Where is the default folder to add wallpapers too. When I choose it from the gallery or any place else I'm forced to choose a region of the photo that I want, rather than the whole thing.
Thanks in advance

if you press the border of the window that selects the area of the picture you want to use as your background, you can slide your finger to enlarge the area you want to use. But I think to use the whole picture it as to be 1200x1024 or have the same aspect ratio as 1200x1024

I thought 1080x960 (screen height = 960, screen length = 540 X 2 = 1080). Could be wrong, but 75% sure anyway. What makes you think 1200x1024? Are you thinking of max output to external screen?

hi everyone. i'm having an issue which i'm sure you all will be able to help me out. i've looked through the wallpaper collection that many of the users have and i right click the image and "save image as" and save it to the desktop. then i connect my vibrant via usb. where should i be putting the wallpapers to get the right look? if i put them in my gallery, when i try to apply the wallpaper it makes me use the crop function then after applying the wallpaper, it's all blurry and out of focus. could someone please help me out?
thanks.
Is the wallpaper proper size?
Cropping a LARGE picture WILL make it blurry.
Just use your computer.
Use paint, a free program on your Windows PC.
Crop it to the area you want, Idk the EXACT dimensions of the wallpaper (someone wanna help me on this?) but crop the about right amount, and put it on your phone.
That should help.
Or maybe the picture is a bad format? (probably not)
You can make a folder call it wallpapers in the int-sd card, and put in there. if you size them first you usually do not run into the cropping problem. Also there are easy apps from the market that do this automatically, so you could use those as well. One of the error that easy to make is thinking that the home screen is the size if you are using 3 or 5 screens then it is 3 or 5 wide by 1 tall, just in case you had not thought about that.
ok, cool. i will try both ideas. i could be mistaken, but i think the correct size for the vibrant wallpaper is 400x800...could someone verify please?
thanks.

You're correct.
ok. i tried both ideas and i'm STILL having issues with the wallpaper. i used GIMP to resize the images to 400x800 and created a folder on my sd card and named it "wallpapers", but when i go to apply the wallpaper, it makes me use the crop feature and after applying it, it's too big, blurry and out of focus and really starting to piss me off. the same thing happens if i try to use one of my pictures from my gallery as a wallpaper. can someone please help me before i lose the rest of my mind?
thanks all.
It's 480x900 I believe.
Just use the app wallpaper set and save.
Not sure why your having an issue using gallery though, works fine for me using the crop tool zoomed all the way out.
It's actually 960 X 800.
Both those sizes are obviously bigger than 400x800 so they wouldn't fix the croping problem.

You know that box that appears on the picture, when you select using it as a wallpaper, is adjustable right?

yes. it is adjustable. that's the cropping tool. (if we are talking about the same "box") i tried using a couple of wallpaper programs from the market and it looks a little better, but not as good as the pre-installed ones.

This site has already made sized wallpaper for the note with good quality. It takes a load off of some people by having to resize.
Click on the image, then go to other resolution, under mobile you should see 800x1280 click then download! It fits the note perfect!
Enjoy
Wow. Awesome, thanks.

I don't see a setting for 800x1280 on any of the images. Just 1280x800. Big difference. Are you choosing resize? Do you mean to click on the image twice from the main page? Or once from the gallery, then choose the resolution from the dropdown menu?
Because i don't see it at all...and I've looked at a dozen different images.

same here, don't see any 800x1280 options.
Serious question: what's the difference, other than portrait vs. Landscape?

all the difference? lets say the wallpaper features something where orientation matters (not a pattern) for example, then it would look retarded to have lets say, a building, flipped sideways since most ppl and most launchers, are used in portrait mode.

I think a lot of people are using the phone in landscape, I know I am, and so this works for me.
But I do realize this is a problem for portrait.
Recent images are not sized for the note untill a week later! But go into catagory and you good to go.

Most people use their phone as a phone in portrait mode. The only time i go intimately landscape is when im in an app.
If you use a 1280x800 wallpaper, it will either be pixelated, or will have black bars on the top and bottom in portrait mode.
The use case for landscape mostly consists of games, video, or browsing. All cases where your not in the launcher. But when youre initiating a phone call, text message, or other phonely activities...you generally dont want to have to use two hands.
If its a pattern you can rotate it, and then apply it. But most cool wallpapers arent orientation neutral.
To get the 800x1280 wallpapers:
1. Click on a category. Ex. 3D
2. Click on mobile
3. There is no option for 800x1280, so on the end of the url add "/800x1280"
It will show all the wallpapers with 800x1280 resolution in that category now.

I love car wallpapers, but seriously, 30 pages of Acuras?
I just made a new background image for my phone, however when I try to apply it, the top of the image is being chopped off, and thus I can not see the top of the background I made when I am looking at my homescreen.
It looks as if you have tried to make an image that is "twice as high" as the phones resolution, and this means I only see roughly the lower half of the background image i just made.
Question is, how do i fix it so it looks right?
Download an app called Wallpaper Wizardrii from the Play Store, and set your wallpaper from there

Well I just downloaded it. And it won't let me select the image I want to use however. It only shows 10 or so images overall and I have close to 1000 or more overall on the phone.
I would however prefer a tip/solution that evolved around using the native apps however.
Edit the picture and add a black border to the sides. The picture should be 960x800 or something in this ratio. But then you have to disable wallpaperscrolling in your launcher.

Why not just add borders to the top and bottom of the image instead?. It would make sense considering the image is supposed to be scrolling vertically
Dont know which launcher you are using then
The wallpaper is scrolling horizontally (for most people ) and is therefore twice your Phones width (in pixels) and the original height
960x800

Sorry I always tend to confuse those two . And I am using Go Launcher Ex. So 960*800 or at least that aspect ratio.
Yes! 960 width and 800 height

Is there any way to set a wallpaper without having it zoom in. Every wallpaper sets with a zoom altering the original image, no matter how I set it.
Sent from my EVO LTE using Tapatalk 2
When you select the wallpaper and the bounding box appears, you can stretch it out so that it covers the whole image. If the image is the right size (1440x1280) it won't zoom, and even though it will say cropping, it won't crop. Check the link in my sig for some correctly sized wallpapers to peruse.
Do this like I write and u should be able to use the whole screen photo with no zooming.
Go into gallery and select ur photo. When the menu comes up select set as wallpaper and not wallpaper option. There are 3 different formats u can use. Select the wide screen one or panaroma type style.
The whole picture will be used instead of having to crop manually and it will still be scrollable.
Thanks if I helped u.

I figured out the resolution for the wallpaper (it should be 3840x2560, not 3966x2560). So I got a 2560x1440 wallpaper and I was able to center it ona 3840x2560 canvas. When I zoom on the 2560x1440 image in the picture viewer, it looks sharp and great, but when I set it as a wallpaper, it's just not as sharp.
Anyone know what's going on here?
Wait... just kidding. Figured it out. My image has black borders. Now I'm getting confused >_>
I'll update this post if I find out anything.

Yeah. I'm aware of those threads. I wasn't exactly talking about the resolution though. My problem was that I thought 2560x1440 wallpapers would fit perfectly when you use the non-scroll option from Wallpaper Wizardrii, but I found out that the wallpapers aren't exactly as 2560x1440. The height is actually slightly taller.
The wallpapers at 3966x2560 aren't exactly perfect as well. When you set the wallpaper, you still have to crop off a bit. The better resolution is 3840x2560. It needs a ratio of 1.5.
3840 is too small. The image will not fully fill the default crop tool in Android. You can't use Wallpaper Wizardrii to determine this. You need to use the default tool in Android. 3966 is the right size.
you guys accounting for the soft buttons taking up some of the 1600 height?

Strange, the image wasn't fully filled when I used 3966 using the default tool in Android. Is it maybe because I'm using only 3 homescreens?

Ahh... Perhaps the number of screens do change the width. I am using 5 home screens. The height minus the notification bar and minus the bottom buttons is 1456. This 1456 "visible" area starts 577 pixels down from the top of the 2560 height.
