Ok I'm rooted on stock rom. Is there a file that updates the radio and rom from hboot keeping basically stock root? Sorry if it's been asked, search function in the xda app just doesn't seem to find it.

Noob question. Can you accept the ota with s-off or will it cause issues or possible brick? I haven't had my tbolt very long and it was already modified when I bought it.

You can accept it, but then you will lose root.

Yea it has been disabled on the Rom I'm running, I was just curious if it would cause problems if I took the update. I'm still learning the ins and outs of rooting. But I understand what your saying, I've seen some time that the ota push was not disabled.

I believe it will fail at the bootloader stage when it encounters a non-stock recovery.
I'm running stock n all I did was flash stock recovery via boot loader then download n install the ota, then flash cwm recovery via bootloader then flash the su zip then boom rooted ota

Do you have a link for the stock recovery? All the links I've found are dead or will not download. Sorry. Thank you in advance

Googling stock recovery did nothing for me. I loaded killa sense 3.7, flashed the ota enable zip, but no luck. Error. I guess that elusive stock recovery is needed.

Is your bootloader locked? Do you have a custom recovery installed? You must have a locked bootloader and not have flashed a custom recovery.. In other words bone stock

How do I go back to stock. I have custom recovery and I'm unlocked

So I upgraded phones and I want to use my aria for mp3. I'm getting an error flashing back to FR008. I found a post saying to downgrade the CWM.. Anyone know if there's a guide? Should I just unroot and re - root?
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Try using ROM Manager to install recovery. It should have the old version (2.5.*)
That did the trick. Thank you too much.

Just flash cf root again
already tried it, no do
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Flash a pre rooted stock rom (won't lose your data and you will have root)
do you have a link with instructions?
and also, will i be able to update?

I'm running the latest CM10.1 and was wondering how exactly I could update my firmware to 3.16 with the new touch panel version (which I hear is much better and more precise) how would I update it? Would I lose root and have to reroot? Would it wipe my ROM?

You do not need to unroot your phone, and you will not wipe any data from your phone. You must be S-off to update firmware, however.

Just to be sure, I would just download the whole zip, rename and flash? I was thinking I would have to delete the recovery file it gives for the stock version them flash?

Download the file you wish to flash. Rename it PJ75IMG.zip (make sure you don't have an extra .zip extension on the end or it will fail). Put the file on the root of your external SD card. Reboot to the bootloader. If the bootloader doesn't look for the file automatically, select the option to reboot bootloader. Follow the on-screen prompts to update, then reboot once you're done
