Orange UK handset and understand that a side effect of the unlock is ending up with ~300Mb RAM. The details in the fix here don't seem to quite make sense to me.
I guess what I am really asking is, after unlocking the bootloader and installing CM7 will my phone still only register ~300Mb or is that fix just for stock Gingerbread ROMs? The guide refers to Orange FR Gingerbread which I obviously do not want (I am currently running stock 2.2.2 Orange UK firmware).
I apologise as I am sure this has come up before but I want to do this correctly.
Many thanks for any guidance.

I rooted my phone and I never installed the ram fix. I was always sitting on350-400 of ram with like 60 other so apps on there. I installed cm7 and now get 550-600 with the same apps and settings. My phone boots up in 7 seconds top from when you see the bootlogo to the lockscreen. Its so fast

Keep in mind the OP is asking about international Orange versions of the Atrix not USA AT&T, I don't think USA AT&T versions are experiencing this odd RAM problem.

Incase anyone else is interested to know, I took the plunge and just went ahead and did it this evening:
1) Unlock bootloader
2) Root phone
3) Installed CM7
After point 1, I only had the ~300Mb available. After point 3, I have the full ~800Mb available...
So, the answer is the RAM restriction is only on Moto ROMs. I presume the obvious answer is this is linked to the kernel so CM7 works just fine.

Apparently de-blur ROMs all seem to do that, i'm an international user and flashed Home Base and also the ROM problem is gone and the phone is just saaaaaaaaaa fast!
Only one qualm though, it gets a tad too hot for my liking, next step is to learn more about undervolting to see if i can somehow control the overheating...

It uses a 1.3 GHz kernel so you should set up profiles to underclock when you don't need all that power

finally found a thread which got some info after searching for a month.i dont own an atrix planning to buy one.i also dont undestand this issue of ram.is it for those who use stock rom.because the fix is using an orangefr.
do other roms contain the fix like cm7.
im planning to use a stock middle east rom
or a custom rom which supports arabic.
its the kernel contained within the CM7 rom, it contains the unified kernel with the ram fix for at&t and international users...

UPDATE
i flashed faux's unified kernal. solved it
ram fix
i got bellgb2.3.6 im d00, everything works great including lapdock
now i have 300mb ram,
did you got any solution?
If I recall correctly, Faux v0.2.3 kernel has the fix built into it.

Not trying to get off topic here but would it be possible with a hack to get all the ram to show up. For example, I want all the ram (1GB) to show up instead of 815MB Available. I understand that the android system allocates ~250MB for the OS but I heard that you can make it so all the ram shows up.
quick question, im running Nottach's wet dream rom with faux's 123 unified 1.3GHz kernal. Im not having any problems with the ram, i get an avg of 500mb. i did have a problem before with was solved with one of faux's kernels. what will happen if i flash the ramfix? nothing or will i get more available?

Lag issues

Hello I have this phone for bout 2 years now had never any problems with it, Official rom never rooted. From like a week or so .. i have this huge lag delay and freez issue ..... can someone help me how to fix this, cuz i see that there is not stable and official rom made up yet, and as I know X+ will not get 4.4 or any other updates which is really stupid cuz this is quad core phone with enough power to deal with any rom atm .....pls give me info how to do, I never made anything to this phone and I don`t know how to do the things ..... I`m a girl and I`m using my boyfriends account on xda so ......
TY in advance
Try to restart the phone, close apps running in background.
You can do a factory reset. But make sure to backup your data. A factory reset will delete anything on your device.
You can find this Option in your phone settings.

What phone are you using? AT&T?
Did you recently install any new apps that could be causing the issue?
Is your phone's internal storage full? Anything less than 1GB of free space can cause lagging, especially when accessing data from the storage.
Have you ever cleared your web browser history & cache (for all the browsers installed on the phone)?
I had a similar problem with a custom ROM a few weeks ago for the AT&T version of the One X+, clearing web browser caches and histories cleared it up. You might try that.
There are stable custom ROM's for this phone, you just have to look for them.

Choppy Animations

Hello guys.
I bought my opx last month and for the most part of it I am very happy with the phone. I am an android newbie (I know what the terms flash, ROM, kernel etc mean but never tried something on my phone). One issue that really bugs me (apart from the little lag here and there when moving to shelf or when closing certain tabs from 'recent') is that whenever I select something from the settings, the 'select' animation (that little circle that expands) is really laggy and choppy. On the other hand, I tried it on my friend's opx and is was way smoother. (this was an issue from the start btw it is not that I installed a bad app or something). So, any ideas why this is happening? Should I try to flash a certain ROM or install a custom kernel? Is there a good build that improves performance?
Thanks in advance!

You can try to reduce animation speed in developers options. Perhaps your friend also did this.
backup everything and factory reset the device. it should fix it, if it doesn't then it probably is a hardware issue(unlikely)...
also make sure that you are on the latest version of OOS, i.e. 2.2.0-X.

Actually I removed the animator scale completely because it was very choppy as i said. I tried it at x23 and x50 but still the same. :/
That's really strange. Have you tried factory resetting it? I used the stock rom in it's entirety for about a week and it was perfectly smooth and usable. I only switched to a different kernel because people were saying that it helped 3D performance noticeably (and they were right.).

No I haven't. Maybe I should give it a try. The problem is that I removed animator scale completely and it doesn't bother me anymore, so I am not that motivated to factory reset . Btw, If i want to install the bluespark kernel you are probably talking about, I have to be rooted? Also does installing a custom kernel require a data wipe?

You do need to be rooted and have a custom recovery installed. The cool thing about 1+ is that neither of these things (which requires an unlocked bootloader) will void the warranty. Unlocking the bootloader will wipe the phones data sadly, I've never understood why. My Moto G did the same thing..

What is best option for nexus9.

Hi guys,
I'm sorry cause asking this, especially cause this question has been asked manytimes and I have read several subjects too, but I didn't strict answer I'm looking for.
I recently bought nexus 9 (WiFi only model) 16gigs,
I unlocked bootloader, I rooted the device and now I want to debloat it.
I'm in dilema weither I should just have it rooted and debloated on 7.1.1. android, or should I use some of the custom roms around.
I'm aiming to use tablet mainly for gaming. I have servral games I'd like to play listed:
Marvel Future Fight
DC Legends
Star Wars Galaxy Heroes
Star Wars Force arena
and few others but i take it that if those can run fine, all others would too.
Also can someone point me to a safelist of application that can be removed if answer to first question is to just leave it rooted and debloat.
Thank you a lot for help.
Cheers.

For the best performance, install a custom ROM. As for debloat, ... It's a Nexus, what bloat?
But if you want minimal, I would say flash slimrom and the smallest gapps package that fits your needs. Or go gapps free and use micro g instead.
Performance on stock is pretty bad (really bad), but a custom ROM will fix it for the n9. When I say bad on stock, I mean opening more than 1 tab in chrome, it has to reload the page every time switching between the two. Same with having a couple apps open.
Fortunately, most of the ROMs out there take care of all that.

How would someone find official roms? I used pure nexus rom thinking that is official but i guess i was wrong. I not to big on roms knowing. They all looks the same to me I just care to be able to uninstall builtin apps i don't use and that everything works fine.
This one i use now had a problem common with nexus 9, white blocks and anoying skrechy sound, but i read somehwere it is fixed by unhoking battery, cleaning pins and putting it back together. I tried it and I didn't have problems since then. I drained battery to 2% no problem, before it was impossible. I have no idea was it ROM issue or what.

But it's safe to say that it's fixed now. Everyone was talkin about disconnecting battery, and clean a bit and connecting again.
it seems such a easy troll solution to this "very anoying and hard problem that even HTC didn't solve", and i did it and it really did the job (knock on a wood ). I've been draining battery to the end for 3 days now, nothing ever like that happend ever again. before it wasn't even a day when i didn't experienced that problem.

Good to hear. That usually is the fix for that.
Please, just to confirm, is this "image-volantis-n9f27l" official ROM or it's custom ROM?
I also use this bootloader : "bootloader-flounder-3.50.0.0143" since other ones didn't work for me.
I was with support trying to solve issue of Device restarting every time I install new app or update app, and while trying to clear cache partition, it gone to my device not wanting to boot. so i had to factory reset, and it still won't start android in full. so i have to reflash ROM. I guess.
I'm kinda lost now cause i don't know what to do.
As said i just want for my device to be rooted so i can delete all apps i don't need and change launcher (deleting existing one - well i don't know if it's smart or not. i figure why having two launcers when i will use only one).
And i want to play games and use apps without it failing on me all the time.
