so i know it's basically a dolled up verson of the hercules but why does the snapdragon 1.5 chip so terrible? is this even a real galaxy s II? or is it just some crappy thing like the infuse 4g aka skydragon or whatever
I am converting from an Atrix up to a more recent AT&T Android phone. There are a few that I'm considering, and while I've done the tech-spec comparisons I would like to have an idea of which of these phones it he most "open" at the moment.
By open, I'm asking:
Which has the most options when it comes to custom ROMS?
Which has the most active xda development scene?
Do any of these phones have limitations, such as locked bootloaders?
Which of these phones will need to undergo methods that will leave warranty-voiding traces in order to use said custom ROMS, MODs and soforth?
The phones that I'm considering (in order) are:
Samsung Galaxy Note LTE
Samsung Gallaxy SII Skyrocket
Samsung Galaxy SII
HTC Vivid
Samsung Captivate Glide
Samsung Infuse 4G
LG Thrill 4G
Motorola Atrix 2
Any and all advice is greatly appreciated! ^_^
I think S II has the most ROM's.
Hope I am in the correct forum, but have a question regarding the Sprint "Samsung Galaxy S™ ll, Epic™ 4G Touch".
I do not use Sprint, but am under the impression they do not use SIM cards. My question is simple, can this phone from Sprint (Galaxy S II) be used with any other carrier like AT&T? Long story short I have the opportunity to get one of these phones, but my contract is with AT&T.

Probably not. EDIT TO ADD: Sprint is a CDMA voice network. AT&T is a GSM voice network. You'll never be able to get voice on one network with a phone from the other carrier because of this.
And the Epic 4G Touch has its own forum. This is the forum for the GT-i9100. Different phone from the Epic 4G Touch.
FYI though, the GT-i9100 DOES work on AT&T - I have one, and am on AT&T.
I have a Sprint Galaxy S II r760, is it possible to flash the phone to verizon prepaid??? Anyone?
i have a sprint epic 4 s2 (sph-d710) phone. I would like to switch to verizon pay as you go. I was wondering if this phone could be flashed so that it could work on verizon network.
