to my understanding (have been trying to flash my phone for the last couple of days and it hasn't been working) you need to put the baseband into the folder with the firmware while your flashing? im not clear on this and think it might be the reason why flashing hasn't been working can someone please clear this up.
No. Put the baseband in the firmware folder. Then open up flash tool then click flash and select the baseband

HOW CAN I FLASH TO .49BB FROM .54?
i know the flashtool and i know how to use, but i don't know how to flash to .49? i think there is some files for .49BB?
and can some one upload the flashtool to mediafire for me? i can not open the http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G in my country.
and i also need X10i_2.0.2.A.0.24_Generic.ftf, but the link can not open. anyone has the FTF file can upload it to mediafire for me? Thanks.
If its for a custom rom, just search for the baseband patch thread in the development section.
If your on bb .54 right now with build number .435 and you use flashtool to change your bb to .49, that wont go over so well with your phone. The baseband has to be compatible with the build number.
So, if its just for a custom rom use the bb patch.

My phone is BB.54 and build number .435.
i'd like to use the BB patch only but it seems that it's useless for Trip MIUI 2.3.3. No radio after flashed the BB patch. So, i would like to flash the mobile to .49 totally.
you will have to download from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960527 then use flashtool> advanced> create bundle, select .sin files, then package them, ensure they are in the firmware folder and flash

Kindly read the sticky thread which links to a howto. (You cannot flash baseband via ZIP from recovery, so stop asking over and over again.)
You flash official rom and cook. So theres a new baseband.
Vice versa

I wonder why other phones can flash basebands through recovery while we can't. I've read somewhere that flashing a radio.img (which is pretty much the baseband) through recovery will brick our phone
can anyone please upload their android keyboard.apk from mik_os as i have by mistake uninstalled it using titanium backup..

I have some ideas to make it work on all rom
we can make our baseband by combining both
the difference between old and new baseband is just amss.mbn,amsshd.mbn,partition.mbn I liked to see what's this mbn contain I tried with unyaffsmbn but I can't
also if system.mbn can flash as system.img
then this basebands can also flash as radio.img
This is just an idea and maybe it's impossible for us.

Another way??
Modify the CWM Recovery to flash in the radio partition or wherever the radio files are placed... should be pretty hard but will work out an easy way...
We need to study the way LGMDP Tool operates and flashes the baseband and try to remake that process in the recovery...
Sadly, no developer will want to waste his time on it when he can pretty much build ROMS for different basebands with much fewer codings than workin on the recovery...
Hey guys i have an issue. First off i have an unrooted GS3 on T-Mobile. I downloaded this http://www.sammobile.com/2012/08/25...-1-1-jelly-bean-test-ota-update/#comment-6605 which is a 4.1.1 pre release or whatever. Its cool but some apps dont work properly and force close a lot so my question is how can i go back to ICS or am i stuck with this now?(i know i can root but im really not looking to do that as of now) Also if im stuck with this will i receive the OTA from T-Mobile when they release the official update? I would appreciate some feedback please!!
1. Wrong forum.
2. Flash stock ICS firmware through Odin.
3. No you won't get an OTA from that firmware

You will need to find a stock firmware for T-Mobile on samfirmware.com or wherever (probably in the T-Mobile forum too)
Put the file in the PDA section in Odin and put your phone in download mode and connect it to the PC and hit start.
Yes you will get the OTA if you are not rooted and don't have a custom recovery.
N.B. make sure it is the correct firmware for your version, the US version, if you flash international firmware you will brick your phone. Search for firmware for "t999" there are two firmwares available there. I just checked but I can't link the page.

I need help, fast. After I flashed the 2.3 ftf file (downloaded in one of the threads here) my wifi button suddenly stopped working. I can't check the check box and below the wifi text there's this "error" text. This happened after restarting my phone. What do I need to do to fix this? Will flashing back to my original android version will help?
it's rare case..
because when u flash the .ftf file (if the .ftf is for the correct device[x10])
it should be fine
sound like proble came from wrong kernel
but if you flash the coorrect .ftf it should be good
Did you flash kernel also? If you flash kernel with your Rom, then you must flash WIFI fix for that kernel via Xrecovery. Find wifi fix in thread of your current kernel.
