On my home screen I have the "Digital clock" widget running.
Sometimes it shows a wrong (random) time, although the time showing in the topbar (notification area) is right.
Anyone know why this is or how to fix?
Maybe it is related with the "clear memory" function in the task manager as I do this often and seems to reload all the widgets when done.
baseband: XXKDJ
kernel: XWKE1
build: XWKE1
standard out of the box, non rooted.
It happened to me too. The time just froze. I tried to see if it is connected to the Clear Memory, but it is not. So I simply downloaded another clock widget and replaced it
This happened to me after I started using Launcher Pro.
If I removed and re-added the widget, it would be fine for a while before freezing again.
Try Simi Clock... its great!
I had the same problem as stated in another thread, so I unchecked the automatic provided values from network and its been fine since then

Thank you very much for this suggestion, i'm gonna try this out right away.
Yeah I also have this problem and I just remove widget and re add, it's nothing major though.
Will try disabling automatical provided values as the other poster suggested, afterall you only need it once to set up the clock

Just re add the widget?
that's what i thought too, but it's not in the widget list......i went back and did everything all over again, got what i was looking for. but as soon as i reboot, it says "problem loading widget" so i remove that, go to add widget and boom, not there. i attached a pic of what i had. but, like i said, once i reboot, it's gone
reinstall pandora possibly may help
If your on a Froyo rom the app needs to be stored on your phones internal memory. If the app is in the sd card the widget will dissapear from the home screen and the long press menu.
Unistall the app.
Go to settings cyanigen mod settings
Select applications
Select automatic instead of external
Thus the way the widget apps go to internal memory and will be there when you reboot.
Download the app again and you shoul be good.

EDIT: 1/18/12 update fixed it

I've had this issue too this morning. The clock at the bottom of the screen was stuck on the time I sentries bed last night. Only thing that would update it was turning the screen around. A reboot fixed it. Hmmmm.

Don't Kill processes with Asus Task Manager
I had the same issue. I used the Asus Task Manager to clean all processes. It looks like this also kills the clock process. A reboot and not using the task manager fixed it for me.
something that also worked for me was to go to
settings > date&time > and disable automatic date & time, see it it works

this is why 99% of the clock issues exist.
task managers are BAD for android, why asus would include one and let it kill all open processes is beyond me.
Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my HTC time and weather widget. It hadn't done it before until I updated my stock with goodies Rom recently. The weather shows unable to display current weather. But when I click it the thing updates . I set the settings to show real time weather location and restarted the phone but it still does it.
Any suggestions ?
no one?
Anyone have the same problems?
Did you try setting a specific city? You might want to try and make sure it can update for just one place for a few days before you try to make it figure out where it's at on its own.
still not working
Hey any other ideas? It's still acting funny
like someone mentioned before, try setting a city under the weather settings instead of having locate you. if that fails to work, try changing your sync options in the settings menu.
you might wanna check if you location thing is off ..
i turned mine off once and noticed the weather crap wasnt updating or finding anything ...then i went back into settings and turned it back on ..and BOOM i was good again .
Hello, I installed the app after receiving my beta key and I have to say this is the best app I have installed yet. I'm just having a few issues. The first is that whenever I set the weather widget to display the temperature in celcius is always changes back to fahrenheit after a few minutes. Secondly sometimes, not always whenever I reboot my phone no widgets will load so I have to reapply the theme. These aren't big problems and I know the app is still in beta, so these are bound to get fixed. Just wondering if there is anyway to fix them.
Thanks:fingers-crossed:
I can't even get the weather working, I did set up my location on the widget settings but it shows nothing at all.
Same goes for me. I think Ill wait for the next update.
Try saving as widget after finish changing. Auto save seems not working properly.

Im having some refresh issue's.
Using the calendar widget, it shows todays date, however Ive noticed it hasnt updated today, and still shows todays date as yesterdays
Also, using the missed calls, unread text etc, I replied to a text, and the counter stayed at 1. it eventually went to 0, not sure when, but I was using my phone for a good 30 mins or so, and the counter never changed.
The weather thing isn't that big of an issue, but the widgets disappearing after reboot is really annoying. I have a Nexus 4 and after reboot it asks me if I want to allow themer to create widgets. Even If I choose allow it will never create them again, so I have to reapply the theme.

In an upcoming version (very soon) we have put the weather temperature setting within the main Settings of the app, so that issue will be resolved.
Widgets
Widgets dissapearing for me also on a reboot, I dont want to re-apply the theme as a workaround, as I have made changes, and if I apply the theme again, I assume it will overwrite my changes with the default theme I am going to apply again?
Please help ... My widgets stop updating after deep sleep {if my phone screen is of for about an hour}
I have added the widget app in ignore battery optimization and enabled auto start and run in background in battery optimization .. still the widget stops updating ..
Any help is appreciated
there is a reason the battery is so good. the phone is basically shutting down when idle. You need to go in tot the settings and exclude the app/widget from the battery optimisations.
as i stated before , i did remove it from the battery optimizations but still the widget stops working after sometime

Sorry, there must be an associated process that is sleeping. Have you tired removing all battery optimization for a while just to check? Might be worth emailing the Dev. They may know what is happening.
ill try that ,,, thanks for the idea , ill report back .
i disabled all battery optimizations , still the widget stops updating after some time , the strange thing is that the widget has manual refresh button , but after some time that button also disappears check the picture below

I tried that app for myself. Doesn't update automatically for me as well. However other widgets that auto updates frequently works fine. So it should be a fix to be done by the app developer for this specific app.

What firmware are you running on the phone?
The latest from huawei 8.0.0.115
I have another problem .. some times when i switch on the screen everything changes to very small even the navigation bar icons .. its like the resolution changes and everything will be small .. ill.post a screenshot when it happens again .. a workaroung i go to screen resolution and change from hd to fhd then back to hd and the icons and text comes back to normal size
I have the widget problem as well (on .115, C636). I'll report back if I find a solution.
I also have the widget problem on my ALP-L29 ".115 (c636)" and it's really bugging me!
Whichever phone I use, I set up the BBC News and BBC Sport pages as two full screen widgets to the left of my home screen. They're great apps/widgets which means everything I need to know is one or two swipes away.
After sleep, neither will refresh anymore. The sport widget actually has a manual refresh button but now the icon is just constantly spinning as if it's trying to constantly refresh.
Any help at all would be much appreciated.
These widgets were fine on my Mate 9.
115 C636. I have calender agenda widget which does not update automatically like it used to.
Same here.
Weather widget and News widget are working fine, BUT i tried 5 different calendar widgets from store and none of them did work (no refresh).
BLA-L29 8.0.0.115 (C432).
Did not have any problems on my former Mate 9.
Must be an Oreo thing. I contacted the developer of my calendar widget so let's hope he can fix it.
I am afraid to say that, but i contacted the developer of my widget also and he answered, that the widget is working fine with Oreo (Emulator).
I think it could be a problem with EMUI 8. Not sure, but i think at the beginning of the Mate 9 there were similar problems, that some notifications didnt work.
That was fixed with an update from Huawei.
Bad news so far folks, have updated to ".119 (c636)" via Funky Huawei and still no fix for both the widget problem and the issue of not being able to perform some actions from the notification shade (like delete Gmail emails).
Really hope this is fixed with next update or I may be tempted to get rid. Unacceptable for a 2017, Oreo phone!
---------- Post added at 07:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:14 PM ----------
By the way, I tried the same widgets with Nova Launcher and got the same problems. So it's something in Emui 8 or Huawei's version of Oreo that's causing the issues, not the stock launcher.
@Hymastar
Did you inform Huawei about this bug?
My developer of my troublesome widget says it works fine too. He thinks it must be EMUI killing the task in the background and not allowing it to run properly.
Hi, had a breakthrough of sorts!
I switched back to the standard/stock launcher and tried the option with no app drawer i.e. default setting.
Took me a while to organise all my apps into Huawei's fiddly little folders (can't stand icons everywhere!) BUT the widgets are working fine!
Just to clarify, the widgets in question are from the BBC News and Sport apps which I always use as full page screens to the left of my home page.
So, I'll stick with the non-app drawer launcher for now, but it doesn't really solve the problem as I much prefer having an app drawer... @Hudrator I wouldn't know how to go about contacting Huawei?
Forget the above post, after 12hrs or so (maybe a deep sleep) the widgets are once again failing to update regardless of home screen style.
Thought I had found a temporary fix...
