have a way to install the new gTalk on CM7 for Mini Pro?
I would like to know it also, somebody?
I tried install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056793, it's installed alright, but the problem is I can't make any voice/video calling with this gtalk, I can see my friend status it show speaker/video icon, but when I tap this speaker/video icon it's blank and then FC.
I don't know is it my device (x10mini running nAa minicm7) not support gtalk voice/video call or something that I miss?
Has anyone tried this?

Hi,
My Galaxy S2 is unrooted and it is running Android 2.3.3.
What app do I need to video call over Wi-Fi? I've tried Skype and Google Talk but I cannot find this option?
Do I have to update to Android 2.3.4 to enable video calling via Skype or Google Talk?
Many thanks for your help.
Correct..... in theory you should be on 2.3.4 to use video on google talk, however, you can install a custom rom (needs root) to have this on google talk feature, I dont think you can use google video feature without root at this time in moment until 2.3.4 is released..
I use rom "lightning" that has this feature, never used it tho because everyone I know doesnt have it ..
Also what was not mentioned:
Skype on Android does not yet support video calling (except for the htc thunderbolt).
Currently you have two good options I think:
- Root your phone. Then either apply a custom rom that already has the latest google talk app included that supports video calling or install the latest google talk app yourself (without custom rom).
- Try out Tango. Among the video calling apps that are available on Android this seemes to deliver one of the best video quality. Alternatively you can give Fring a try.
Skype has video calling with the samsung galaxy s2.
Open Skype, Then touch the menu button on the phone, press settings, then scroll down to Video calls and check Eneble video calling and adjust the setting for it.
It works, I use it. Enjoy.
Using gtalk on my tablet (android 3.2) I can videochat. If I install a custom rom on my Mini Pro based on android 2.3.x, will I be able to use gtalk to call? Videochat is not needed if I can just place calls with gtalk it would be a win for me.
It is something I can do with skype at the moment, but I would prefer to go over to gtalk.
I am looking for a solution for it too, but I can tell you with the custom rom you cannot use it by default. Fring can be a solution.
So no gtalk videocall for miniPro?
gtalk with voice support

galaxy ace doesn't support voice enabled gtalk for now
so chill .....
Anyone know how to make video calls for gtalk work? I am using miuiv4 from 360 productions. The option for video is there but whenever I try to use video call in gtalk, gtalk force closes
That's because you need a front camera for GTalk to work. Seeing as Vibrant doesn't have one, you may have to edit some files in order for it to get going. Although, I'm not sure which files those are.
Yeah I figured. I had it working on miui 2.3.3 on my vibrant . Not sure how to make it work on ICS
I'm running CM7, and when I open Google Talk I don't have the option for voice or video chat.
Google says video chat works for 2.3.6 and up, and CM7 is 2.3.7.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks
