[Q] Apps safe to remove? - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Any apps safe to remove? I'm talking about the non-google's stock ones.
Thanks!
EDIT 1: I have removed several ones. Before making the list, just note: I'm using zeam launcher. I would want to use the gingerbread one but it doesn't rotate.
List:
AccuWeather
CoPilot
Amazon Kindle
Amazon MP3 (doesn't work in Mexico)
Setup Wizard
Voice Dialer
DELL Settings Storage
welcome
Dell Stage
Home
Social
Google Search
Voice Search
Dell Sync
Pageonce
Dell Video Stage
Zinio Reader
TuneIn Radio

[Q] Where's Yahoo Messenger?

Been loving my new Gtab with Vegan 5.1.1. I've noticed several threads in which posters seem satisfied with their Yahoo Messenger for video chatting. But I can't find Yahoo Messenger or its video plugin on my Market (fixed).
Any idea where I can get a recent Yahoo Messenger app and video plugin?
When I use the Market app, I'm not able to find any of the Yahoo apps (Mail, Finance, Calendar, etc). When I log into Market via the browser, I am able to find the Yahoo apps, but when I try to install them, I get a message saying that they're "not compatible with my device".
Anyone know what the problem is?
Not sure if it will help, but try market enabler. It's more for getting around carrier restrictions, but it may be what you need.

Retry the market fix, as described in Part Three of
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
Lately the regular method does not work for me, but the Titanium Backup method does.
In my experience not seeing Launcher Pro (Free Version) in the market is a sure sign that you need the market fix (maybe again). Can you find Launcher Pro (Free Version) in the market?
--
There are two ways you can get all the apps you want.
Way 1
Use root explorer to edit prop.build... or is it build.prop? file in system. In line ro.something.something.device = harmony, change harmony to olympus. Then market fix again. You should see all apps afterward.
Way 2
Return or sell your gtab and buy an ipad 2.

Official JB and system bloatware

Hi all, I've seen threads about this issue for ICS, but not (so far) JB........
So, I'm on rooted stock JB, and I've used TiBu to delete about 20 bloatware apps. So far the deleted apps have been "standalone" but in the system folder and normally undeletable.....
I'd still like to make this firmware "leaner" than it currently is....but I've got to the point where I'm unsure what else is safe to delete. Has anybody compiled a JB specific list of what is safe to remove? Including .com android.... apps?
Thanks in advance.....
Keith

Cool, thanks! Can you successfully use mobile hotspot still?
Will freezing Verizon Location Services and Sync Services affect Maps, Gmail Syncing?
Thanks for the list!
Just tried hotspot, had to get home for a connecting device.
Verizon locations is useless. And it's part much just a tracker, it may be used with Vz Navigator. The sync that is disabled is, again, a Verizon service. It doesn't effect Gmail.
Added 11 more to the list.
Please keep this going!!

Calendar? Tasks? How are those bloat? Those are part of AOSP... Lots of real bloat in the list, but not everything is VZW-sponsored taint.

These are disabled through the stock Android apps list or frozen through Titanium Backup or similar program?

I think these are the Verizon-modified versions of the apps. I froze the Verizon calendar app and downloaded Google's from the Play Store. I don't use tasks.

Because they're not AOSP. They're LG versions which I replace from the market. Just like Music.

Thanks - I will disable the ones I can through stock Android system and then the rest through Titanium when I root tonight.
Anything with "test" in the name can also be disabled.

It scans text messages for text that can be linked to certain actions - phone numbers will be linked to dialer, dates to calendar, etc...

[Q] List of apps that can be safely Greenifyed

Hi there.
I can't find it anywhere and the official thread is closed (so strange that there is no official thread in the official Greenify sub forum...)
SO.....where can I look it?
No results in the Search.
Tnx.
I can figure it out yourself. Don't greenify system processes and keep important instant messaging applications running.

My biggest issues come from system apps, such as these:
- Google App
- Google Play services...
- Google Play services (com.google.office process.gapps)
- Google Play services
- Samsung Link Platform Connectivity
- Samsung Cloud Data Delay
- Samsung Push Service
- Backup
- Bluetooth
I have 3 different "Google Play services", Bluetooth even if bluetooth it's turned off, and the Samsung Link there Ida a mysterious for me as I don't have the Samsung Link app installed, and then about 200mb of Google App!!!
Other Samsung backup apps are there but dunno if they can be Greenifyed.
They are all system, and about apps, I don't have any that I can Greenify (I keep WhatsApp, Facebook, and a widget for the clock/weather, but they are so minimum in relation to those system up here!!!
Please help understand if I can Greenify those system apps listed up here, or art least some.
Tnx a lot.

You have some Samsung bloatware on your device, custom ROM would definitely help. Don't greenify Google services, stock Android doesn't run well without. I don't know what "Backup" and "Bluetooth" are in Greenify.
Try to keep all running unless you're willing to flash a ROM.
anyone know if is safe to greenify google photos ?

Yes,I use stock deodexed.
Backup has the Samsung backup icon, and Bluetooth I don't have any idea it's there as I have it turned off!!!
I would like to understand what it's safe to Greenify, and why can't I Greenify Google Play stuff, or if it's safe to Greenify the Samsung Link stuff as I don't even have the Samsung Link app installed
About apps, I have Google App that shows some time after using it and don't get out from the list automatically (so I imagine that Android doesn't close it) so it's shown as a Greenify-able app.
Also, if I Greenify an app like TapaTalk, will I restart from where I was in the forum browsing, or from beginning like if has been killed?

You have practically greenified every App and service on the phone. Do you use it only for making calls?
Calls, SMS, whatsapp, mail (inbox by GMail), Internet browsing (opera mini mainly), games, social (face, xda, etc), and other stuff. It's amazing that you can do almost anything you want with most of the system greenified. It seems that some apps are not so necessary after all... Which app of my list wouldn't you greenify and why? Bye!

No. I've disabled some other apps with Debloater. I've never used TB, but I think you have to be root to use it. And I'm not. .
