Hi Guys, a couple of questions:
Has anyone tried the new offical HTC WM 6.1 update with Blackberry connect software? If so, did it work OK?
Secondly, maybe at bit of a n00b question here but can I get google maps and Opera mini to work on my Nike using my Blackberry data connection?
I'm so pleased I managed to get the Blackberry software (version 4.0.0.97) to work on my Touch Dual as work were insisting I had a Blackberry which I tried and hated so I now have the best of both worlds! I just don't want to mess it up now!
Cheers, Dean
Flash Original HTC Rom!
Install BBC on your Phone!
If you get a PIN it works!
The best of both worlds? BB good? Not realy ... BBC on WM doesnt work better, then direct Sync with the Exchange Server. With BBC ... MI6 read your Mails.
Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to download and install successfully a BlackBerry version of Opera mini on a windows mobile phone? I hate using PIE and I get unlimited browsing with my BlackBerry and would love to use Opera instead.

just some different possible browsers:
Skyfire (www.skyfire.com)
opera mobile (www.opera.com/mobile)
opera mini (theres an installer which also makes shortcuts on the jbed... just search it... GC java pack)
Hi, I've taken the plunge and updated my T-Mobile Touch Dual to the latest HTC stock rom. I've also installed BlackBerry Connect (version 4.0.0.97) and once I changed the AKU, all is working fine. I'm really happy with the performance of this rom. It's made my tired Nike feel like a new phone! It's very fast and has resolved a few bugs from the 6.0 rom. What I really would love now is to find a way to use the Opera Mini browser using my BlackBerry data connection. Does anyone know if there is a hack that can achieve this? Only the program that apears to work with the BlackBerry data connection is Explorer!

Same here, any luck so far?
Hi there,
I've searched the forum extensively and all I can find is very old talk (from 2007) about a messenger client for Windows 6.5 that supports the QQ network.
I saw someone mention that with a reg hack you can get Palringo to support QQ, but then doesn't mention how to do it!
Also searched the interwebs for a QQ client and seems to be no dice. All of them support ICQ, MSN, gtalk et al, but no QQ
I have downloaded the QQ2008 client from the shou ji website for QQ, and it installs fine, however it just won't connect to the QQ network. My Chinese is ok so I can understand some of the stuff, but the error message I can't.
I have a feeling that you can only connect to the 3G QQ inside China as I'm in Australia at the moment. I might be talking BS though, can anyone confirm or refute this?
Wouldn't mind being able to speak to my woman when I'm mobile on QQ so any client that could connect would be good. I tried the Java based mova messenger, installed fine, ran, but it doesn't like my HTC Touch Pro 2 touch screen, wouldn't connect to the QQ network and then when I exited disappeared from my programs list and my storage card. Guess my phone didn't like it.
Anyone help out with a lightweight, easy to use client that can connect to QQ?
Many thanks in advance.
i running qq2008 fine on wm6.1 through wifi, i downloaded through the qq website, also if you want to read the weird characters properely you need to change yor regional settings (settings-system-regional setings) to china or one of the chinese ones, i'm also in aust. so regional settings on aust. will give you funny characters,
thanks man, I have build 092 that I downloaded from the QQ website too.
I have chinese fonts installed on my phone including sogou pinying so I can see all the chinese scripts fine. It just wont connect to the QQ servers for some reason.
In the QQ program, which connection to you select, "My Work Internet"?
any help is appreciated.
qq ugly , nothing fun , and really stupid ,

BeeGame, you are right, and still doesn't work on my mobile. Does anyone know the QQ server that it should connect to and where that's stored in the registry so I can double check it?

just choose 'the internet'
Support qq, support for China
geejayoh, you should try build 088. build 092 doesnt work for me, except through wifi, but 088 works fine
Installed QQ build 092 on my phone, everything seems fine I'm able to browse inside the program, but for the chat portion of the program, I couldnt' get it to connect to the server on wifi or 3g.
Build 88 just gives me a blank screen, it may not be compatible with wm 6.5 that is what i'm thinking.
Help !_!
you may try this :change your wifi connection to internet ,not my work.
I have same problem but I'm in china, so it is not your 3G ...
Can anybody help....
hi, i'm using build 92, in austria over 3G... i experienced, that the first time it takes an awful long time and many tries to get an initial connection. after this it works almost without problems (but still takes about 40 seconds to connect).
so, try many times, with a good 3G connection and wait... i think it must search for the best (nearest) server and tries to ping some of them. the last successful connect-ip is written somewhere in a file in the QQ program folder (suclonginIP.cfg, notice the typo, hehe) but its not human readable. i frequently backup all "access date > 2009" files to my PC, for later restore after rom refresh, and this solved also the "initial connect takes long time" problem.
I am using HTC Touch Pro with 3 network in Australia.
I had build088 and it was working with the setting to "mobile internet" instead of "planet 3". Then yesterday I flash my mobile to use the TEAL ROM with is WM6.5. And now QQ is not working, all I can get is a blank screen. I tried build92 and even qq2007, all downloaded form QQ's website, still no luck.
I guess the problem may be QQ does not support WM6.5. And I am very interested to know of to tweak palringo to make it work with QQ,

very good!!
It's all about network settings
I have been running QQ for mobile on two devices, a O2 Xda Neo and an Touch HD in 4 different countries : Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and China with no problem whatsoever.
Not really an answer, but when on WiFi I use Opera and go to http://w.qq.com . That is webQQ Mini.
I works soso on my HD2 (WM6.5). The text seems not to scroll, means new messages could be below your reading line. And then it's very difficult to scroll the text up.
Working on HTC Diamond Touch 2
I am in Australia.
I have just installed PPCQQ2008_Build093.CAB on my HTC TD2 which uses windows mobile 6.5
I can send and receive texts. I am still working out how to change my online status, I am used to the international version of QQ in English on a PC.
I have yet to work though the Chinese instructions to understand how the mobile version works.
I have it working through WIFI. So far I haven't got it to work on WAP
It works fine on my WM 6.5, however I barely can use it due chinese fonts.. Any English version or language interface file?
maybe GFW....

same problem as you, maybe is a problem with internet conection (mine is doing like that on wifi, using 3G it doesn't)
very strange
Hi! I bought some days ago an used lumia 640LTE as a secondary phone for mapping cellular Towers (cellmapper). In the country where I am now (Namibia) the 2g coverage is prevalent so i get very slow internet connection (sometimes only able to handle WhatsApp text). This phone lasts me more than my Galaxy s8+ so I am using the lumia as my primary phone; I got every app I need except for opera mini. With 2g coverage I can't live without it, but it seems like it was discontinued last year (I'm not in Windows phone world since 2 years). I tried searching it on the internet and I got a page on Windows store (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/opera-mini/9wzdncrdmtk6), but it asks me for a code (which I don't have). So i tried deploying a xap that i found in xda forum but I got this error (see photo). Is there a way to install opera mini? I tried also other browsers (like UC) but they aren't the same as opera mini. Thanks!
Have you entered that link from edge?
Yes, why?
For Xap use XapDeployeur
