Alright guys, hey.
I am currently using an official stock ROM 2.2.2. I don't have any recoveries and stuff on it, it's just like the one you get when you buy it. So I'm just asking if you guys could help me out on a way to go on a Streakdroid 1.9.0
Also; I'm quite skeptical of upgrading/flashing my phone cuz I don't want it bricked. If you need any more info, just say it
You can get streakdroid installed for sure. However u need to do a lot of reading about installing streak recoveries, fastboot and so on.
There are some really good guides around here.
However there is always a chance u can brick.

Alright, after going through all the readings, I successfully managed to install Streakdroid on my Dell. However, it feels quite the same as the official ROM.
Also, what are the differences between Cyanogen mod and Streakdroid?
Thanks!
Unfortunately there are not many developers working on streak. This is the best we have got.
This may sound like a dumb question. Do you have 1.9.0 installed or just the streakmod recovery?

I firstly installed Streakmod Recovery ( I used MultiRecovery, you just start the program on the computer and choose which recovery you want, install instructions are there ) and then installed Streakmod 1.9.0 using the Streakmod Recovery and flashing the .zip file on my SD card. It's that simple actually. The first boot took a little time to load, I was getting panicked, and then it started to boot up. It's a lot faster then the stock rom.
Ok sounds like you are there.
You will notice all the crapware is gone.
You should notice things are a bit smoother.
Also you are now rooted.

Hello all, I'm hoping I can get some help. I cannot get passed stock recovery to Clockwork recovery. I am rooted and have done this many times so I know that you have to reinstall packages to get there, sometimes twice, but I have done it repeatedly and it keeps going back to stock recovery. Any ideas?

Maybe install ROM Manager and reflash the ClockworkMod Recovery?
You may need to check if you are indeed rooted check by manually going into Download mode, if that works you may need to reflash CWM, if not then you may need to reroot the phone
I've tried going though rom manager and it takes me to the same stock recovery. Reinstalling packages isn't working. I used Odin, went back to stock, used samsung kies mini to update to Froyo, Super one click root, and then 3e recovery. I'm not sure if I'm musing something but I've fine all of this before and had no issues until now.

I'm also having a problem with this, but it didn't start until after I flashed CM7 for Vibrant. Now the i9000 boot up goes before the Vibrant one, as well as not being able to get into CMW.
I finally got into recovery, had to reinstall packages about 45 times. Thanks for the help anyway

Hi people
The support for the streak is crap. not enough people chipping in on making it as good as it can be. im in the middle of trying to port over themes to the streak so we can all have a better looking experiance. but for some reason after flashing nothing apears to show. even when editing the res of the original rom package and installing the rom again the changed pngs dont show up? the strangest thing is the one i deleted are showing up? dj_steve hasnt been online and im impatiant so is there anyone else who may have a answer to this
I would like to see Streakmod Recovery working properly without having to jump through hoops just to get a nandroid backup to work.
Why dont you just install other one lol

I just had my first try at nandroid, running streakmod, 1.9.0 with 351bb and it was finished within 3 minutes, no issues.

He is referring to bb 347 btw... so your post means nothing to him.
Ok, here's an overview of things for those unwilling to read the Streakmod Recovery thread.
I upgraded from 347 to 351 without a hitch. This includes the baseband. Streakmod Recovery hangs at fastboot but is otherwise functional. This is apparently a common issue with Streakmod, and one the developer I believe is unlikely to fix.
Clockworkmod's menu screen appears if you have the right version, but you cannot select anything. Clockworkmod force closes and reboots the phone. Other versions result in a black screen, requiring you to pull the battery to restart the phone.
The only solution given was to essentially put Streakdroid on the phone and then flash over that with 351. That's not a solution, but a workaround. Not acceptable either because as I made clear to the person who proposed this solution, I shouldn't be required to put something I don't want on my phone to get something I do want.
Any questions?

hello all. i was running the stock at&t 2.2 build 15697 version 331 and hated how slow the phone was running. i was trying to downgrade back to the at&t 1.6 so that i can flash over to streakdroid 1.9.0. there were no instructions on the net on how to downgrade from 2.2 build 15697 to 1.6 and so i tried following the direction from the Guide to Upgrading and Downgrading the Streak thread. doing that bricked my phone and now im stuck on the dell logo boot up screen. tried flashing the recovery for build 15697 using fastboot and still no go. can someone please help me out. been searching for about 4 hours now and no help anywhere on the net. thanks in advanced everyone.
You don't need to downgrade to 1.6 in order to get 1.9.0. Where did you read that was required?
Just flash streakmod recovery, put the streakdroid zip on the sd card, same with install.txt, and follow the rest of posted directions.

i was following the directions on the upgrade/downgrade guide thread. i was under the impression that i needed to flash to O2 os.
thanks for the info...ill let you know if it works.
If you are not sure how to do the flashing of the recovery there is a tool that can be used on your computer. Look for it in the streak dev sub forum.
It is call multirecovery tool. It has all the recoveries you would need. You would have to put the rom you want on the sd card and install it with the recovery.

Factory reset the phone with stock recovery. Flash streak mod recovery, clear all caches. Install 1.9.0 streakdroid.
Sounds like you just keep flashing roms on to of roms without doing resets or anything like that.

what if im having a hard time gettin into recovery mode?
I'm sorry but i couldnt find anything about it.
So, basically my question is: Is it actually compatible with the XT720 and, if so, what model should i pick when i try to install clockworkmod recovery?
(The XT720 option is absent.)
I'm currently using dexter's froyo and planning on trying out a few other ROMs so ROM manager would be quite nice to have.
Thanks in advance.
It can run this but its dangerous to use it advice stick to open recovery.

OK, thanks.
Is it normal to be stuck on system dumping for more than an hour while making a backup? The media LED is blinking the whole time.
I'm doing it with open recovery, as adviced
Soo I tried again after an hour and a half of waiting and another half hour after that, the result - two 3.5MB files... I gave up and decided to go ahead and install CronosX-RC1-br301-g but openrecovery just sais there's nothing in the cronosx folder, i try to restore all, and basically nothing happens. After rebooting dexter's froyo is intact so i'm going to bed and hoping somebody will help
What Open recovery are you using.

1.46, if i understand right. it's system recovery in app drawer, which kinda puts me off
Install open recovery apk then open install open recovery system and boot in to recovery.
