Im not able to install lots of apps n games on my x10mini v2.1, when im going to install it gives this message THERE IS PROBLEM PARSING PACKAGE. Plz tell me what to do? Urgent plz
is this stuff downloaded through the market, or obtained from the web?
If it's the latter, then there are a multitude of reasons why the app might not be compatible (e.g. requires froyo, or a larger screen)
Also, if you're installing downloaded apk's, what are you using? Most reliable method is to install a file manager from the market, put the apps on your sd card, and install them from within the file manager.
I tried it,i download app 4m applanet market n put in sdcard n tried to install but no use. Can any x10mini user able 2 install vplayer,app2sd etc apps if yes then whats problem with me? I also rooted my mobile by z4root. Plz help me experts.
Sorry 4 my weak english.

You are going to have to use Skyfire for flash content on the web. I use it to watch tv on the web but it does not work with all the sites.
ye i have used skyfire too but i dont want to use it for that
i want to try if i can play flashgames with it, i downloaded an app and it says i needed flashplayer.
i cant get flashplayer installed.
when i open it in astro open app manager it says 0 at filesize, data size and total size....
i had this problem too when i tried installing n64oid.
is this just because the phone cant run it or am i doing something wrong?

There is a version that will install in one of the XDA threads you will have to do a search to find it. I have used it on past builds. Tiad also posted a link to a Titanium backup file in one of his posts. I used this to install flashplayer. It is also included in several of his builds. Search there. I have it on FRX05 but it does not work through the browser for me. It does not do much of anything for what I can see. You will need to drop th .apk file in the android apps folder in winmo then boot into Android and it will install.
oke i am using frx04, so your saying i need an other flashplayer that i can find in this forum?
i go look for it.
only thing i saw was flash 10 still buggy in Tiads post, not a link or something usefull

I just installed flash player 10.1 (here) . First all filesizes where 0 but after the install, after a reboot and a soft reset, i checked the apps form the settings part. The size of FP10.1 was 12,5MB. Maybe it's good installed and you can use it.

Did you try to unzip and put the .apk file from the above link in the Android apps folder while you were in winmo. Then boot into Android and it should install automatically during boot.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled the above by dropping it in the Android Apps folder in winmo and it installed during the Android boot. When I go to manage apps in settings it is there. It does not load any flash content when I am in the browser but it is installed.
i think i got it installed now but the flashgameplayer still says it cant find flashplayer plugin.
I did my n64.apk in the androidapps map and it worked for that so i think it worked too for flashplayer only i cant see it.
thx for your help

I think the video drivers or the frame rate on our system is not able to utilize flash content at this time. I remember one of the Devs saying we might never get that far, but a lot of people were saying we couldnt get this far with Android on our phones.
Was hoping someone can give me some insight here because I am at a loss. I have tried countless times to get Gapps to work with Cyanogenmod 7 but the market nor any of the Google apps show up. The ROM installs fine but after flashing the Gapps package it doesnt show(yes I'm positive I'm using the right Gapps file) I have wiped everyting cache/data/dalvik, tried using the format.zip and nvflash to start with a fresh tab, that didn't work. I've tried installing Cyanogen 6 first, but for some reason that just results in a boot loop. If anyone has this problem or knows what the probelm could be it would be greatly helpful.
Thanks in advance for any help
After booting are you connecting to your WiFi access point?
Market doesn't show until you are connected to WiFi, then it will install the apps directly from the Market.
Yup Ive connected to WIFI, let the ROM run for a bit, restarted countless times. I just cant figure it out. I dont get the account setup screen either, it just goes straight into the ROM itself.
And after you connected to your WiFi did you open the app drawer and click on the Market to launch it?
At this point it should ask for your Google account, ask what Gapps from the market you want installed and then do it.
Thats the problem, the market icon doesnt exist for me to open, none of the google apps show up even though it installed successfully in clockwork.
None of the google apps will show up, though Market should, if you installed the Gapps package and are connected to WiFi.
The Gapps.zip just installs the Market and some of the supporting/needed libraries and files for accessing the Market (plus some other stuff).
Connected to WiFi, launching the Market initializes the Google sign in and the "other stuff" that lets you pick the Google Apps you want installed. It then downloads them from the Market itself.
EDIT:
What version of CM7 are you running and what Gapps package are you installing?

I installed 7.0.3 stable with the 20110307 gapps package.
I'm telling you nothing comes up to install market or any other google apps. I must have installed the ROM about 30 times now. Probably gonna end up being something stupid I'm leaving out.
Have both the Rom and Gapps on your device.
Boot in to Clockworkmod Recovery and do a factory reset, then advanced and wipe davlik cache
Install .zip from sdcard, choose the ROM and install, do NOT reboot.
Install .zip from sdcard, choose the Gapps and install
ReBoot device, connect to WiFi before doing anything else.
Market should appear when you open the app drawer. Launch it to continue.
It's been a while......but I walked my sister through it via email a few weeks ago back...

Ive tried this, it either results in a bootloop or just doesn't work but I'll give it another shot when I get home. Thanks
Try flashing a different rom along with gapps see if that works. If it does then reflash your CM7 rom along with gapps & retest, hopefully it works, if it doesn't maybe trying one of the nightly builds might work.
Did you pull the gapps file from the Cynogenmod website?
Gapps link: http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip
Getting same thing my self, so don't feel alone.
I am in the same boat. Have gone so far as to do a full NVFlash restore. Gapps will not show. Appears to install without error via recovery but it just isn't there. ARRRRRRRGH!!!!

The fix....eject any microSD cards you have in your device. Plug in usb. Copy update.zip to root. Enter CWM and flash update.zip. Since Cyanogen Mod messes up file structure for some reason external SD card becomes internal and tweaks the device out. If that does not work, nvflash and reinstall CM without an sd card in the device. Hope this helps.
Thanks fosser2...
What I did,
Pulled SD card
Loaded CWM update.zip and recovery folder/file
NVflashed as I was back running V5.1 again.
Vol + power to flash CWM
use CWM to flash CMod 7.0.3
then flashed Gapps
When Cmod loads, I now see the google account and ability to install all the gapps.
Thanks again, Now I can give this rom a spin. I really like Robeets HC, but it was not stable enough for everyday yet. V5.1 has bee running great, but the Netflix on GB brought me to GB.
Having same issue
I keep trying to install google apps but the market, gmail, etc, are not appearing on my screen. Not sure what I am doing wrong but I am having the exact same problem.
Help!
I tried to install Gmail.apk, and decided to use Root Explorer to copy it to /system/app. I changed the permissions, rebooted, and it is indeed in the folder where I left it, but nowhere to be seen in the app drawer. It doesn´t even appear on the manage applications. I want to this to more apps, but if I can´t do to one...
I tried signing the .apk and install it: gives me a parsing error;
I tried signing a .zip file and flash through xrecovery and managed to get the file in the system/app folder, but again, nothing on the app drawer.
I tried using ADB mask, and when I try to push the app into the system, it says it couldn´t install;
I tried command line, using SDK, but doesn´t recognize "adb" command. Tried console emulator, but permission denied.
Is it me or is my mobile picking up a fight with me? Can someone help?
Why dont you just try to download it from the market and install automatically that way?

Because it doesn´t appear on my market... And I also want to install more stuff, like the new blue market from pendo, so I would like to know what to do so I can continue to install more apps like this.
There will be a reason it doesnt appear in the market for you and that will be why you cant install it
WHat rom are you running?

I´m using EWJet with custom kernel, baseband 67.
Try flashing this
Reboot and login to market, accept the agreement.
Then flash this and this in that order without rebooting inbetween

Well it seems I need to do a fresh install, since I must have done something wrong to the system files... I flashed Gapps, and ever app appears except the ones from Google (Gmail, Gtalk, etc...). Is google against me today? =)
I think I´m going to flash the rom again and before rebooting, I´ll flash Gapps, what do you think?
Sounds like a plan....
let me know how it goes
No, it didn´t work... After clean install, and flashing gapps, gmail and market disappeared... Maybe some kind of incompability between the Rom and this market?
EDIT: It still appears in the /system/app... But it refuses to appear in the app drawer.
try adding the market widget to the home screen. Long press on it and n choose android widget.
That might work.

Thanks for your effort, but it doesn´t appear the market widget. It´s like the market is only a file that is filling space in the system folder, and that doesn´t have any connection to the rest. It seems this rom isn´t compatible with other markets (which is very weird...).
Thanks for the help. If someone comes up with a soltuion to my problem, I´ll be very happy to hear it.
The only thing I can think of its that you are trying to instal 2.2 versions into a 2.1 rom.
Try finding google apps from eric will's thread about his rom.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Yes I remembered that too, but didn´t know there was gmail and market that were different, meaning that what works in 2.2 may not work in 2.1... If that´s the case, I better give up, since there isn´t any other verion of blue market... Oh well, green it is.
If you flash back to stock with SEUS then make backups with titanium backup you should be able to restore the 2.1 versions of gmail.
As for blue market, I think that's just for 2.2+

Hello there.
I recived a brand new ViewPad 7e (the lowcost tab from ViewSonic) yesterday. Everything works fine (or, almost fine for that price...), but the 7e come without AndroidMarkets (nor Gmail apps, Google Account etc...). It's possible to use alternat market, but I'm looking to use the original one (and, most important, to set up a google account synchronysed with calendar) anyone got an idea to install that ? (I tried some trick for Archos etc... but nothing seems to work atm).
If somone got an idea... thanks in advance
My guess would be that it's missing the gapps framework, you can try installing the architecture independant gapps package from CM7, which "should" work.
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Latest_Version/Google_Apps
Well, it worked by installing the gapps manually, the last point will be to put the market 3.1.3 or so (for the moment I only have th old one), thx again for your help.
Where can I find how to install gapps manually
you said it's possible, where can I find the steps to install it manually?
Thanks

Hi, I also get a Viewpad 7e, and download the Google Apps from CM7
But I could not install in manually after I unpack the Google Apps package.
System will say it is an invalid APK.
Could you help to release the package you install and installing steps?
Thanks.

Guys, cm7 market would not work for our devices as it doesnot meet the criteria for having google market. Yes is ironic but for now we have to rely on the market we have. We have to wait till someone make cm7 work forr our viewpad.
there's a way but i need to translate it because its in chinese i got it it on mine
charlies1112, if you can, it would be really nice to explain how you did it.
Yesterday, I was able to root the viewpad 7e using Gingerbreak v1.20.
Thank you in advance
instructions for getting android market on the viewpad 7e
go download this file from this link:
dl.dropbox.com/u/34743606/v7e.zip
put those five files onto the micro sd card
Step 1:
settings>applications>unknown sources>tick it
settings>applications>development> USB debugging> tick it
Step 2:
Go to the inbuilt app ES File Explorer
find the GingerBreakv1.20.apk
install the GingerBreakv1.20.apk (I installed it on mine but it made my micro sd card useless i dunno what was with this but it still got gingerbreak on it it just made card die so use at your own risk =_= it still install it fine tho might of been a defect of a cheap card)
Root the device by going through the steps
When you complete the steps you should see Superuser in your applications
Go back to ES File Explorer
Find Root Explorer v2.14.2.apk
Install Root Explorer v2.14.2.apk
Click allow for permissions for the Root Explorer
Once you have Root explorer installed open it and fine the folder sd card
Press and hold the Vending.apk until the menu pops up and choose copy
go back to Root Explorer
go to system
go into app
on the top press Mount R/W
and then press the paste button on the bottom
Find where you pasted Vending.apk
Hold Vending.apk for the menu and press permissions
Make sure all the columns are ticked and select OK
once you get to this step you should see the market icon but you're not done yet you need to go through the same thing you did for Vending.apk for GoogleServicesFramework.apk and MarketUpdater.apk
and you should get it i'll paste the chinese website the author posted pictures
