Vibrant overclocking - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Im trying to find a rom to overclick my vibrant so I could get a higher cpu than 1400

I use Simply Galaxy 2.3.3 with the oc1.2 kernel. At 1ghz I get a quadrant score of around 1660 and oc at 1.2 I get a score around 2130. Its a great rom give it a shot.

OCing depends primarily on the Kernel not the rom, the rom just helps with making the phone smoother and more efficent when OCing. Anyway, if you're running a 2.2 or 2.2.1 rom here's the only kernel I know off that can get you over 1.4.

How do I do that tho

I'd recommend you do some reasearch on flashing..
YOu need CWM to flash kernels/modems/roms

Set CPU questions...

Hey I'm running Nero V1 + Super I/O. Are any kernals able to do 1.2ghz? What are some good ways to set up profiles on SetCPU?

Look into TW's "destroyer of worlds" kernels found in their forums. They are oc'd to 1.2, 1.3, & 1.4. I loved it, but it was too much of a battery drain since they are based off the i9000 kernel (like all oc kernels right now).

Quadrant doesnt matter at all. I am on bionix v and its a perfect daily driver. Its fast and has excellent battery life. THE ONLY THING QUADRANT IS GOOD FOR IS COMPARING NUMBERS. And besides 1500 is pretty good.

Well if you really want some high scores, then odin back to stock (backup your stuff with titanium first and put it on your desktop so you can return it later) then find ryanza's one click lag fix. It converts your file system to ext2 and does something to boost your score to around 2300. The i/o part of the test goes by instantly. And for more added score i guess you could overclock it. But i wouldnt recommend it. 2300 is high enough LOL
EDIT: if you don't want stock then find a rom that is compatible with ext2 system file conversion.

All I want is a overstock kernel that will work bionix v any suggestions please?????

It is very simple, you get the cwm flashable kernel and simply use cwm to flash it like you would your rom
Edit: as keggerdude said try the overstock kernal, you will get great results without the headaches.
I run bionix 1.3.2 with overstock and absolutely love it
try overstock 2.4.1 works great with trigger 3.01
Were can I get this kernel??? Link please..again im new to this. ..

Post Quadrant Standard Scores Here

Anyone think they have the fastest s2 out there? Post up a screenshot of quadrant standard edition benchmarking scores!

Here ya go...NeatRom stock speeds using AJK kernel
Highest score i got was 4833 using MiniNote ROM stock speeds but I didn't screenshot it, I wish I did...
I enjoy running benchmark tests for each ROM that I flash. Also lot of dev's will say these scores mean nothing...
Sent from my SGH-i777 using xda premium
The scores mean something, but they don't represent performance based on everyday use. That's why most people say they're useless.
