Fast Disclaimer: If you brick your device by doing something bad, or some wrong step, I'm NOT gonna help you
Ok, let's do this fast, if you're having Insane battery Drain, and you've tryed everything, do this:
1. Add this lines to hw_config.sh
Code:
#Drain battery fix
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock0 /system
chmod u+s /system/bin/charger
mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock0 /system
2. Charge 100% your Device
3. Reboot into xRecovery, and go advanced-> Wipe Battery Status
4. Let it full drain
Enjoy your damn nice device with more battery life
Thanks to Owain94 for making this ...

Ed: Done

Testing Now!!!

I'm also trying this as well, hope this fix my problem.. Heck, my phone can't even last for 2 days at 100% battery

Can i use it on Stock 2.1 also or only CM?

@tejagamer: Stock roms have not Charger Problems, don't you read on title "For Cyanogenmod" ?
@Everyone: please dont spam on this thread asking "How can i do, my battery drain so fast.. bla bla bla", this should fix a bug, but if you use wifi+gps+100% brightness+music+browser, certainly it will drain fast!

Hey,can anyone help to me how to this? Step by step. And what we need to add that line? Sory im new at this thing

Orry for my bad english

Hi, Tried wiping battery stats on xRecovery but after that when the phone reboots, the phone gets into a bootloop.. I don't know if my phone has problems or this one? Is this compatible with MiniCM7?
Sorry for my bad english

Hey there are two config files-:
1. /etc/hw_config.sh
2. /system/etc/hw_config.sh
So to which i make these changes.Pls help!!!

Dark, I just wanted to let you know that lithium-ion batteries don't feel to good with completely draining them. There have been reports of people's batteries dying because of completely discharging them. I think you should only drain it to like 1-2%.
Depletion below the low-voltage threshold (2.4 to 2.8 V/cell, depending on chemistry) results in a dead battery which does not even appear to charge because the protection circuit (a type of electronic fuse) disables it

Click to collapse
I dunno if modern batteries have some sort of security precaution to not let it drop down to under the low-voltage threshold, but I would not completely drain my lithium-ion battery just in case.

i dont know for other program:/ but u can copy your hw_cofing.sh to sdcard and edit it with pc using word pad.when u edited copy back to system/etc and then set permissions to rw-r-r--

If you don't have root explorer, you can log in with adb shell, become root (su -) and type:
mount -o remount,rw /system
Yes, it's basically the same as what you're about to put in hwconfig.sh: it remounts the file system r/w.

After u replace the framework you need to wait for 5mins or more after boot animation.this waiting only takes place the first reboot after replaceing framwork.
i must waiting to mini power off (battery gone die) and repair sys via Seus because this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749438 option don't work in my x10 mini ;/

Little help with framework-res.apk

Im looking to take a go at some theme making / startup shows. Ive done some looking but I can't find a definitive guide on pulling the framework-res.apk. I have found some how-too on modifying the files contained inside but most assume you already have a pretty solid understanding of abd. Mine is basic so if someone was willing to right out the abd commands for pulling it, backing it up (im guessing just a right click and copy), and then putting the original / modified (if different) back in, it would be much appreciated.
Not much in the line of themes for the Streak so far, so although it take me a while, im willing to do some work.
Any help is appreciated.
Ok I have been looking around and since no one has provided any info/insight ill post what ive found here and perhaps "someone" could be kind enough to just verify.
Pulling "framework-res.apk":
adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk
Pushing "framework-res.apk":
adb shell remount rw
adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
I also found this code for remount (not sure which is more appropriate?):
adb shell mount -o rw /dev/block/mtdblock1 /system
Also has anyone tried using this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737526
i was looking to change the bootscreen and in the process i found 'rootexplorer' together with z4root working great. you can copy the files to sdcard (i use usb, but bluetooth or wifi works also) and from there to the system dir.

yeah same here.. information sharing is limited to helpdeskfunctionality nowadays lol
the method i used works great and doesnt require a pc to use. the adb commands should be fine i guess.remount the dir should do. im not to sure about the block remount. you can remount system in adb with :
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock6 /system
after some fiddling i found out that bootanimations installer for droid x works good.
You don't neccessarily need a knowledge of ADB to theme. You could just open up Steve's ROM, edit what you want and sign it again (each .zip inside the update.zip must be signed also).
Then you just flash it through recovery.

yu, but i think its more handy to just copy the file over with rootexplorer, for testing. the end-product can then be implented in the update if required , the way you describe it.
Ok sounds good. Ill give it a try tomorrow if I have some down time at work. Cant wait to get to work on something for this beast.

Code:

chmod 777 /sys/devices/platform/leds-pm8058/leds/button-backlight/brightness
echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/leds-pm8058/leds/button-backlight/brightness
chmod 444 /sys/devices/platform/leds-pm8058/leds/button-backlight/brightness
mount -o ro,remount /dev/block/mmcblk0p29 /system

hm... for turn the button backlight off, i use screen filter, put it on 100% and kill the back light. voila. you don't have to do anything beside that, and the best part is, you can turn it back on.
use the init.post_boot.sh in this zip should disable all the button lights completely. given that you have perm root, this method is permanent until you restore the files or nand restore.
Dont forget to set the permissions to 644

Sorry, I thought you were talking about center clock. Well try again, it is a tricky job, and is easy to make mistake in the process. In CM settings there is option bottom statusbar so the notification icons are down . I will also try to apply the tweak, if it works will share.
Well, seeing a thread with this name I thought to just join in rather than openning a new one well, I downloaded xUltimate, pulled and deodexed the apks and....now what ? I assume I have to switch the original system files with these new ones, but how ? Sorry for the nooby question
create 2 folder on sdcard, in first copy deodexed file from /system/app, in second from /system/framework then boot in recovery, mount system and sdcard run adb and replace file in /system/app and /system/framework. After that use adb to remove .odex files form /syste/app and /system/framework.
Code:
adb shell
su
cp /sdcard/(noame of the folder)/*.* /system/app/
cp /sdcard/name of the folder)/*.* /system/framework
rm /system/app/*.odex
rm /system/framework/*.odex
reboot
If i miss some command make somebody corect me.

battery percentage for ICS 4.0.4

For ICS 4.0.4 here is two mods battery percentage(circle and rectangular);instructions:
copy systemUI in system/app with permision RW-R-R and then reboot.
Your phone must be rooted.
PS:systemUI is for circle and systemUI(R) is for rectangular;if use rectangular delete(R) the files must be systemUI.
UPDATE:new mod named android is systemui(A)
Thank You !
What the SystemUI(R) ?

I sent a pm to explain.
Oddly enough when running this, from time to time it will revert back to the stock battery, then back to the modded one.
When I tried skyfir123 versions in his thread it doesn't do that.
Can you fix that? Cause I much prefer the R version you have to anything else.

Everything else was fine. I suppose I could try the pre-rooted version w/o a wipe and see if it improves anything.
