is there any way to start the two way call recorder once the phone call has been initiated? i don't see any options to do such.
additionally, for some reason the option "delay for outgoing calls" is grayed out. might there be a reason for this?
thanks in advance

My understanding is that you need to have the recorder active, and then all calls will just be recorded. I also have that option greyed out, I think it was active in 1.6 or maybe 1.6.1 for me, but I Don.t have it in 1.6.3. I did mess around with stuff in 1.6.2, but did not completely wipe before flashing 1.6.3 so it my be that I messed something up... It works though so I haven't worried about it too much. I have notices that recording only works in both directions with BAMF or control freak kernels. When I tried a leanKernel it only recorded in one direction but again that might have been a result of something I did when fooling about in 1.6.2.
When the call connects it starts recording. Not when it's ringing but when the person receiving the call answers it.
Mah BAMF Thunderbolt
I have not been able to get this working on BAMF 2.0 roms so I am considering going back to 1.6....Glad to hear it is still working on Froyo.

Is anyone else seeing an issue where they frequently can't hear the caller when receiving a call, but the other person can hear you? I'm seeing this very often (almost every call I receive, about 7-8/10), not every call, but most. It never happens on outgoing calls. I've rooted and applied the update.zip to fix the GPS. Come to think of it, I've only noticed it since applying the update.zip. Perhaps undoing that would remedy it. Just thought I'd check if anyone else has seen a similar issue
I know it sounds silly, but are you sure your voice call volume is up? Try pressing the volume up button while in a call to see if that works.

That was of course, the very first thing I checked. I usually just hang up and immediately call the person back after first explaining that I cannot hear them. Good suggestion, but I'm fairly certain that's not my problem.
Then to be honest, I'm not sure. You may want to try to wipe back to stock, but that is a little extreme.

Just wanted to bump this post, as this happens on almost every call I receive... it's not volume, it's not google voice (which I suspected) because it happens on a direct dial to my cell #... and it happens inconsitently (one call I can't hear, they call back and I can).
The only common denominator is that they can always hear me.
Right now I'm running Trigger 3.2 with Bali 1.8.8uv kernel
Try muting and unmuting when this happens, it may very well solve the issue
sent from the xda app on my android smartphone.
Perhaps a problem with your speaker?
Maybe you have an intermittent problem with your speaker? Although it really doesn't sound like it since you can call back immediately and hear them.
Just a thought. I recently had to replace the back speaker in my phone.

If you can hear them through a headset (not BT for testing purposes) then you have an earpiece issue and should have it (the earpiece) replaced. If your problem does not change with or without a headset then it could be a rom or interfering app issue. I would back up and flash back to stock to see if it still happens. That will tell you what to do from there.
I am a Samsung Fascinate, rooted, running a Voodoo kernel SuperClean 2.9.1 rom. (android 2.2)
The phone makes the call, and is silent as if it isn't connecting. The person on the other end picks up as if it was ringing normally. It happens most of the time but not always. I find that if I redo the call it will "ring" in my ear the second time I place the outgoing call.
I use the stock dialer.
I bumped this in the Nexus forum before making this post, but I come here hoping for a resolution.

Anyone know what is causing this?
So, with the stock root rom, with a few different roms, and even with different kernels and radios, I don't ever receive incoming calls (though if I make an outgoing phone call, it works just fine).
Anyone know if this is something I can fix? Or is it an issue on Verizon's side? They had to go through three 4G SIM cards before finding one that my phone could actually activate with, so I'm wondering if that's the problem.
Did you set up call forwarding? Try calling *73 as this disables all calls to be forwarded, and try again.
You know what? I think you might be right... before I got my Thunderbolt, I had an OG Droid set to forward calls to a different temporary number...
My phone is going through a restore right now, so the INSTANT it boots up, I'll be dialing *73.
EDIT
VICTORY! It must have kept the call forwarding on the line. Thank you SO MUCH.
you're welcome.
I'm new to Rooting. But I recently succeeded in ROM'ing Team Whiskey's Bionix Nextgen V2 (Froyo). I downloaded it and installed it via ROM Manager. I enjoy many aspects of this ROM, but I recently noticed that all incoming calls are automatically sent to Voice Mail (via AutoReject or AutoForward). And I see no sign that a call came in which I missed. I have no problem making outgoing calls.
When I put my SIM into my old phone I could make AND receive calls fine. So my cellphone service provider (Orange Israel) concluded that the problem is in my phone and not with them. Have any other Nextgen V2 users had this problem? Is there something in Settings that I need to change?

Update:
I had Eclair and finally ROM'd my phone. After ROM'ing Team Whiskey's Next Gen v2 I noticed that when I got in incoming call my phone did not ring or vibrate and was automatically sent to voicemail. So I changed to Br1ck'd ZenDroid 2.0.1 and everything was fine for a while. Then I finished restoring all my apps and now I have the same problem again. What app or setting could do this?
I don't think it's anything in the Settings / Call Settings. I've checked that well.

I need a normal Froyo ROM AND a phone that RINGS when I get a call. What do you suggest?
My girlfriends phone is having the same issue on bionix nextgen. If you figure it out please let me know. She does not miss all her call it is just sometimes.
I've had issues receiving calls when listening to music. The music doesn't stop and calls will go to VM.
My phone was originally Eclair but I finally ROM'ed it with Team Whiskey's Next Gen v2. I was happy with that until I noticed that when I got an incoming call my phone did not ring or vibrate; the incoming call was automatically sent to voicemail. So I changed to Br1ck'd ZenDroid 2.0.1 and everything was fine for a while. Then I finished restoring all my apps and now I have the same problem again. What app or setting could do this?
I usually have a good cell phone signal, so I don't think that's the problem.

I don't understand what the problem is. I need this phone to work correctly. Do you have any suggestions?

First, you may wish to ask the people who made the ROM on their own forum, in the thread made for the ROM.

That being said, the differences between the most current Froyo ROMs, in my experience (Zendroid, Bi-Winning, Project V, Toxic7, Toxic8, Bionix, Trigger) tend to be rather minor (to a layman like myself at least. The coding may be drastically different, but the day to day operation is very similar) apart from theming which can vary widely. If Team Whiskey doesn't have an answer for you, or can't reproduce your problem, you may want to simply switch to a different Froyo ROM. I've personally had good experiences with Zendroid (minimalist) and Toxic7 & 8 (excellent theming)
Help, I tried to "go backwards". I was on I was on Zendroid 2.0.1. which wasn't working. I thought that "Restoring" to the first ROM Manager Backup (Nandroid?) which I created would take me back to Factory Stock. Now all I get it the "Bali" sunset "splashscreen" and I can't get beyond that. Is this phone bricked? Noooooo, it can't be. What do you suggest I do?

I had this exact problem on an evo 4g, it was Google Voice.
I have never set up Google Voice on my vibrants so I don't know if that is what the problem is for you.
/insert rant about restoring apps and then complaining about how something doesn't work.
I can't stress enough how much less drama you will have with your phone if you quit trying to restore apps from a backup.
I put a post up for this and it seems like no one replied. So I am wondering if anyone would be able to help me with this. I have it setup with sipbri it allows me to have my google voice account on sipbri and it lets me make calls but anytime I try to call all I get is my voice mail after it rings so many times. Am I doing something wrong or is it that the recieving calls part doesn't work right on Inferior Human Organs Cyanogen Mod 7.1?
Anybody? Well I actually got it working not sure what the issue was. I have a different rom it is CM7.1.0.1-VM670-BobZhome-111311 and it appears to be working fine. I just had to make a call on the internet call then after that I tried to call the number and I recieved it each time I called it. Seems like I have little to no delay either as people I talk to respond to me fine and can understand me fine.
