[Q]improve Flashlight brightness - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys
Is there a way to improve the brightness? Torch etc. works perfect, but i like the HTC flaslights. I.e. the LED hardware from HTC wildfire is identic with X10, but it is much brighter than on x10.
Any ideas?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App

are you looking for flashlight i.e. camera flashlight or display brightness control
Note: although i don't know both either however placed question to get clarification so that someone more knowledgable can answer you.

I mean the camera flashlight.I would try to make it brighter like on the HTC phones.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App

nt sure about the config file however you can check there is an application named torch which allows you to control the flash light.
also if you are on 2.2 ROM camera flash won't work atleast as far as i know.

No, i mean config script in framework. In cm6 by wolf, the flashlight works (vignette and torch). I would like to increase the brightness in system, like the htc phones. There is the led much brighter than x10 (i.e. Wildfire). I know that there is script for brightness, but i cant find it. Early releases of froyo roms have all low bright leds. Thats be fixed in later released roms. That is what i am searching for...

I dont mean the app, i wrote above what i mean. I mean the general brightness of x10 led flash. Not an app. Somewhere in the framework is the config file(i think so). The brightness is not enough, i want more

The only thing i dont use gb roms at this time is, i need the full working camera at work. Because of this i want to try the improving of brighness.
Is this in gb brighter as in froyo?

I've just tested CM7, but the brightness of Torch is the same as in CM6 by Wolf...
Please, can some Dev tell to me, where i can find the config script for camera Torch Led?

Yes, i tried the higher brightness option in the Torch app (i've the same one in CM6).
But it isn't stil bright enough for me. Do you know the Torch from HTC devices?
They are physicaly identical, so i think there is a way to optimize the brightness...

I have already written thats the Hardware of the is identic to HTC Wildfire, are you sure that there is no alternative? (Have you tried it?)

Moved to correct section
this was a question, therefore goes in Q&A section
if you had created an app that makes the led brighter then here would be the place to put it

Has nobody an answer?

FIX your screen wake up delay, and CRT glitch !

Hello "fresh" users !
I got the phone 2 days ago.
On the second day I root it, flashed custom rom.
Then I found two weird things:
1- Is screen delay.
2-Screen OFF animation glitch (CRT).
I wipe everything I can, I did full restore, back up, nothing help !
I try almost all roms, nothing help. (Only my stock and Lite'ning Rom work good)
The problem was "Kernel" (deep sleeping)
To FIX this problems: I recommended Ninphetamine kernel.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1172520
http://ninpo.qap.la/kernels/sgs2/ninphetamine-1.3/
Again this kernel FIX for me "delay" and "CRT" (1.4 only) (1.3 CRT issue detected)
This little HELP only for "beginners"....Be happy with your new device !
What do you mean by "CRT glitch"?
Always been working for me, no matter which kernel/ROM I was using

Now that you say that... I think I have it, mix of black and white stripes x_x and i'm using ninphetamine's kernel
No no no!
The only reason that version 1.4 has no wake lag is that it doesn't sleep, so you will get huge standby drain.
1.4 has debug code in it! Don't use it unless you are debugging crashes!
DONT USE 1.4!

of course i'm rooted too. i've tried all apps i know n even googled it in a while. unfortunately, nothing can solve this yet. i meant, do u know which file is associated to it so i can edit it by root explorer? it worked fine on CM 7.2.0 RC1. when i compared the file hw_config.sh i noticed no different values between them too. the only difference is it works on CM while it doesn't on X-ROM ICS (ported from official ICS by Sony). i hope i don't blabber.

Sony has no option to toggle auto brightness. That is why you are facing the consequences. Well, I know an app for that.
Use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hatcyl.android.Disable_Auto_Brightness&hl=en
That should work.
Hope this helps

Xperia ray only has a torch light for low light conditions, when using the Sony camera app you should have an icon (bottom left of screen when hold phone horizontally) for turning the torch on/off but it was never made to be a flashlight on our phones.

That's odd, maybe permission file is missing from /system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.camera.flash-autofocus.xml ??
Or how about the hw_config.sh file found in /system/etc take a look at the file and look for the following line: # sensor on/off. 1 = on, reg90h under this line you should have another line with the following text: echo 12900> $dev/torch/max-current. If its not there then try adding it. If you could release your rom as alpha I will take a look at it and see if I can help you find a fix

[Q] Xperia P toggle buttons jumbled

Hi..
I have a Xperia P (LT22i). Stock rom. build number 6.1.1.B.1.54. rooted. locked bootloader. froze some bloatware with Titanium Backup.
Recently I've noticed that, in settings WiFi/Bluetooth toggle buttons has jumbled. As you may know those are circular buttons. but now, its different.
I have attached a screen shot how its look like now..
I dunno how this happened..I did settings restore, but it didn't work. Tried to search a solution on the net, but no luck.. tried cleaning dalvik cache, it didn't work either.:crying:
this is very annoying thing for me...can anyone help me to get it back to original icon..?
