Device restarted and is now locked? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The notice said "Waiting for WiFi to be turned on for updates", I thought it was android market updates, there was no note of what it was, even if I clicked on it. Once done it restarted my device and I am not in the android with the ! screen.
Help?

That means there was an error. Just pull the battery out, put it back in and restart the phone. it will work. If you want to update you need to have a unmodded version. so just flash back to 1.5.7 before trying the update.

[Q] Sharp 005SH stuck in Major Update screen

Hi guys,
I was trying to upgrade to Android 2.3 on my Sharp Softbank 005SH but the phone got stuck in the Major Update screen and I don't know what to do now. Anyone with experience please help!
The phone is updated to the latest firmware that is required for this major update, Build No. S0900.
So, I decided to go for the PC upgrade option, Downloaded the driver and the Update tool, waited for many hours for the download to complete, then started the procedure.
I then switched the phone to Fast File Transfer USB mode, checked for update, it discovered that an update was available and asked me to restart the phone.
After restarting, I ran the Update tool but it gets stuck at the screen where it checks if the phone is connected in the above USB mode.
Meanwhile, the phone won't reboot in normal mode. If I pull the USB cable out, it says "Update failed. After a reboot the phone will work again." Well, it doesn't because I can't reboot. Even tried removing the battery for a couple of minutes...

I've sent my phone back to Japan. Hopefully, they'll fix it there soon.
Obviously, the problem occurs because the phone and/or the OS are not in Japanese.

accidentally cancelled the ota

my friend accedentally pressed "cancel" when the ota notification pop up. when she went to settings to check for updates, a small window pop up n shows "access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. pls try later"
she tried to reboot her phone but still no luck.
any help?
thanks!:fingers-crossed:
I had this too yesterday when I tried to update from ICS to JB, this morning I tried again and it worked. :cyclops:
Seems that they have some kind of limit for daily updates or something :S
Unfortunately she couldn't get the notification again
When she try to check the update, same thing appears
Any help??

I had that all the time....had to do it through KIES in the end
Why don't you just use Odin? One quick download and then flash the phone. If you prefer using the phone and not a computer get Mobile Odin.

problem with OTA, not rooted

So i bought a used Verizon S4 yesterday and it works fine. Last night it said it had an update, so i accepted before i went to sleep and this morning it said "software update unsuccessful"
Today i tried again to update, i downloaded the update, it verified the download, update available, tap to install, install now, it booted, said installing system update and then "error" about 5 seconds later and thats as far as it gets before it restarts the phone and says "software update unsuccessful"
The phone is not rooted (i used root checker) and is currently on I545VRUAMDK
Any ideas or suggestions to remedy this issue?
Plug it into your PC and let it update thru the Verizon app. Just realize once you take the update you will not be able to root your phone.
that worked, thanks!

[Q] 4.4.3 Update With ClockworkMod Problems

So today (10/06/14) I checked on my Nexus 5 (Rooted) for any software updates and low and behold, there it was, "4.4.3". So I click download (takes about 30 mins) and when it's done it says it will reboot and install. Great, sounds perfect. So I click the button and it begins a countdown. The phone shuts off and then the problem occurred.
When the phone turned back on, there appeared an android, with a loading bar. It then states whether I want to install untrusted software, which was called ClockworkMod. Now this isn't a virus or anything, it's from an app called ROM Manager. So I click yes and it shows another screen. Sadly my memory is useless and I forgot what this said or if I clicked Yes or No. It then went to a screen (after whatever I did) and said this may flash my ROM and cannot be undone. This scared me so my human instincts kicked in and I clicked Go back.
After I clicked go back the phone turned off once again and began like normal. Great! But then when it turned on again, I went to the Settings, looked at the version number and it was 4.4.2. Fantastic! I went on to check for system updates once again but it says my phone is up to date.
So what has happened? If you could please help, that would be great.
Here is some information that may be useful:
- I am using a Rooted Nexus 5 (Unlocked, obviously)
- I have a custom Kernel (Franco Kernel)
- I live in the UK
- I'm not particularly good at art
Thanks in advance, Peter

Samsung A8 (2018), (SM-A530F/DS) homescreen stuck in "phone is starting" after update

Samsung A8 (2018), (SM-A530F/DS) homescreen stuck in "phone is starting" after update
Hi guys, yesterday i did a software update for my samsung A8 (2018) phone and it was going normal until i received an error message at the end of the update. My phone continued to boot successfully but now the homescreen is always stuck in "phone is starting" message.
The phone itself works and i am able to open other apps via google playstore but the homescreen is unusable. I have tried doing cache partition wipes and factory resets, i also thought it was a soft-brick so i tried FRP hijacker with the soft-brick fixer but it just says "check connection" even though my PC successfully scanned the port of my phone. When i open my phone in recovery mode it says "firmware is not valid" at the end of the command line.
I have tried searching online for similar issues but most users have experienced bootloops which is not exactly the problem i have right now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
@Verthingale
Taken from Samsung:
Devices with Android 9 or higher will automatically enable file-based encryption if it has a PIN, pattern, or password set up. During the boot process, the phone will display "Phone is starting..." and the screen may be blank for a few seconds while encryption is taking place. However, if you feel it takes too long for your phone to start, you can disable the encryption to cut a few seconds off of the boot time.

Hi jwoegerbauer, thank you for the reply however unfortunately i don't think the "phone is starting" protocol is actually working. I only experienced this problem right after the latest software update and that was about last night, I have actually tried waiting for the phone to load up but it actually never does (even though i left my phone idle and waited for hours). I am fairly certain that it is a glitch/bug caused by the error at the end of the software update however i am not sure on what to do in such an occasion.
So as to clarify, the software update DID NOT complete as there was an error/failed message right at the end of it but while looking up in the internet i found out that apparently software updates are permanent and cannot be reverted back?
If that is the case then i am really in a pinch right now as i cannot go back to my old software version and yet the new one also does not work.
