Can't save Stock ROM... - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am very new to the rooting game and have had friends usually help and hook me up but unfortunately moving kinda sucks...anyhow I have rooted my Samsung Fascinate (Verizon) using OneClick and all is running well thus far, but before I go uninstalling cr-apps and moving to flash a new ROM, I cannot create a stock rom/backup via ClockWork Recovery. It reboots and instantly fails and I have to manually select REBOOT. Is this a known issue? Forgive my stupidity Any and all insight is GREATLY appreciated.

If you are using rom manager then read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1082534

Help re-rooting my phone through Clockworkmod

So basically what happened here was things went wrong. And I accidently Unrooted my phone The Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant
Which is running GingerR2 on 2.2 I want to install another rom, but can't
I do have Clockworkmod recovery installed I got this phone second-handed so from what I tried there doesn't seem to be a backup
Is there a way to do this or instructions I can follow?
I have searched the forums and can't find anything really related to this and if there was something I apologize for not noticing.
Have tried Z4root it just closed itself after a certain period and phone didn't restart
Tried one click root
Even the option in the recovering for running the SD card won't root it
Thank you kindly for your answer
Just download the cw recovery update.zip and flash it in normal recovery (reinstall packages) twice on the second reinstall it will put u in cw recovery (green font) use it to flash a new rom because they all come rooted.
Any more questions email me cuz I don't get here too much anymore. I will PM u my email
Use AIO Vibrant tools on development area. Its a good tool, It does all you need on ur vibrant including rooting. That's what I am using.

prepping for custom roms

hi,
im trying to flash a custom rom onto my vibrant.
but i've got a question regarding the phone starting stage.
i got the phone from craigslist and it seems the phone is slightly modded:
-it's got a "overstock" logo when you first start up the phone.
-when i boot the phone using the pressing of two volume keys and power button, i get "clockworkmod recovery v2.5.1.3- voodoo lagfix" in red color.
What i want to ask is do I have to get rid of these mods first before i flash custom roms to prevent future problems? If so, how do i get rid of these mods?
if i dont have to get rid of these mods first, do i just follow this guide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
also, i can flash custom roms without rooting right?
thanks
the phone is already rooted for you, to verify you should see the superuser app in your app drawer. Its a skulled android head. You can install any custom rom that already had voodoo enabled without disabling it. If you like you can disable it by going to the voodoo option and disabling it on the next boot. I wouldn't worry about it because most of these current roms have voodoo. What rom were you planning to flash?
hi thanks for the reply.
but i don't think my phone was rooted cuz there was no superuser logo.
so i did root it using the superoneclick method.
however, im in trouble now cause i accidentally formatted the internal sd thinking that'd disable the voodoo lagfix. (the guy i bought it from said he applied the lag fix- i wanted to disable it cause i'm trying to flash the team whiskey 1.3.1 and the site guideline said it'd brick my phone unelss i disable the lagfix- stupid i know)
But i did the phone backup using the rom manager and i restored, but my pics are still not there?
am i screwed here or can i recover somehow the pics from my phone using the backup file?
thanks!

[Q] cwm-recovery-all

today i rooted for the first time..i was successful rooting my fascinate. as part of that process i flashed the cwm-recovery-all...i later installed ROM manager from the market and ran the ClockworkMod, which seemed to go ok..it installs cwm voodoo lagfix...i later read the ROM manager notoriously causes issues with fascinates..my question:
are these 2 cwm files different and does it matter? idk the difference btwn them..i have not flashed a custom rom, just rooted with superuser access running well it seems..
any help is appreciated..should i revert to the other cwm or is it not necessary..
also, first time custom ROM suggestions for a noob are appreciated.
thanks!

[Q] CWM on GB Help

Hey Everyone,
I put my phone back to stock for a while and before I was on Froyo. Now I am having problems with trying to get CWM/Rom Manager on my phone. I have followed the steps to get it rooted (I have SuperUser) but when I do into Rom Manager, the two options I get are Galaxy i9000 and Epic 4G. Is it me or did I do something wrong?
Rom Manager will flash either one just fine, but then when I try to do I backup I get denied with the {Triangle !} and back to square one. I have to ReOdin the CWM-ALL file to get a backup running, and then Rom Manager stops recognizing it. Haaaalllpppp please?
I won't even start asking any other questions until this one is answered
rom manager is worthless for the fascinate...especially when running a touchwiz rom. manually flash cwm2.5 via odin. look up my guide in the general section.

[Q] Trouble flashing CyanogenMod 10.2.1 Spyder

Hey all, just ran into some trouble trying to flash CM-10.2.1 onto my Droid Razr xt912
powered down and booted into recovery, luckily i backed up the stock rom, wiped the stock rom, and tried to flash the .zip file....the program said that the operation was successful, but upon rebooting, no OS loaded up...
the weird thing is that when i was testing out the release to see if i wanted to replace my stock rom, i loaded it onto a partition via safestrap and it seemed to work just fine..
anyone else have the same problems? can anyone think of anything i have done wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated. i realize that this post is slightly vague and i dont know much about flashing roms or anything, only what i have read online. so please by all means ask me anything! i am greatly interested in this ability of the android devices and am wanting to learn as much as possible!!!
thanks again in advance for any help
From what I've read it needs to be loaded onto a partition so if it works you did it right

Earlier CM 10 builds had a restriction. They can only be flashed on the Slot 1 using Safestrap. This was removed in CM10.3 so if you are trying to flash CM 10.2, you need to use only slot 1.
PS: The update script says that in flash process too.
