[Q] Restore Arc Files with SEUS on X10 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if we could restore the Arc's system files with SEUS onto the x10 by selecting the "repair phone" option. I personally don't wan't to be the first to try it and break my phone, which is why I am asking anyone who wants to give it a go, to try it. JUST REMEMBER, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BREAK YOUR PHONE!

Forget this. It will flash Kernel and all from ARC and all that is not working at all on X10 and you will probably have a dead Phone. But i think SEUS arent even letting you flash ARC Files on your Phone even too you will select ARC it will recognize its a X10 and not a ARC

well, when i select repair phone when my phone is not connected I have the option of choosing the phone I have, and oddly there are 2 different Arc models to choose from. which is why I wanna see if anyone wants to test it.
Side note: wolfbreak on your CM ROM, I'm not sure which upgrade or hotfix it was, but when you install timescape you get FC on infinityview cause you need to apply the hotfix/upgrade AFTER you install timescape. I was unable to get Timescape AND contacts/phonebook working properly with the all in one v006 version, so I had to go back to v05, and install v06update, then timescape, then all the hotfixes, patches etc.

It's is a developers source code and if I am not wrong these are for developers to look into and tinker around with.
Firmware for end-user is available via OTA/SEUS/PC Companion as per company's plan generally a few days/weeks after being mentioned on PRTDC.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
This is not usable as a ROM. It's only the Source data that SE has to release as per the Open GPL Licenses....
The only workaround with this file should be to compile some Kernel Modules like tun.ko etc...
As Kloud_ said the firmware releases are sent via SEUS/PC Companion....
Jim
Someone who knows what they are looking for can tell what is included in the update from the source code posted above, though
I'm not smart enough for that

Works on my phone(at least in the picture viewer portion of mediascape). MT works in all apps that support it at all.
I'm currently running:
Firmware: 2.1-update-1
Baseband: 2.0.46
Kernel: 2.6.29
Build: 2.0.A.0.504 (MT update and fix(mt for all apps) with JIT enabled)
i wonder when SE will show 2.2 after all

Believe me, it will never appear.
They are going to release the Xperia ARC in q1 with gingerbread 2.3 and then nobody cares about the X10.
The X10-Roadmap ends with a UXP upgrade in January.

...I did agree with you, if that was unclear. Just saying that they also said "never" for the multi/dual-touch implementation, though doesn't necessarily mean anything.
Guys I updated my phone thru SE today. This is actually a rom.the base band and the build number are different and also could root the phone with flash tools.
Screen shots. Also added the 2.2.11 market and some other stuff like Neo reader and post card which are not really usable. But i Confirm you can root the device,

They did once say they may be able to get multi-touch working on the X10 tho, they have never said they may release 2.2.
It isn't going to happen, never ever will, end of story.
If they did I would prefer FreeX10 anyway, as SE 2.2 would have too much ****e on it
2.1.A.0.435 = poor perfromance
SE update service announced this a while back but ignored it until I got a dead ROM, which happened today while playing with Gingerbread 2.3.1 - TripNRaVeR v1.1 - since gone to 1.2 and with the sound / keyboard / wifi / sdcard fixes in place and working, highly recommend checking it..
EDIT: After flashing back to this standard ROM to look into MultiTouch further, found Multitouch is implemented in stock 2.1.A.0.435 ROM. Working with browser, docs, Angry Birds, Maps and more, not Navigation by default, investigating.
So there you have it - Multitouch is enabled on the 435 ROM. All other ROM versions can add it with the Dual Touch kernel mod and setting the xml file options / Build.prop etc.. takes 10 minutes and is worth it!
The new Mediascape has a Plus / Minus flexible icon that appears when you hold your finger on the picture, allowing you to zoom in and out, but not pinch ouch!
2.1.A.0.435 is the slowest ROM I've used. Linkpack score of 6.xx - totally lame app performance, constantly killing processes and I gave up using it within 2 hours, not even bothering to make an update.zip to return to xRecovery loading my preferred 2.0.2.A.0.24 with XGbread theme.
EDIT 2: Don't recommend downgrading from 2.3.1 to 2.1.A.0.435 ROM by Flashing with Update Service and then using xRecovery to attempt loading 2.1.A.0.24 - as this bricked my device and was forced to use the Update Service to go back to 2.1.A.0.435, which is where I am stuck right now - lol - this is because of the baseband version being so different you will always receive - No service - WiFi will crash repeatedly and basically you can't use it as a phone anymore.
Root via SuperOneClick - works! - Install BusyBox - works! - load xRecovery works!

Xperia Active Launcher X10 mini

Hello.
I have a request or get Xperia Active Launcher on x10 mini? for Android 2.1?
Xda please help!
PS.
I have found but for x8, and when install the X10 mini I have forced the closure of applications
This launcher is ported by X8 user AChep and its made for MDPI so there is no way to work on X10 Mini/Pro
So for the X10 mini does not appear Xperia Active Launcher?
Force close . . . make folder. . .

i am using xperia active launcher for 2 days now...
i have CM7 from nAa, look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188048 it says that in 2.1 doesnt work
I do not know how I managed to do it but (Xperia Active Launcher) works on my X10 mini android 2.1: D
can you post a link to the file you used?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1187008&page=3
thank you. I got FC when i try to add widget on MiniCM6.
Maybe best to update to MiniCM7 and try again ;P
edit: I also must say, that launcher pro is running smoother then this, but this might be related to the fact that it's not supposed to run under another android version then 2.3x
I just installed it and it works fine on a x10mini with CM7 2.3.5.
Is there any menu for configuration? can't find any settings at all except changing background.
thanks.

Hello.
I found these applications, but unfortunately they are not "even the mini x10" while working on the SE X10
And my question. Will there be also the mini-applications on x10 x10 mini pro?
Or maybe someone already has it, please link.
please help.
Yours.
works great on miniCM7. Runs pretty smooth on miniCM7, although it was pretty much usable under miniCM6.
But i must say: The 4 corner idea is great, but I did switch back launcher pro, because of two reasons:
1) launcher pro offers more items per homescreen and i can access the items faster (maybe because I'm used to it...)
2) I miss the launcher pro widgets!
how to install? i cannot install...when installing it says...cannot install... :-(
In my case I had to reset the configuration through recovery. After installing this application.

[ROM][GB] JJ's Ginger Lite (Only 69mb inlcluding Google apps)

Hi,
I am not a Stripper... But I used to love to strip off ROMs in Old GB times... Sadly never thought of making my own ROM and publish it...
So here is a stripped off GB ROM that was lying with me for long but now useless for me since I am ICS fan but might be of some use for GB SOny fanatics...
Download the ROM
Download Kernel (Thanks Aire for the Awesome Kernel of Ancient times)
FAQs
1) Are you going to support this one?
A: Noooooooo.... I left it without love for over a month now... I hav been using it in GB days.. No probs...
2) I want this addon and this Mod and this this this...
A: Help yourself...Make a backup of your system apps with Titanium backup and restore what u miss... the onyl thing I might provide is International keyboard since included is only English Sony Keyboard
3) can i Flash on Locked Bootloader?
A: Yes you can...
4) Why so Smooth?
A: its JJ's ROM...
5) what has been removed
A: flash to see it urself... Lot of stuff for Sony fanatics is left intact...
6) How should I flash?
A: Just like other ROMS... via CWM recovery... There are hundred guides.. search ....
7) does it have Gapps?
A: Latest Youtube, Market, Gtalk, Googlesearch and other google ****s...are Latest ones and its ROOTED..
8) it has this Bug and that bug..
A: Live with it... I dont have much time for it... .. Its gonna be history after a couple of weeks anyway...
Happy Flashing....
I should have tried thisbrom before switching to Ics sad to see you kept it from us. Used to be a gb fan. Because of. My motto you ain't fixing if it ain't broke.. Anyways I love your Ics custom rom..
I love it.... But MTP not perfect

Sorry as would be done to put in a Ray Xperia bootloader locked, sorry for my bad English ..
If i flash this rom, will i be able to update via pc companion after?
i am so f*cking sick of trying custom roms, nearly every ics rom has problems with a lot of 3d games (**** you, google!!!!), some gb roms have problems with this and that and this and that and so on.
i really like this rom because of its slickness. but WHAT A SURPRIIIISE, of course there's an ugly thing too, i CANT BUY STUFF ON google play via my phone bill.
im so pissed off right now, i'm on the best way to hate android in a very special way. because i got my phone for about a month now and there was not a single rom that satisfied me in every single way / works more than a week without showing (big?) flaws.
i really understand those iphone-people now, "one OS for a few devices, everythings stable and so on".
thats just not possible with android. if you wanna go "beyond" stockrom and stockapps, it doesnt take too long and your F+CKED! happy reinstalling!!
keyboard is not working for me, can please somebody help
this is best GB rom for me. very fast, smooth and good battery life.
Tks

Well if you can afford to buy an iPhone then buy one, but you'll be bored by not having to customise it
I'm guessing you haven't tried the hybrid yet, look for JJdoctor
I have tried every single rom for the Sony Xperia Ray, and this old Gingerbread rom from JJDoctor is by a long way the slickest one for the Ray. ICS is a bit slow for the Sony Ray with the hardware available understandably, but this gblite rom really flies, and you can easily make it look like ICS by downloading ADW launcher and then downloading the ICS theme for free.

Yeah I figured it out but at first I couldn't enter into my profile therefore I couldn't use Google Play
p.s. which baseband should I use ? I think mobile data is not working
I think they recommend baseband 58 but I am using the latest baseband 72, which seems to be the best upto now. The other basebands and even this one a little bit are awful to use as wifi hotspots, every so often there is a long pause where the mobile internet data connection refuses to do anything, I find it really frustrating.
So the problems are mobile data and MTP everything else is perfect.
data
Any advice on mobile data?

[APP][GUIDE] Xperia Arc S Music Widget And Xperia S Music Player On Xperia Arc S !!

Added video on youtube : http://youtu.be/pGkvpcmWL9o
** Please Note I tried it on my own, Its different **
People who need Xperia Arc S widget and Xperia S player on Xperia Arc S LT18i ..!!!
** There are certain changes in the steps please read carefully **
Thanks to datagubben and fatimarvin_15 (its a mixture of both their steps to get it this way and my created zip file)
All steps to have xperia Arc S Widget and Xperia S Working Equalizer, Clearbass, Surround, FBmusiclikes, edit option (SemcMetadataCleanup.apk) & background color change while music 3d scrolling.. Fully tested and working on my Xperia Arc S LT18i
You need a rooted Arc/ Arc S with 2.3.4 Gingerbread and CWM-recovery.
(a) Download this pack : http://www.4shared.com/zip/KZ2Bi5k9/Another_Way.html
(b) Extract it all and transfer the files to the SD-card .
(c) Start by installing only the following like a regular app : SemcMusic.apk and Soundenhancement.apk (overwrite any present). don't open player after this just do the next step ..
(d) Now you need to swith off and turn on your phone into CWM-recovery mode ..
(e) Flash this via CWM from the SD-card : Soundfx_Xperia_S.zip (contains SoundEnhancement Equalizer to work )
(f) Then flash "lib.zip" (this enables more button in equalizer)
press power off from cwm
(g) Turn on your phone and go in cwm mode again and flash "permission framework.zip"
(h) reboot your phone, remove/move n backup2sd any previous fbmusic like from system, reboot and install new fb music like to sd(for unlock bootloaders wheather they have relocked it later) . Else who have not unlocked bootloader atall, just replace it with new one in file to sys/app with rw-r-r permissions. if this doesn't works just do it as told for the unlock bootloader arc s phones ..
Then just go in settings and recheck facebook integration and fbmusic like will work!!
(i) Then Do it normally for SemcMetadataCleanup.apk install to sd or try it to sys/app with rw-r-r permissions (i cannot confirm its fully functional as i had unlocked bootloader so "download from network" feature doesn't works, but it does work like you can edit album art and add album art pic from gallery and edit song details)
Shew!! Enjhoy!!
do it peacefully, please i will not be held responsible if u brick your phone.. do it on your own risk and carefully!
If you see the music widget being blank, just remove it from screen and re add to screen it should definately work ... with the crystal colour changing according to theme the small flames
So there you have it! Xperia Arc S widget and Xperia S player on lt18i xperia arc s ( cannot confirm for arc as i dont have it )
Please Press Thanks, If You Wanted This And Got it!!
Screen shots : http://postimage.org/gallery/nwpswfc/49b4e788/

Well guys its only for gingerbread 2.3.4 | .62 as mentioned, mayb for .42 aswell (but i installed it after updating and installing to .62 gingerbread)
i flashed stock .42 via flash tools n rooted it then updated to .62 via wifi and installed cwm and then continued with the main steps on the first post
i didn't like ics so i never tried it there, i believe this method won't work on ics and it would require more modifications ...
and yes so its working on official .62 update as i installed it via wifi the update that we get if we are on .42 first

i believe but not sure that for ics you just need to normally install the xperia s music player and sound enhacement to sd ....
you may get the music player ofcourse running and the xperia s equalizer with better sound quality for earphones.. but u may have to sacrifice the clear bass, surround sound thing and not to install those zip files using cwm .... i am not sure still u can see if it works and if u have no problem that if it doesnt works and u re-flash ur phone again ...
upto you or mayb i'll try to figure out for ics when i get an updated ics better than gingerbread .62
well...

still it is functional.. just the download from network doesn't works and ofcourse it won't work as i have unlocked bootloader, so don't know if its fully functional or not for those who havn't unlocked their bootloader... But as mentioned above it does work like you can edit song details and add album art pic from gallery .. it will bring that album art to that song!
Else you can use media go pc software and use download album info from there
Mainly its all though about enjoying better sound with xperia s music player n its all features, along with the default nice arc s music widget..

This is probably what you're looking for. I found it a while back and it works fine on my O1. I think it force closes on stock Gingerbread, though, but it seems to be OK for CM7 based ROMs. Link below:
SE_Active_launcher.apk - 825.30 KB
it works on my p500......oxygen 2.3.2 rom
but when i m going to add any thing like widget then it force close.,.,.,.,.,
tell me any solution .,,.,.,
Well, it looks like what I heard about it force closing on stock GB is true, then. I'm running neko's Ginger Snap 2.1 rom, which is CM7.2 based, and I have no problems adding widgets. Oxygen is an AOSP rom, iirc. Someone may need to port this properly to run on AOSP roms, which I'm afraid I'm not skilled enough to do.

Try to install as Systemapp. Download a Root Explorer and give root access. Browse to /system/app and copy the file to that path, set permissions to rwx-rwx-rwx and reboot.
You could try giving this version a try: Xperia_Active_Launcher.apk - 724.62 KB
